Colin Moriarty Says White Supremacy/Racism Doesn't Exist Because Asians

Ignoring for 1-second that he's a complete fucking idiot, just because one group is accepted by the majority and is doing well that doesn't mean other groups don't face harsh discrimination or conditions. Anti-blackness is very much a thing in the US and other minority groups sometimes even embrace it to help further their acceptance by the majority demographic. Look at the Irish for instance.

Basically, replace "marine mammals" with "minorities" and "sea lions" with "black people" and you've basically got America in a nutshell:

Avg income/education/health? Filipinos and Pacific Islanders don't have much better prospects than poor blacks and Latinos, and there are swaths of Asian communities in urban areas who live in shanties and get by on nothing

I saw the thread title and decided to play a game before clicking it.
The game was that i would guess that after these remarks he would get called out by a lot of people, act shocked people are coming after him and play the victim card. I won.
 
As an Asian-American that would fit in his stereotype of a "model minority AA," I've gotta say fuck Colin. He's a pseudointellectual who isn't anywhere near as smart as he thinks he is. Even when he was reviewing video games, he was always a bitter, self-pitying asshole who now has learned he can externalize his own cynicism and project them on whatever cause that supports his situation as a victim.

Fuck him.

Colin clearly let the success of going independent get to him and he is not the same person he was at IGN.
 
White supremacy exists, because people believe it exists. It doesn't matter what the actual truth is.

That's they really strange thing here, that he seems to be under the impression that white supremacy can only exist if it is quantifiable by statistics.

You have to make certain mental blocks for yourself if you are going to take a Libertarian or right-wing slant and still pretend you are a good person and ally to those minorities you hurt with every vote.

Colin has been trash for a very long time it's just taken his recent JonTron level slips to show the world. I knew he was an ass back during a Beyond podcast when he did a rant on people complain about game prices when he got review copies free. He still has no concept of privilege.

This is completely false. They were at their height of success with Kinda Funny when they agreed that Colin should leave, and they've lost a ton of money after his departure. They've yet to recover, not by a long shot.
 
Man I used to love him at IGN. Reeeeeeeally fell off a cliff, whether he's always been like this behind doors or not. When he left Kinda Funny I stopped following him. Glad I did.
 
For real though, why did we let the rest of Kinda Funny Games off the hook? They enabled this guy for years, and we just let them go? Lots of other people from IGN have defended him too, and some like Mitch Dyer barely can muster an emotion about Colin other than "Well geee, sure wish he'd turn the racism down but I don't dislike him!"
 
Asians are successful because they are treated with respect. Black people are not. If a group is treated respectfully and given opportunities to succeed, they will succeed.

Asians still face oppression though.

This is why education isn't a cure all for white supremacy. You're going to get a bunch of Lawn Guyland white mediocrities like Moriarty exposed to some basic sophomore level right wing arguments and think they're profound and killer.
 
Is he trying to argue here that we shouldn't call it White Supremacy because clearly they are just racist against black and brown dudes and not asians? Ignoring the validity of that premise...he's getting mad at terminology? Is that his whole point? Wat?
 
Reading through some of that reddit thread its disheartening to see people who claim they are minorities or mixed race heritage saying that the difference for them is that they "choose" not to be victims. And under the assumption that they can educate or work themselves out of racism.

But extremely heartening to see many more people explaining to Colin why his shit is so stupid (even if he pretends like what they are saying and their examples are not related to what he said).

Man this guy is my main milkshake duck. He used to be one of my main reasons for going on IGN and watching Kinda Funny, but at least he's more transparent about what an ass he is so I no longer have the desire to support him
