Colins patreon took a huge dive after its first month, it was so bad that he removed his patreon earnings from the public. This is clearly an attempt to get those people back, i dont think we should even acknowlege him or give him the free advertising that hes looking for.

Greg has said that he didn't really get into politics with Colin. And there were plenty of times on KF shows where he and others would challenge Colin's viewpoints. It's not like he was encouraging Colin to say bad things.

But if you don't like Greg for other reasons I can understand that lol. He's definitely got a big personality. Not a bad thing, but it's not for everyone.

And yea, a lot of people unsubbed from KF for both Colin's joke and for him leaving.
 
I liked Colin better when he stuck to video games. This has been a very bad year for him since he's gotten a heck of a lot more outspoken about his political views, and it's difficult to take him seriously with some of the stuff he says these days.

These don't even count your everyday racism. Things like people making small dick jokes, or people assuming that you're not athletic, or having a stranger tell your white date that she shouldn't be going out with an Asian.

I mean wasn't the key reason Chinese were brought here for labor work because it's the next best thing to slavery in terms of cost?

So you know some successful Asians... I know successful black ppl? Asians are good at math. Black ppl are good at sports?

He was so great at talking about video games. He had a ton of knowledge, and he always approached things from the angle of an average consumer, and not a games journalist.

I really wish he stuck with video games, especially now that Nintendo is back on their feet again.
 
Also isn't it true that this guy has never had to have a job interview or something like that because Greg got him his job at ign and kinda funny? If true the title of the thread should read "man who never had to interview for job says white supremacy doesn't exist because asians".
 
So is this boiling down to "there's no racism because I have Asian friends and coworkers and they couldn't be successful if there was racism?"

This guy is a fucking dork who thinks he is smart enough to talk about politics, race, history, etc. But he is not only stupid and a dork but a bigot. He is a little bitch when he talks about his struggles but when he wants to talk about his opinions ( that he make them facts) he is being completely un-emphatic to a bunch of people. A guy living of his "fame" in the videogame industry because he was controversial now is living because he talks about the "truth" regarding history and politics. Of course he is a white dude with money making his living talking shit about others who can't talk freely.

Lol they may have lost a good amount of revenue from him leaving, but I really don't think they would have been able to weather the storm of numerous controversies if he had stayed. They're already a small-ish company. All it takes is one or two bad PR days to tank them.

^^^THIS. The only reason this guy has a voice is because people pay attention and the only reason people pay attention is because of his history with the video game industry. If he had never paired up with Greg Miller on podcasts and the like then literally no one would care about what this dude has to say. Greg Miller can have chemistry with anyone. He can make a turd seem charming.

If you ignore Captain 311 then his feed becomes an echo chamber and he has nothing to feed of off. Unfortunately, that will never happen because while I find it easy to ignore dumb people many (somewhat understandably) have a difficult time doing that. I say that as someone who noticed that he only really started leaning into his alt-right beliefs when he started getting attention for it from left leaning people.

I'm tired of seeing this echoed in this thread. When someone is saying regressive racist things, is ignoring systematic structures, conflating demographics and ethnic groups under the Asian moniker, they need to be called out. Ignoring racism doesn't address it.

People like to believe that ignoring people works and it doesn't. It doesn't work with HS bullies. It doesn't work with workplace harassment, and it doesn't work online either. Not addressing people like this allows a wound to fester. And the infection can spread, and it needs to be addressed.

We need to stop giving x attention is the worst way to solve anything. It's lazy. Confronting racists with an audience needs to happen, and it's not like most of the people on this site are Colin's patrons.

Just need to watch a re-run of M.A.S.H to see how Americans viewed Asians in 1970s, just imagine how they viewed them 100 years earlier.

Did Greg or KF actually ever get a backbone and just outright denounce the shit he says?

Cause that was the shit that got me to unsub from KF's patreon.
