Microsoft Games Showcase Event Today (11am ET / 8am PT / 4pm UK)

There's a fundamental issue with these new games. The art design is really really bad and amatuer, but given a large budget. The rest is either woke or cringe. This may be the beginning of the end as more activists invade the industry.

I think we all expected to see Valhalla actually being played for more than 5 minutes, considering it is coming this year and they said gameplay reveal incoming at this show.

That's just plain wrong. The only thing they ever said is that first party games for the next 6 to 18 months will come out on Xbox One and Series X.

This was the last time they fool me. I can't handle the marketing from them anymore. From "wait to e3" every year to "I'm more excited by what they didnt show" to "gameplay reveals"... I'm just done. That's it. I'd rather them say NOTHING than to keep pulling this shit. I'm out.
 
Don't really know why they did it this way (third party first), but there was plenty of stuff in there that I didn't know about that I'm now interested in... Lots of new IPs.

Happy enough. Excited for next gen, an happy to see so many 'smart delivery' and Gamepass games.

Hell, I´m a PS guy and I was excited about this thing today. This was a collection of currrent gen games that get a fucking patch to run better on xbox new machine. No next gen, no improvement, no exitement, simply nothing.

I specifically was alluding to the Valhalla gameplay reveal, I am well aware about no first party at this how.
 
Ok nothing I have seen that can't be done graphically on current gen consoles .

not even anything look impressive for a current gen game aside from that alien kinda like game .
This killed the xbox hype for me . What the fuck MS was thinking ..

What the hell are you talking about, lol? They revealed a number of games coming out in 2021 and they going to be next gen games or games that are being shown of optimized for next gen. They didn't lie about anything. Just because you cannot comprehend simple language doesn't mean Microsoft were dishonest, lol.

Nope, as a third-party you can't release Series X exclusives. At the moment they are just saying they won't licence them without giving a reason, come back to this post in July and it'll make sense.

Yikes. At the people clearly acting like these are first party exclusives (or just being disingenuous)

It's clear a lot of these people weren't around when it went PS3/360 to PS4/X1 in terms of 3rd party games the first couple years.

Keep expectations in check.

Valhalla gameplay ........... next gen reveal by only showing screams and fast shots from game and that's it



tbh I liked the medium and that's it
 
they just showed enhanced games , none of those where next gen exclusive so how can you expect next gen visuals, it will be mostly resolution , AA , but nothing more there.

No idea who is in charge of these but they consistently overhype them only for them to be a massive disappointment.

Just say don't expect much. It's really not that hard.
 
Not enough gameplay for my taste. This was always gonna be about 3rd-party games only, why the confusion?

Anyway, Dirt 5 was stated to be 4k/60fps with an alternate performance 120fps mode. Very cool.

He specifically said Hertz. Not fps. wether he meant that or not could mean a massive difference.

You could display at 120hz but still run at 60fps and it would still feel more responsive for example. Depends what he meant. Needs to be cleared up.

Microsoft really F'd up bad on this one. As bad as the terrible terrible Cerny Intro. Incompetence is rampant at both companies obviously! A race to the bottom!
 
Microsoft had done everything right up to this point, but that was hugely underwhelming. On to the next event they have.

At the same time, most games were presentation from this current gen, nothing in there was built to take advantage from the next gen sauce. Sony's Ghost of Tsushima and LOU2 look more accomplished than most of them ofc, but budget and studio size wise you can see the difference. Sony is better at creating hype and I'm sure the first we'll see of PS5 will be stellar even if what was presented today will be the same on PS5.
