What do you think of PS5's look

I remember when folks bitched about the Gamecube when it was unveiled, and mocked the controller. Now, folks speak fondly of said controller, and no one cares what the Gamecube looked like.

The games are all that matters, and I will buy a PS5 at launch.

An all white console is extremely insensitive during this trying time. Do you know how insentitive it is for a console that has always been black to all of the sudden be white?

Looks typically gamey. I prefer the PS4 design over this and also the Series X design.
I've said this in the other thread but this is like the Alienware of consoles.

The disc version looks even worse.

I'm not really digging it. Looks a bit "extreme", but the lighting will help a lot. Especially if you can choose the color.

However, that controller might just be the best design ever. Can't wait to try it.

What they should have done is make the base a bit thicker to house the BR drive and get rid of that ugly curvy white shell. The digital version looks like you can do it.

If you get rid of the white shell, it looks like you could have got something close to this sweet mock up.

I was one of the people shitting on the new xbox but I like it a lot better now. It's just a black box but it doesn't look like 2000s tech that was trying to look futuristic.
 
Maybe it's just the render, but those plastic feels really cheap.
PS5 will rely on it's plastic: if they feel cheap, PS5 will looks like a chinese router; if they are good, the console will be received as a premium product.
 
It is okay. I prefer my connected boxes to the TV not to stand out, and this well, stands out. It is not ugly, it just doesn't go in my "adult" house. If I was younger, I would probably be all over it, so I understand the love for it. But for someone who is older, I don't need my electronic devices a focal point in my living room. When I have a party, I don't need people asking, "hey what is that white thing under your TV". It just doesn't flow with the other things.

Like I said not ugly, and I can see where people like it. But it just does not fit in my living room.
 
Meh, it doesn't matter how it looks, it can look beautiful or ugly, If it has games I want then I'm going to buy it regardless how it looks.
 
Looks like a plastic router w/ cool lights.

If it came all matte & not scratchable glossy plastic, I think I'd like it more.

All of my electronics are black. I could maybe handle all white but the two tone colour makes it even worse, makes it look cheap.

Even if it was all black it would still be ugly. The shape is so odd.

it will be locked away in a draw/cupboard and not on display.

Love the design! Looks futuristic. It does feel like the digital version's slightly prettier than the physical, but I wouldn't let that sway me into buying the digital one.
