Nintendo Switch 2 |OT| Switch 2 Nintendo, because now we're playing with power

Bit of both really. Like the Switch 1 pad but firmer, a bit clickier, and more raised.
Definitely sounds like a notable improvement. I'm pumped!

Oh, it looks like the dock still has two normal USB ports, and the camera itself has a USB-C port. So you can just use a USB-C to standard USB cable and keep it connected to the dock.

Crisis averted!
Just tested and the camera was recognised. Phew!

My nephew and I are at the GameStop Switch 2 launch party. He won a raffle, so he got a Funko toy. This is awesome. Probably about 50-60 people here.

Only about an hour to go!

What are my chances of just walking into a local Currys or Argos and just grabbing one of the shelf tomorrow? Could not get the pre-order in as I was too busy with work.

Arrange this well known phrase. Hope I am wrong though.

"Cat in hell's a not chance"
It is available for pick up in store @ Smyths Toys. I have ordered the MK bundle online, should be getting it delivered by tomorrow. It seems Nintendo has healthy stock, atleast in the UK.

Anyone with the console already? I'd like to know how are the new Joycons compared to previous ones? How do they compare to Switch 1 Pro Controller?

The joycons are a little nicer than the old ones due to their size but feel remarkably similar, in the grip at least. They don't compare to the new Pro controller, which is superb.

I mainly play in docked, but had a little while in handheld. There is a slight flex to the joy cons when attached - it's mushy though, not a clicky wobble. It won't bother me much but those with OCD will pick up on it. The way they click in is very satisfying. The screen obviously the big improvement. I'm not blown away by the sound.

Switching everything over from the Switch 1 was very easy, moved all my family accounts over then started downloading software in background.

Mario Kart feels different, more loose, lesss tight. I'm not sure about it yet. The free roam was pretty crap, but the new tracks I played in Grand Prix were great, especially the DK course. I'll need another title so I might pick up Zelda Echoes, which I skipped, the launch line up isn't great.

I had exactly the same mildly unimpressed take on the first Switch when I got it, and it ended up being one of my favourite consoles ever, because of the software. Hopefully this is the same.

Echos was pretty fun, I liked it as long as your expectations are within reason it's worth a play through.

Was first in line at GameStop, literally asked them earlier today what the process was. They opened the doors and now I'm like 20th in line because I didn't get a sticker on my receipt today. Seriously, what the hell?! I paid for this in full on preorder day and literally asked them before close what the process was. I forgot how incompetent this company is.

The number of systems Nintendo is supplying worldwide is utterly insane...
It is. Considering how nuts the PS5 and Series X launches were, this is smooth sailing. In fairness, shipping was screwed up back then, but Nintendo got a lot of consoles in stores and deserve credit for it

I drove to my local Gamestop on a whim 15 minutes before midnight. Line went out the whole mini-mall out to the street's sidewalk. Easily 50+ people for that small store. I'm not that anxious for a Switch 2 (I just got a new PC), so I noped out.

Drove past my local Best Buy and GameStop on my way to work just now. Both probably had around 50-60 people in line! Keep the impressions coming folks!

Mines started selling, and they made everybody complete the transactions by 11:30. They're still taking for fucking EVER, like 3+ minutes per person.

When I went to the Switch 1 launch at BB, they had all the shit stacked up, look at your receipt, gave you the 2,3,4 things you preordered and you were gone in like 30 seconds

Joy-Con magnets seem kind of weak to me. There's a little play, especially in the right one. Anyone else's like that?

I'm in line to grab mine. Holy smokes the lines are insane… The in store purchase line is around the corner. The preordered line goes far off into the distance where the eye can no longer see.

I thought, store opens at 9pm. I'll get there at 9:45. The super early people would have cleared out and I will just walk in. Nah bruh, we gonna make base camp here and head for the summit tomorrow.

There has got to be several hundred people here in line at my local Best Buy in Los Angeles.
