While I'm a fan of $40 games I have to wonder how many people will pay for it when similar games are free to play. It's possible that Sony has something special here, but from the gameplay in the trailer I didn't see what it was.
it's absolutely going to happenAnyone wanna take bets on it becoming F2P within 18 months of launch?

6 months: 50% discount
12 months: PS plus
18 months: buried and studio closed
Going by TikTok comments, a lot of people seem to compare it to Destiny as much as OW.The gunplay looks a lot better than these types of games, so that’s what id be in for
Concord seems to have a lot more vertical gameplay compared to OW though.$40 to play the same game you already have access to.

Yea, if they are just trying to copy the Helldivers model I don't think it will go how they expect. Helldivers was the most fresh multiplayer experience of the generation, easily. Totally unique on the market.I'm curious how this will work out for them.
On the one hand Helldivers 2 was super successful at that price point.
BUT this game has more direct competitors which are all F2P, and the zoomer target audience they are clearly aiming for is used to games being F2P
