It is exactly that. We're all gonna get SARS-COV2 at some point. The quarantines exist so that when (not if) we contract the virus, we could be sure there will be an ICU bed available if/when we need it.

But it seems people can't understand that one simple concept: solidarity.

Italy, Spain, UK and NYC have had all those deaths because their health systems collapsed and couldn't treat everyone that got infected.

The UK’s healthcare system collapsed? I must have missed that. Ultimately the death count is a product of the number of infections with a modifier for age and comorbidities, and a further modifier for a collapsed healthcare system - we simply had more of it in the wrong places, not a collapsed healthcare system. If someone has a lethal dose of Corona no Doctor can fix it.

The same China Trump praised 25 times since January for their handling of the virus? Interesting.

It fits considering I brought up Taiwan. They did a fantastic job containing the virus and the world can learn from them.

Don't fight freedom. The world is opening back up, a world where there's more than just 0.5 yuan posts if you choose it. Get back out there and enjoy it while respecting those around you. I'll be heading to a restaurant first chance I get and dropping a fat tip on my way out.

Bars, yes. Concerts, yes, gyms, most likely, parks (outside has shown to really be better). (Yes, as in close them).

Yeah, there is some death. What is your point? Does it crash the healthcare system?

Business need to function or we will have a way bigger problem than some very unfortunate death.

Again, you aren’t looking at the data. Older people also aren’t going to bars/concerts etc.

Good thing most of the country is reopening (thankfully nyc isn’t... bigger issue there), and are Ignroing you and your ilk who just want to use this to implement social policy.

I’m sorry that the world has covid 19, but it does.

As long as flights from america is blocked, then open up all you want. Its going to cost your country a lot of lives to do so foolishly, but if thats the price you want to pay for your paranoia then so be it.

Dear Corona. Like Kramer during The Contest... "I'm out!". I'm done with all this shit. You can take your death tolls and projections and shove them up your ass. Fuck China !! Fuck our brilliant leaders who tell us to obey. Fuck Gavin Newsome for giving our tax dollars to illegals while citizens suffer. Fuck Cuomo for telling us to wear masks while not wearing a mask. Fuck the mayor of Chicago for telling us that HER haircut and hygiene was more important than ours because she is on t.v.

Fuck the asshole judge above putting a woman who needs to provide for her family in jail while felons are being released for THEIR safety. Fuck Fredo Cuomo for his unbelievably outrageous pantomime of actually HAVING the virus, lying about quarantining himself, going out in public, then filming himself coming out of quarantine?!!?

Fuck me for believing the same media about the danger of this virus. The same media that lied to me about Russia, Flynn, Covington, Kavenaugh, Smolette, Ukraine, and China.

Fuck people calling out protesters. Fuck tic tok nurses (really great look assholes, especially for health care workers who have lost their jobs). Fuck the fact that a woman can make an appointment to kill an unborn child but I can't make an appointment to get a fucking haircut.

Fuck YouTube, Google, and Facebook for shutting people down.

And last but not least, Fuck you ultra scared bitches who would give up your freedom to only crawl into your bed, pull the covers over your head and sob.

Love always,

Neil

I know I wouldn't risk spending thousands of dollars in airfare and hotel/airBnB cancellations taking my family to a foreign country if our being allowed entry was contingent on the result of a coronavirus test, especially since our chances of catching it on the airplane itself are pretty damn high.

Yes, that's the price you have to pay. Sadly as long as we don't have a vaccine, this is the reality. Furthermore i don't think traveling this year for holidays will be a real possibility.

fact of the matter is, its time to open up.

and i refuse to wear a mask. it is a muzzle that infringes on my rights

Wheh, i'm happy you don't live in my country. You'll get fined if you don't here. What about wearing a mask is "infringing your rights"?
You know you are not allowed to walk around naked in public too? Did you go around and protest because you want to run around naked? lmao

Neil Young rocks. Been listening to all his albums this week. You're right, it's all a fricken scam. Good luck fellow Gaffer. Keep on listening and keep on rocking in the free world.

Being a teacher in 2030: Stand on the X, if the NPC student hears a triggering word, they press an alarm button on their microchipped-arm. This activates a camera at the Global Ministry of Truth in Teaching (GMO-TIT) who tune in to a live feed. If a non-state-backed idea is being taught, the X opens up immediately to a pit of spikes. Students are casually reminded by text message to go to their next class and continue reporting teachers in said fashion. The teacher lays impaled, still breathing, twitching, wishing for a better world while succumbing to immense pain. The trap door closes and the body liquidated by acid. No one misses the person. Everybody is safe and happy.

Would you rather the country starve because nobody is working?

Blame your government for not introducing the furlough scheme that the majority of the saner nations have introduced then. The richest country in the world and it can't even manage that. You wouldn't need to be as keen to rush back to work if your government was paying you to stay home.

Mine did. What's your point?

You tell me how long it would be.

It's a product of how much food is left vs how much people eat, with a modifier for how quickly what's there will go off, and potentially another modifier for storage facilities no longer being manned properly. I sense you think you have a gotcha because I won't give you an exact date - nope, that's just you being a cunt.

