Dragon Ball FighterZ - Characters, Specials, and Stages Discussion

With the Kid Buu tease on Twitter, I feel like the upcoming V-Jump reveals will cover the Buu Saga. To be more specific, I'm expecting Kid Buu, Mystic/Ultimate Gohan, & Gotenks to be revealed next. I know I've mentioned this before, but I'm just re-iterating my prediction before the leaks come out.
Yessir.

I miss when DBZ fights were like RPG bosses. Whole squad fighting to take down one dude. It's why Frieza was such a good endgame fight.

Post Namek though everything kinda became one on one

Before Z was a lot of one on one fights too.
And while characters teamed up against Frieza, it was largely just one on one once Goku showed up.

Really, the fight with Vegeta in the Saiyan saga was an oddity, and still one of the best fights in the series because of it.

That's definitely a component of why I like the Saiyan Saga so much. Seeing multiple fighters try and take on Nappa and Vegeta, went a long way towards making them feel like threatening villains. Nappa was straight up annihilating the Z Fighters, and Vegeta would simply not die! It took everyone's efforts just to eek out a win. Even Yajirobe was clutch!

I'll go further, the Vegeta encounter IS the best fight in the series! It's also one of the best battles in all shonen manga/anime.

Jiren when?

Normally I moan everytime ya'll get hype over a new Super character every week but Jiren feels like an exception. Jiren reminds me of Majin Buu as this sort unstoppable force.

Also helps that his design isn't shit :)

I've actually grown to like Jiren's design myself, but I find it humorous that this is the Super design you find to not be "shit"

He looks athletic and his costume is simple. Even if he is a basic Grey alien, its a neat interpretation on that.

He seems like he would have fit right in Z unlike a lot of the other dumb character designs (U6 Saiyans, Fat Blob Girl who's name I have forgotten, yellow teddy bear thing, the sensitive robot)

I like how people say characters Ribrianne don't belong as if Majin Buu doesn't exist, or Janemba if we're counting movie characters.

That said, y'all are too pressed over characters that would "fit right in Z."

Fat Buu worked for me since when he was first introduced and for awhile, there was no visible malice which was fucking creepy.

Hit, Goku Black/Zamasu, and Jiren are the only parts of Super that work for me

/hot take

Jiren is pretty much a lock for this game but as DLC or in a later revision - not at launch.

Hit though, I'm hoping they can squeeze him at launch. Though I agree with others that the next batch of characters to be revealed are probably the rest of the "new to Buu Saga" characters.

Jiren shouldn't be playable, he should just arrive at random, eliminate everyone in an explosion, pose with his back turned to it, then leave - prompting a new round.

Yeah I don't really get why people are so into Jiren. He's kinda boring.

He's like, really strong. So strong, that you kind of stop caring about how boring he is, because he's just that strong. Also his brand of cockiness compared to past antagonists is amusing.

That was so disrespectful, who does he think he is? I hope Goku puts that bitch in his pla..oh wait wrong character

Ugh the blatant hypocrisy from some people on that episode pissed me of so much. It made me go from
“Eh she’s ok” to “put her in literally everything!”

I disagree with the hypocrisy. Caulifla likely would have been better received if she weren't Saiyan to begin with and was shown to be naturally that powerful. That she got both SS and immediately SS2 afterwards just rubbed a lot fans the wrong way knowing how difficult it was for Goku and Gohan to get it and the time it took (and even Cabba had to 'earn' SS). Jiren though ain't human and doesn't really apply.
