Something crazy from my neck of the woods. 519 senior residences have at least 1 infected person.

We had a drop in cases but a drop in testing. So expect our numbers to be higher again tomorrow.

Oh and only 82 in ICU. I think it was 400 in the hospital but I am not sure the exact number.

To me it's not surprising. It's pretty much only people that have grown up in the West that look to abstract principles to explain human behavior and view everyone as an atomized individual as if you came out of nowhere and have no past/history that's important or identity. A large portion of people in the US from other countries/cultures, even if they have issues with those countries/cultures and don't want to return to them, they see themselves as part of that country/culture first. They are Chinese first, Mexican first, Filipino first, really there are people like that from pretty much everywhere except Europe.


Besides that, it was probably a moneymaking opportunity either for the individuals or the company. We'll probably see lots of non-Chinese doing this the next time it comes up. Plenty of people hoarded supplies as soon as they knew there was a shortage and tried to sell it on Amazon/Ebay or even on the side of the road, and the companies and or law enforcement had to put a stop to it. Well if people find out there are foreign buyers you'll have plenty of those people doing this next time to make a profit.


If you want to be protected in a time like this from bad behavior, you need a country of nationalists. If you don't love America more than you love other countries, which a lot of liberals don't, then there is no reason to sacrifice for it. If you want to have a country, you cannot have one political party that disparages it or teaches others that it's bad.

I'm not willing to go there at all. Suspecting foreign nationals over here on temporary work or student visas? Maybe, but not American citizens born to first generation immigrants or even permanent resident green card holders. A lot of them are more patriotic than Americans who have been here for generations and generations.

Even if it's just people on student visas how many of those are there? How many more overstayed a student or tourist visa and might do this? The numbers are big enough to be clearing out a few stores and either causing or contributing to a panic.

Dropped some shopping off to my mum today and I'm surprised to see a trade paint centre with a queue going about 100m down the road. Obviously everybody has decided that now is the perfect time to paint the house, but why is this place even open to the public right now? I'm indoors 99% of the time doing my bit but you have people going out for unneeded shit and jeopardising all of the effort.. Just pissed me off today. The more these cunts don't make the effort the more everybody is affected.

EDIT: where did you see the 40k number? I read the bloomberg news and there is nothing. They just say China recently revealed 1k something more asymptomatic cases.

A train engineer at the Port of Los Angeles was arrested this morning on federal charges for allegedly running a locomotive at full speed off the end of rail tracks near the USNS Mercy.

In his first interview with the Los Angeles Port Police, Moreno acknowledged that he "did it," saying that he was suspicious of the Mercy and believing it had an alternate purpose related to COVID-19 or a government takeover, the affidavit states. Moreno stated that he acted alone and had not pre-planned the attempted attack. While admitting to intentionally derailing and crashing the train, he said he knew it would bring media attention and "people could see for themselves," referring to the Mercy, according to the affidavit.

In a second interview with FBI agents, Moreno stated that "he did it out of the desire to 'wake people up,'" according to the affidavit. "Moreno stated that he thought that the U.S.N.S. Mercy was suspicious and did not believe 'the ship is what they say it's for.'"

i seen it about 10 minutes after it happened. Guy had to have been on a bomb one. That spot where it shot off tracks is where they wait before they start moving cans around in the port. They pull up slowly right there. Dude just blew right through it lol. What a dumbass.

If anyone else has seen the China mainland to cross boarder shoppers that I have many times. It's the same locust mentality. They arrive with empty suitcases and buy up all the milk powder (Now limited by law to being just 2 cans) and all certain brand cosmetics, shampoo and sweet snacks. Take them back across the border where they instantly offload them to a group of waiting wholesale buyers.

Yeah, I was in Guangzhou a few years back at an Aeon department store with a sale. You had old ass Chinese women fighting over trinkets in just the same way.
