The Xbox One version ?
It makes perfect sense. There is no "NextGen version", it is a game that is played via BC. That's why there is no native version of PS5 either. In XS the XBO version will be played via BC

So the MT Framework not supporting next gen rumor and was broken in an Xbox SDK update is true then?

When you see that Capcom launched all its games and compilations (including games with ridiculous sales prospects) on Xbox and only skipped collections of retro games with that specific feature.... The most logical and simple option was the one that had the most options be true 🤷🏻

that makes not only financially a lot of sense, but on PS5 also logically.

on PS5 a PS5 version of this collection would in a hilarious twist be a downgrade over a PS4 version.
many PS4 controllers and sticks that people might want to use aren't compatible with PS5 games. but they are compatible with PS4 games when played on PS5.

so yeah. the PS5 version would be useless on a tech/performance level, and a downgrade when it comes to controller/stick support

You haven't understood me. I say "perfect sense" as long as there is no PS5 version and only PS4..... it makes perfect sense that on Xbox there is no XSeries version either and they only name it XBO.

That there is no native NextGen version certainly makes no sense. And even more so when we are in year 4 of the generation.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

It kind makes a lot of sense for all the fighting game peripherals that aren't cross-gen compatible.

That and these games will run 4K/60 or 120hz anyway. A dedicated current gen version isn't going to add anything specific.

2025? This game is releasing this month on every other platform.

Too late for Vol 1, but Vol 2 will probably release at the same time next year.

I don't understand why they can't just also have a version labeled for the "latest" consoles. I get that they are trying to target a wider audience given the type of game but having a separate version for latest gen won't stop that. Just have old gen and new gen version.

and I just explained why it absolutely makes perfect sense that there is no PS5 and Series X version. on PS5 it would LITERALLY be a downgrade over a PS4 version. literally literally... not figuratively, I have to emphasize this: literally a downgrade.
and on Xbox it wouldn't add any benefits over an Xbox One version.

so now I wonder how you can in any way think that there should be a PS5 version of this, when it would look the same, run the same, load at the same speed... but lack controller and stick support... how would such a version make sense to release?

I have a ps5 fightstick ?

that, ironically, i can use on my ps2 and dreamcast and OG Xbox with a brooks converter to play MvC2 :D

Id love a native ps5 version , and its a miracle we get this game at all, but the tweet above reads so damn depressing, we couldnt get our shit running on your xbox s/x , so we release it on your xbox one, that u stopped manufacturing in 2020 btw, oh releasing in 2025 btw, when it releases next month on all other consoles. and pc. and they expect this stuff to sell ?

Controller compatibility is already an important reason. Loading times are going to be better than via BC and, looking ahead, a native version would help ensure future compatibility in the next generation. For those who collect, the physical box.

We're talking about games that can be played on any emulator and an adaptation to XSeries and PS5 should require little or no work. The fact is that they have similar collections and those do have a NextGen version.🤷🏻

When you buy the NextGen version, doesn't it also give you the right to the OldGen version? I think you do more damage by preventing players of the new consoles from enjoying the options they offer just to save the controller compatibility of the previous one.

When 99.9% of the time games release a NextGen version, it is incomprehensible that one does not exist in this case. We are in year 4 of the gen🤷🏻
