The Road to PS5: Official Stream

Does this mean no VRAM/RAM separation? Just one shared pool of 16GB GDDR5? That seems too little? A lot for just VRAM but not for both together? PC GPUs have 8-12 GB Vram these days and games still tend to require like 16GB ram on top? Or will the SSD replace the function of ram or something? Surely it's not as fast...

Edit: stream talked about that literally just after I typed it, indeed they're using the SSD with a custom flash controller and shit to function for what the ram would normally do or something. We'll see.

Sony unveiling a games console while the US President is giving another conference declaring Directive 51 and activating The Division!

Sony can't catch a break.

Series X is going to cost $500 US/$700 CAD, not sure why Xbox fans are celebrating when the thing won't even be remotely affordable.

This was originally intended to be their GDC show so with that being the case this is pretty on par for how those shows typically go.
thats all fine then. But its not a GDC show anymore. And sony fans have bene waiting for news a long time. Then they should not start with throwing this out there. If they show this at GDC nobody wil complain. Now alot wil complain

Hmm... Is this a console reveal or a computer science class?

It's not a console reveal. It's a spec delivery to potential developers who will be needed to make software for PS5. If you came here hoping for gaming or to even see what it'll look like you may as well close the tab.
