I wish I could buy both day one, but In all likelihood I'll get the Series X on launch day and then the PS5 about 4 months later when I get my annual bonus for my new job. If it is a large as I have heard people say it is i will also be significantly beefing up my gaming PC. I'm not missing out on anything this generation.

I dont think we'll see the design today. It's only March. They will probably reveal that in June.

Really? You dont know sony or Nintendo may have implemented paid online anyway, yeah its not clear cut but the industry would be undoubtedly worse without competition. Xbox forced sonys hand in a lot of a good ideas, im not saying that sony would not come up with them on there own but it would take a lot longer, without xbox the playstation right now might be a walled garden with no cross play, proprietary storage, less first party because theres less competition...

Also Sony had already crossplay with PC last gen und the PS3 did not use proprietary storage unlike the 360 so those are bad examples.

I want high specs for both. I was greatly impressed (and excited) with what Microsoft presented. If Sony has the same or better specs, it would be nothing but a win for me. How can gamers not be excited for nextgen installments of: Spiderman, HZD, Ori, Cuphead, Forza, GT, Halo, and Uncharted. So many games, very little time for silly tit for tat console revenge plots.

9tf vs 12tf is huge but the price point of those consoles will definitely reflect that. No way they are priced the same at that different spec. With economy tanking with corona, lets see.

MS did say they did NOT want to lose on power and price this time around.
If both are $499......and one is 12tb vs 9.....even if MS loses money at first, I think they should go for it and basically "drop the mic"

honestly as an adult, paying 100$ more for at least 3 years of superior hardware ( regardless who is more powerful, ) isn't really an issue till the PRO versions come out anyway.
not gonna settle for an inferior product just because i saved my ass a 100$. if i take my family to a steak house i am paying like 60$ on that night alone. 100$ for 3 years? yeah ill take it.
of course that is just me. the mainstream might think differently of course. Not really worried who sells more units. I am not running the company or have stock in either to worry about sales as long as i am getting my superior ports ( regardless which platform )

Let's see what happens. If it is below 11TF then I will be disappointed unless they have some additional features mainly because I want the best multiplatform version (apart from PC). If the Series X Multiplaform games looks significantly better than the PS5 version then I will be annoyed.
