Their branding on the official site uses the space and all caps for the abbreviated form:first, Sony: it's psvr, nobody uses the space
PS VR
Obviously when we type psvr in a conversation it's different, but PS VR looks good.

No support means they won't provide support for you getting the ds4 to work. Doesn't mean it's not going to work.
I have absoluteley no problem with developers making use of the DualSense and making it a requirement, but this here is Sony globally saying nonono.I could already see fanboys getting mad at developers that chose to make the DualSense a requirement. It would discourage devs from using the new DualSense features.
Fuck them!
Now I'll have to wait for arcade stick adapter to play future fighting game exclusives.
No way I buy another 200€ stick.
Won't have this problem on Xbox series X.

Nice that they're gonna hand those things out.
Lame, I was kinda hoping for full DS4 support.
set that kid a'workin', time the little shrimp pulled his weight anyhow!!I know, but at least we could have basic support. Gonna be too costly for me to buy two more DualSenses just to play Sackboy with my wife and kid.
- No DS4 support for PS5 games
- No support for 3rd party Bluetooth headsets again
Sigh...
It only makes perfect sense if you have came to terms with the fact you're literally being ripped off.
The DS4 has buttons and can take input, there is literally nothing to stop it working.
They just don't want to because "future". Thank the lord I won't need to change my Elite controller, it will just work.
what's there to sigh about? Why on earth would you use dualshock 4 on a ps5 game when you already have dualsense bundled in with every console or dualsense would offer much better comfort and immersion than dualshock4 for ps5 games.
God the Dualsense better have a back button attachment, preferably at launch. Gotten so used to using it with DS4 that going back to not being able to use it with PS5 games would suck ass.
You are not ready for this cringe:

Will Dualsense work on PS4?

Being grumpy about having to buy two more controllers just to play Sackboy with my family. And another console with zero support to BT headsets is a pain in the ass.what's there to sigh about? It's quite simple, for support to flourish you need to cut ties to the anchor. This is no different to PS5 support, vs Xbox family of consoles support.Classic Sony, so basically you'll just buy new controllers... I get that you do this for games that actually use those specific features, but for other games they should have let you use the DS4.
The only developers going to use all of this are first party, or 3rd party that make exclusive games. Because all the others also have to support Xbox controllers and PC. So if you are already supporting Xbox and PC too, then you can already support the DS4.It's quite simple, for support to flourish you need to cut ties to the anchor. Sony making the right call to usher in a new generation. Nothing more to it.
How do you know that? What if Sony is providing API's for e.g. a trigger pull feedback that takes no effort to implement in a game over and above just a call to it.The only developers going to use all of this are first party, or 3rd party that make exclusive games. I get that you do this for first party or exclusive games, but not for every PS5 game. That doesn't push anything forward, that's just getting more money from your consumers.

You can blow in it till your hears content. Nostalgia for blowing into Nintendo cartridgesI'm not 100% up to date on DualSense but I thought it was just an upgraded version of the DS4? What new capabilities does the DS5 have that the DS4 doesn't have besides the Create button?
Then you are still able to provide both, right? Let's say Ubisoft implements it for Valhalla, then they still have the regular stuff for PC/Xbox, so why not also support DS4?How do you know that? Devs need to depend on the feature set to be there as standard to do Even the bare minimum. Otherwise you fail before you even started.
Looking at the battery life thread, most people have gone their entire PS4 gen with a single controller, they will get one with the console this gen too.
If Sony watered down the PS5 gen with past controllers, that would be the issue. This is the correct approach. Are you a PS4 player?
People do know that the console comes with a controller right?
Positive for me, positive for next gen. You can play it on pc with an Atari 2600 joystick if you and your family can't afford a jump to PS5. That's the world we live in....Until their next game comes out on PC, at which point you'll be able to play it with any controller. Except on PS5.
It's a bizzare and pointless line in the sand that pretty much only hits families. How could that be a positive?
InterestingIs the PlayStation Camera for PS4 compatible with PS5?
Yes, PlayStation Camera will work with PS5 for playing supported PS VR games. It will require a PlayStation Camera adaptor that will be provided at no additional cost to PS VR users. More details on how to get the adaptor will be announced at a later date.
Because the PS5 is about the best, the rest can just ogle on for next gen envyThen you are still able to provide both, right? Let's say Ubisoft implements it for Valhalla, then they still have the regular stuff for PC/Xbox, so why not also support DS4?
Really? Is that your answer? You must have felt great with the second job suggestion from PS3 '599' debacle.set that kid a'workin', time the little shrimp pulled his weight anyhow!!
