People want Sony to buy Konami so those IPs *would* be made again.

I personally would like to see Iga hired for Castlevania, and Kojima brought back for MGS and Silent Hill.

I only care for Wolfenstein and Starfield looks interesting. There's always an option to pick up S or X down the line.
 
I don't know..... Play something else? It's not like I have all the time in the world to play all the games, and my backlog is big as it is so maybe I'll play those instead?
 
MS are selling the Series X with 24 months of game pass ultimate for £28.99 /m for 24 months. It is tempting me. Before the news today, I had no idea that this deal existed. Just over the past few days alone I had started to look into game pass to see what kind of value it offers. I googled Xbox series X tonight and found that deal within a minute. I'd never have done that without today's news.

I may go with both consoles now for this gen. And possibly Xbox first.
 
Only thing I'm remotely interested in is Dishonored. Doom is top quality but not my sort of thing. Wolfenstein was fun but has zero staying power with me.

Frankly find stuff like Elder Scrolls & Fallout to be utterly dull, I never quite got the appeal, they've always felt barren, buggy and clunky. The latter even moreso with their last car crash.

Personally it barely effects me; and if I do find myself really wanting to play something, there's always PC.

Sorry for those who like their games though.*

*Unless you in any way supported Fallout 76; in which case you deserve this.. =P

Rage 2 was one of the worst shooters I have ever played and New Colossus and Youngblood were awful... certainly nowhere near as good as New Order and Old Blood.

Evil Within 2 wasn't as good as 1 but it wasn't horrid, and Deathloop looks garbage. Maybe ES6 and Starfield will be good but who knows. After Fallout 76 I don't trust a word they say.
 
I only give a damn about Elders Scrolls, which I think will still be on PlayStation.

If not ... eh 🤷‍♂️

Im not buying 2 consoles. And Naughty Dog makes Playstation a must have for me, period.

Highly interested in Fallout 5 and ES6. Not interested in Starfield. I would, however, be interested in KOTOR 1+2 remake and KOTOR 3 by Obsidian.

Pre existing contracts. MS doesn't wanna break them. Not that much different than Spider-man and X-Men movies still being released by Sony and Fox even after Disney bought Marvel.
 
Imo there was good balance between the two. However it is Microsofts lack of implantation of thier studios that make them look bad compared to Sony. I give them Playground Games as a solid studio the rest just seem to float.

I guess Microsoft's answer is just to purchase more studios and segregate the them behind gamepass instead of just playing the traditional game. I really hope Sony puts the foot down and gives them a big fuck you with exclusively out of any Japanese license at this point (Capcom, Square etc just like the PS2 era)

I was open to just giving support on PC but then I remembered it's all about gamepass. And I won't be able to directly own any of it.

Sorry, MS makes the most money in gaming through Xbox. PC is the last place they want consumers invested in (outside of Playstation) since you'll probably be able to get almost all of Bethesda next gen catalog for the price of one year's gamepass ultimate....and you actually get to own them.

So in 2 to 3 years, if this acquisition actually produces some must have games, I'll consider an Xbox. But I'm not buying one on maybes.
 
Fallout 4 was so bad and disappointing that I honestly could not care less about not being able to play future Bethesda games on PlayStation.

Yes I'm sure all those like 8 studios they acquired with proven track records will all just forget how to make games. Definitely wait and see.
 
Dishonored is the only thing I care about from the buyout and I can play that on PC if they ever do another one.

The PS5 isn't out yet. No-one in this thread is a "PS5 only gamer." Besides, what kind of responses did you expect from this thread? People just crying?
 
If Arkane releases another immersive sim after Deathloop I'll buy an Xbox for that and replaying old Halo games, sure. I would also be sold if they remade the cancelled Prey 2 lol.

Nothing else Zenimax does is must play for me. Congrats to all their staff though, MS pays better than most video game studios.
 
For Bethesda games always go for PC, not sure why this change anything. Sony's first party studios are the game to play on PS5.
 
I don't play them, but weren't there countless threads before about how they sucked on sony platforms?

I'm sure that's been talked to death, but I'm just now catching up.
 
It's probably coming to pc at the same time as consoles. Gamebryo games run like shit on consoles so you probably better buying the pc version


Doom will be missed tho
