That's a bit of stretch. Every MGS game has been ported to other systems outside Lemon Party. It didn't even start on the PS brand either. No just no.

You lack reading comprehension, I didn't say it was an exclusive. Now count all the metal gear games, including the psp games, and tell which platform they showed up the most, or do I have to do the work for you?

Too bad after that finely tuned tutorial section the rest of the map and the game are the most bland copy pasted designs I've ever seen in a "AAA" game. I'd seriously rather play any Ubisoft game than replay BotW again. It has to be the most overrated, undeserving game of all time. I think the only reasons people like it are 1) obvious Nintendo bonus points and 2) handheld. Take those two things away and really examine it for its own merits and it completely falls apart. Garbage game.

"MGSV is a PlayStation game" is a very different statement than "MGS is a PlayStation franchise".
 
Systemic Open Wolrd Game vs Systemic Open World Game, i'm picking the complete one since they are both pretty even on the design.

How so? You stated "MGSV is a Playstation game, and the Witcher is multiplatform". Both are multiplatform in every sense.

Meanwhile, I could see you somewhat making the case that MGS is a Playstation franchise, but even that is a dubious statement like Slowmotion pointed out.
 
Both games had bad stories that hurt the rest of the game, but for Zelda, that's almost a non-issue. For MGS it was criminal.

It's BOTW.

The problem with BOTW is it completely fumbles on really basic stuff, literally the weapons and the dungeons. I have no problem with the idea of weapon durability but Zelda's implementation is ridiculous.

The dungeons are also trash:

- Boss dungeons: these inexplicably have ps2 graphics and not even very good ones, and are very bland and poorly designed, and worst of all: they're not connected to the main world. You literally can't venture too far out. It's the same "mission zone" bullshit everyone criticizes RDR2 for. The bosses are all uninspired variants of the same boss and their fights are just an embarrassing mess compared to even the most basic bosses in past games.

- Shrines: these are extremely repetitive and they almost feel randomly generated.

I can't accept for a Zelda game not to get weapons, dungeons and bosses right.

Both of you lack reading comprehension and putting words in my mouth. I stated multiple times I didn't say exclusive, but you keep saying that I did. All I said was that Metal Gear Solid games are synonymous with the Playstation, and that's a fact considering how many games showed up on that platform, heck MGS4 hasn't been on any other platform, so unless your dense as fuck, that's not the same as exclusive.

MGSV's poor narrative compared to the previous games is still half decent compared to most titles, and I don't get why BOTW gets a free pass with it's lack of a narrative, yeah Zelda games normally lack a substantial main storyline but this is simply a game vs game matchup, you judge on what they have in their locker, and MGSV has a better narrative.

Imo it also has better gameplay, mission design, AI, player freedom and replay-ability factors, it is all up to personal opinion, but I don't see why the woeful narrative in BOTW should get a free pass.

You're contradicting yourself again. You're bringing MGS3 and 4 into the equation to justify saying MGSV is a PlayStation game (btw MGS3 is on DS, 360 and the One; the only MG games exclusive to PlayStation at this point are 4 and portable ops), while saying that MGS isn't a Playstation franchise. You have to see how that doesn't make any sense, right? You can't have it both ways. It's one or the other. Now you're trying to backpedal and say that you mean it's not exclusive, but it's somehow a PlayStation game whereas Witcher 3 isn't despite them both launching on the same platforms?

You're wrong in every sense of the word.

I don't dislike any of the games, I don't love any of them either... I played both, didn't finish either... tough choice... voted for Zelda, since I prefer that franchise a lot more (even though BotW is the least Zelda type Zelda game I have ever played).

It's not most titles though, it's a Metal Gear Solid game. The core gameplay has always been great, but the plot was what elevated it beyond a mere stealth action game, and compared to every other MGS game, V told an incredibly lacklustre tale.

The plot in Zelda has, frankly, always been sort of superfluous. Ancient evil awakens, princess is in danger, silent hero collects McGuffins and saves the day, the end; some variation on that. I've beaten every single mainline Zelda game and I couldn't tell you the details from most of the games, save for the especially memorable ones like MM. It doesn't even come close to the sprawling scale and insanity of the ongoing MGS story, and I think V is hurt far more from weak storytelling that BOTW.