You're the one who brought it up as if it was imminent at the rate we're going, turns out you were being alarmist to justify some states sending their citizens out as cases increase.

Hypothetical ffs. If we continue to lockdown forever, how well do you think the food industry will function? Honestly I'm having a shitty day and don't have the patience to deal with the Trump-deranged.

Do you really think a cop would fine you for it? I haven't worn one outside since this whole thing started and no cop ever gave me trouble for it and I met plenty.

Of course they would. Police corruption is high here. Basically the police ask for pocket money in return for skipping a hefty fine. It happened to me once (traffic violation apparently, but they were wrong), even though I pretended I didn't understand and paid nothing - they wanted 50 Euros in cash for me to drive away. I'm not giving them money for beer on principle - I'd rather pay a bigger fine.

Slovakia has enforced mask wearing in public. Only because this country is oldschool do people not wear them in their gardens. But out in public, you'll be fined.

I believe the wearing of one should be a personal choice, but I'm not in charge lol

Then step away from the computer rather than spouting utter rubbish. The food industry continues, just as the postal services continue and just as all the other key industries keep working. You aren't going to starve if you have to stay in your house for another month.

All the factories around here are still open and working as normal. The reason you see all those trucks still hurtling around is because the food chain is still functional so calm down already.

Wow, didn't know it was this bad to the East. I haven't had any issues with Slovakian cops yet. Where exactly do you live? I frequent Tatry myself.

I've just been chilling and working from home during the outbreak. It's meant to be opening up soon. Yeah, it's funny, everything you hear about the UK and US refusing to do, we already do. Like the app tracking too. There's major push back about that in the UK now I think, but over here I'm worried it will be enforced too. The mobile network operators have been giving free unlimited data plans for the past three months, probably to help gov control. I mean why else? It's expensive normally, and now it's completely free.

We had county border controlled military lockdown during Easter. Supermarket lines like in communist times. And all the educators are praising it. I don't know any Slovak who is even slightly rebellious and questioning anything. We'll be first to try the vaccine too I bet. Today in the press, research said 41% of Slovaks look forward to the vaccine and the other 59% must not because they obviously believe in conspiracies. Seriously, it's like Springfield over here.

Edit: oh yeah, total of 25 deaths. Must be that "flu-like" weak strain of Covid lol

Ferguson told The Telegraph that he "made an error in judgment" when he let the 38-year-old woman visit him twice at his London home amid a government-mandated lockdown -- once on March 30 and once on April 8. The measure allows residents to only leave their homes for food, exercise, medical appointments and if they must physically report to work.

ATM, some areas at 50-60%, it will be felt. Many countries are scrambling for workers to harvest crops, meat industries have issues with staffing, entire fishing fleets are in the harbour. I don't think the western world will have unsurmounatable issues, we will probarly notice less of a selection/limits (that will still be ludicous) but developing nations will probarly have issues.

I think we can see that there won't be a total collapse though, thankfully, but there are and will be issues.

(Sad though, the dairy industry all over the planet is dumping gazillion gallons of milk, since demand have collapsed.)

These days "Open the country" sounds more like "Release the Kraken"

Well hope all states can guarantee you a ventilator and a bed in case you need it. The rest is your body vs the virus.

These elected officials sitting in their ivory towers demanding people not work to keep their homes will soon be screaming to open the country when they realize there's no tax revenue to pay for their underage hookers.

Would you rather the country starve because nobody is working?

Yes, there are inescapable practicalities to life. People must have their basic needs met, even in a viral pandemic. And in a large scale global society where people don't directly grow their own food/meet their own fundamental needs - where we all depend upon each other, there are two options sooner (rather than) or later. Either A) The gears of society start churning again and we endure some unfortunate casualties for the greater good of all or B) We all return to a hunter/gatherer state.

We began the lockdown to ensure the medical infrastructure could get a headstart and handle patients with Covid. If the medical apparatus is ready, we continue social distancing, the most vulnerable isolate themselves, then it hurts to continue lockdown. People in lower income levels and small businesses will suffer the most due to bankruptcy and unemployment. The wealthy are able to ride out extended lockdowns better. If a specific region or state has a run on the hospitals, then drastic actions should be taken. But this universal lockdown hurts more people in the long run especially if the food supply chain are at risk of being disrupted. Again, the wealthy will be fine cause the game is rigged. Lower to middle class people will be the people who suffer the after effects.

It might vary by country, but I think distribution is the issue with milk.

I have no doubt services are compromised to a degree, but that is a vast difference to saying people are going to starve because the food isn't being processed. They might well starve because they cant afford to buy food of course, but that is why I was critical of the USA's policy before. Instead of 20 million jobs going, and many millions signing on for unemployment, it would have been fiscally prudent for the USA to offer a similar scheme to the one we have here, where they cover 80% of the wage for an employee to keep his or her job in place, for once it is safe to return to it.

Instead, Trump now has to deal with the triple threat of the virus, the economy (which would have been hit either way, regardless of furloughing jobs) and also keeping his base alive, with no job or medical insurance, so as they vote him back into office at the end of the year.
