You've never played a souls game? I'll have you know that they're also available on xbox. Give them a try, they are plenty cheap these days.

Its being overhyped due to it bein exclusive. If it wasnt exclusive nobody would be freaking out. There are a lot of games with better detailed environments and characters. They wont admit that tho.

Bluepoint tends to do a very good job with their remakes. And I don't blame people for being excited for this game.

Have you seen better looking games than this on consoles?

You need to play one. The fact you're saying you need 'more to do' when fighting enemies means you've never fought enemies the way they are presented in a Souls game. Every single enemy from the entire game can kill you very quickly if you're not concentrating. These aren't the games for people with short attention spans or who just want to mow a load of easy enemies down.

Seriously, dark souls 3 on xbox is like 20 bucks. Play it and come back once you know what you're talking about. Because it sounds like you're doing the standard "i'ma troll an exclusive that's not on my system of choice" song and dance.

It's being hyped because a lot of old Souls players have been asking for a DeS remake for a long time especially those that came in on Dark Souls and missed DeS, although I was hoping it would be on PC, this is the next best thing. Maybe Sony will throw us a crumb and port it to PC in a years time.

I remember the campaign to get them to port dark souls 1 to pc and it was a resounding success!

Unlike character action games like DMC, Souls games aren't 100% about the combat, so don't expect the same amount of combos, skills and such.

Those games (imo) are about exploration and overcoming challenges that might seem imposible at first glance, not about getting a SSS rank.

I don't need to post a wall of screenshots. I'm speaking with my subjective opinion just like everyone else. We all have a right to it. What's 'good for the goose is good for the gander. You guys have a right to speak in every 3rd party videogame thread and tout how a PS5 exclusive game is superior graphically. Others have the same right.

I'm speaking of nearly every AAA PC game that has come out in the last 2 years. The rendering quality is literally on average with this kind of quality. I can name FS2020 which looks superior to this game's graphics features and quality. I could move on to the RT enabled games as well. DS doesn't really have enormous detail. I'm not sure why people think that. There are several games that have better tessellation of geometry and better lighting. Horizon, TLOU 2 and Crysis Remake on PC are such games.

Kind of surprised you guys are super hyped. The game looks fine, but honestly almost every second of gameplay in that video looked too clean and lacked any emotional impact for me. The models for most of the bosses look a bit too clean. I would never say that it looks bad, but .... I felt absolutely nothing watching that entire thing. Looked like a well made, hollow imitation.

My friend regrets buying a thousand dollar prebuilt recently after seeing some of these games.
He keeps texting me "bruh give me some good single-player recommendations that will showoff my power for PC please.." And every game I name is almost exclusive :D or we already game shared on PS4. Poor guy!
 
only played bloodborne on ps4pro so i wanna know...........how is the gameplay in this compared to that cuz this remake looks incredible.
 
I just pre ordered the deluxe digital cause I want it all, have the deluxe version of the first one on the shelve too.

Now with this, 2+ years of Gamepass ultimate set up and a backlog on the ps4 I don't think I'll need to buy anything for a very long time.
 
I never cared for Demon's Souls... I played Bloodborne and found the world amazing (didn't beat it). BluePoint should remake it. This game looks great (still won't play it) graphically, and probably hard as hell.

They have a mode for that with the PS3 original filter
 
Just watched it again on my 4K oled TV. I think it's the most impressive game I've ever seen... Can't wait. I'm not that good at Souls games though, so I'll need coop or just use magic.

You definitely cause blood damage on the Vanguard, it was even commented by people who did impression videos. Look how clean his belly is at the beginning of the fight and how bloody it becomes afterwards.



Also, the way you slash at the Flamelurker causes wounds of fire to splat out from his body in the way you slash him, it is definitely noticeable when the character does a vertical swing. Apparently the flamelurker is supposed to have fire as blood and his rock exterior quickly closes up ala WOlverine healing factor to prevent further flame from leaking out of his body.

 
Holy shit, I cannot stop listening to the Flamelurker's theme. In the original it was a slumbering death march, here is a tragic epic, as if the game tries to make an epic saga out of your hopeless quest ... I love it.

I feel like while I did get pretty far in the original there was always the alternative of experiencing these games via twitch streamers, but I feel like the graphical immersion will be lost in the encoding and artifacts presented via watching streams.
 
The game looks phenomenal. If you need to try to convince someone else that it does, then you're doing it wrong. All that should matter is what you think of it. I think the game looks tits. More please.
 
Does this have raytracing? It's the best looking next gen game so far regardless - I'm just wondering how big of a difference RT actually makes

Yes. That's because when you ignore someone, they remove the quotes too but not the post including the quote, which makes things difficult to understand.