Also, V may offer great player freedom in-mission, but it doesn't come close to the fact that you can literally go from tutorial to endgame in BOTW if you're skilled/knowledgeable enough. 97% of the game is optional and it's up to the player to decide what to do.

I corrected myself with MGS3, I forgot about the 3ds, still doesn't change anything, nothing I said was wrong, but something is seriously wrong with your reading comprehension, I recommend you take some reading classes.
 
I've voted MGS and Zelda every round so far. This is where I have to choose Zelda unfortunately, but it's great to see MGS beat RDR2.

The weapon system in Zelda doesn't bother me in the slightest. I like constantly scrambling the world for weapons. I feel a game where your weapon breaks and you have to go to a town to repair it is more of an inconvenience than weapons that break fast, but you have a constant supply. There's less of an attachment to BOTW weapons compared to a game where you've dumped a bunch of upgrades on your favourite axe and then you have to travel to a town and repair it.

Anyway Zelda gets the vote, but MGS is brilliant.
 
Breath of the Wild gets my vote.
I already played Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory back in 2005 and loved it. This new remake was unnecessary.

It's literally the only Nintendo game I've played in the last decade, like the one and only, and it's easily my favorite game of all time (haven't touched a Nintendo since). It's just that good.

these things usually come down to popularity contests, but this time BoTW is going to win bc it deserves, imo
 
The funny thing will be seeing all these people adoring Botw saying how it was not actully all that great compared to Botw 2.

When Botw 2 comes out and it turn out a much more complete game than Botw, then fanboys will admit their bias

Going for MGS V as I had more fun experimenting in that game. Couldn't finish BotW because of the weapon durability. By far the worst decision Nintendo has ever made.
 
Zelda for me.

It amazes me how much better Zelda BotW could be and its still one of the best games of the generation. I cant wait for BotW 2.
 
I would've voted BotW here no matter what, though a part of me is also feeling joy doing it to beat the Witcher 3 (pushing out Bloodborne is unforgivable). As a long time MGS fan MGSV was just trash to me, though probably the masturbating dream of some of the Just Cause open world junkies here about "muh gameplay" (half of which link videos that are just archetypical open world genre skits) in a terrible unfinished story and a pointlessly big and empty open world, along with pointless additions of the worst managerial features from Peace Walker. Ground Zeroes was a much better experience and would've loved to see the game going far more in that direction.

BotW is also overhyped, having so many fundamental issues (many of which are mentioned here. Breakable weapons just feels shitty and leads to pointless menuing. Shrines are just a fucking chore and Divine Beasts temples aren't a good replacement for dungeons. Disappointing bosses, etc, including also general open world design problems) , basically crippling it so that it wouldn't be able to earn a top 3 Zelda spot, or maybe not even a top 5 Zelda spot depending. That said there's far less wrong with BotW than there's with MGSV and more so there's far better heights with Zelda as well, far more positives.

Also really sad that Bloodborne fell out. At least that game only had a problem with accessibility in terms of weapon builds and problems with Arcane and Hunter Tools. And on the performance side, frame pacing and CA (though it never bothered me).

Still the best selling zelda ever by a landslide...on the other side, cartridges instead of cds has something to say about the 'worst decision' they ever made XD
 
I wasn't going to vote because I haven't played botw, but I wanted to see who was winning and it wouldn't allow me to do so without voting, which is wack. So there is at least one vote that shouldn't count. But it doesn't matter since it's looking like an easy win for botw. MGSV shouldn't have beat RDR2 anyway so it has no right being here anyway.
 
Both amazing games but Kojima Sama = Love So he gets the vote.

Plus I spent like 300 hours in MGS and the online. But BOTW was amazing. But weapon break sucks...

Breath of the Wild is one of the greatest games of all time. MGS5 is a great game mechanically, but the story is mediocre. I would also loved to have seen the final act of MGS5 with the Lord of the Flies stuff.

Breath of the wild gave off an amazing sense of adventure, that I have rarely felt playing video games.

The trailers for MGS5 were more interesting to me than any Zelda game have ever been.

So yeah... (And yes, I know this is a highly subjective opinion.)
