Just imagine Gamepass as it is right now, but with all Bethesda games exclusive and day one: existing and entries of doom, the elder scrolls, dishonored, fallout, etc etc and whatever new ips they are working on.

Playstation has been my bread and butter since 1999, but no one is more happy than me to see them take a kick in the pants. They're arrogant and their customer service sucks.
It annoys me how many bootlickers they have crawling out of the woodwork lately, so of course it's cathartic to see those same users pretending this is no big deal.

Sony needs this type of competition if they are going to get back to a place where I'm happy with them again.

And good for X-Box. They deserve every win they can get because they are clearly working hard to win back customers. They have the right attitude.

Yes I felt it was. Doom 2016 felt fresh. Eternal felt like a redux on this. More mobility, more weapons, improved visuals.... but lacking that key ingredient.... freshness. That's why I am blown away that Eternal is I the GoTG comp over 2016.

Some people are in denial. You don't spend $7.5 billion on IPs you give to your competition.

In all honesty, it's a winning move, a coup de gras even; but it isn't cool. Why not use 5 billion dollars to start up some new studios? The redundancy just makes my head hurt.

For reference, Disney bought Star Wars for 4 billion. This is a huge move. How in the f*ck will they ever get a return on this investment.
 
How many decades until they make that investment back? If this doesn't move consoles, that's a whole lot of money going into a pit.
I was just thinking how much money this was in Video Game terms, and you could fund a whole lot of studios and new franchises with it....this is some big dick move no doubt, i wonder if they are going to have the balls to keep the games console exclusive now, i imagine they would want to sell as many copies as possible with this big of an investment.

That is absolutely 100% not happening unless Saber rewrites the entire game from scratch. Even on a beefy PC, the game takes up to 3 minutes to load the fucking main menu. It's a good game once you get into a match, but holy shit does it take forever to do so.

We actually see different strategies at work:
  • MS buys big studios with a lot of IPs and established big development teams,
  • Sony buys a lot of small studios and give them new IPs and train them to grow.
Let's not forget something fondamental: if you don't have talent, your IPs will suck ass. We have seen that with Halo Infinite, we have seen it with TLOU2 (for different reasons of course, but I am trying to give a general idea of what I mean).

Makes me laugh seeing people say they're sad they can't play 'x' or 'y' game again. Erm. Gaming PC? Or you know, buy a cheap Xbox? Don't be blinded by your hatred.
