Battlefield 6 Multiplayer reveal - 31st July 2025 (11:30 PT // 14:30 ET // 19:30 UK)

Can i redeem the key in my steam account already linked with ea account?

Is there ea account website? I don't install their client in my new pc

Are the codes single use? Won't i be wasting time copying and pasting but its already used up? No way should we forced to farm codes by keeping our eyes and fingers locked on to content creators crap!

But assault can still pick sniper, right? So it might be that we get a whole new breed of assault class campers now lol.
Yep, sniper + second primary like a shotgun, stim shot, spawn beacon, ability to spot close enemies.
The Assault class with open weapons will just be the new recon...
It's just such a bad idea to let classes use all weapons...

Yeah I really hope they just lock the weapons to classes. They want to have their cake and eat it too by trying to cater to the CoD crowd. I suspect that after the beta ends we'll see a message closer to launch saying "we heard you loud and clear, weapons are tied to classes" or something to that effect.

It depends on how they implement it, if they make the open classes mode the default and hide the closed classes mode in some arbitrary menu the casuals will just flock to the default and completely skew the matchmaking numbers in favour of the wild west.

But even then I'll concede that when a casual player reads the description and sees that one mode allows every weapon and the other locks them he'll choose the former. I do give modern FPS players as little credit as I can.

They already said they will do both at launch. If you want locked, just play on locked playlist
And how about not splitting the player base? How about respecting what makes this series great? How about Dice acting like the message haven't already been sent loud and clear that people WANT classes lock?

I'm tired of people trying to excuse stupid decision by the devs. We already have battlepass and heavy MTX, so can we stop the "everything is fine" or in your case "just do this" type of bullshit?

The message is not that clear, thats why they doing both. Lots of people want open weapons too.

Nah, trust me it was crystal clear. Anyone that followed this know the response was super negative with 2042, so much that they added locked weapons after a while. So no, the community knows what they want but for some reason (probably in relation to catering to the COD audience) they act like it needs to be tested AGAIN when the previous game already did just that (and miserably failed).

And remember, bf labs starts again after the end of the beta so they can implement and test the open beta feedback before launch

When can we play ?
Tomorrow for early access

A couple of months back they released a 'deep dive' on classes, where they said it would be open only.

Since the backlash they've now pivoted to both.

I would be amazed if by launch they haven't picked one or the other.

By the way I don't know how it works on here, if there are usually multiplayer threads for this. I'll be playing on Steam from tomorrow, feel free to add me.

^ Given how accurate the weapons are combined with the low TTK, there needs to be incentives to expose yourself and lay down supporting fire against chokepoints or specific areas where enemies are hiding. That was actually one of my favorite things to do in BF3.

I just launched the beta for shits and gigs, at the start screen it said servers are at max capacity... I was placed in a queue of 23,000+ just to get to the menu. Lol.
I think this will be a rough beta with server capacity

Its misleading. Only 12k people on steam and there is already a que. Do you really think thats all the server capacity they have? :)

So I have early access to the beta without realizing it. I know I had signed up for Labs a while back but I never got the early access e-mail that most other people received.

I used this from Reddit to confirm my access

I thought this didn't start until tomorrow (early access). But I just logged on from PC and I'm at 21k in the queue. Interesting.
It's just because no server is open rn, so everyone launching the game is in a queue for now.

This is a good change

Apparently, plenty of Frostbite SMEs left throughout the years, with positions unfilled, the resources that are available are dedicated to the big money EA titles. I can only imagine incorporating BF4 style suppression into a Frostbite title which includes bots probably requires a lot of skill to not have the engine freak the fuck out.

Only explanation I can come up with for this weak shit band-aid.

They probably wouldn't physically be able to recreate BF4, it's essentially lost ancient technology, that's wild.

Gone... like tears in the rain... sheeeeit.

Got a sneaky feeling they're gonna see all these people waiting and open the servers early. Would be a good way to open the floodgates without everyone trying to log in at once tomorrow morning.

Nah can't see it. Would be nice but unless DICE want no sleep tonight best doing it first thing in the morning.

This is going to be huge at the weekend, and a total shit show tomorrow.

Makes sense them opening at 9am UK time, us Brits love a queue.
Yeah I think its 4 am my time.

I am up every day at 5 am to go for my run so I will log into the queue and get my run in, maybe will be ready by the time I get back :)

If I get in quick if might be a cheat day and not run

I'll sneak an hour in here and there between meetings tomorrow then hopefully things will have settled down by the evening when I can get on proper.

I take it we are just using this thread for the Beta Shenanigans? Don't see the point in an OT just for a weekend or 2?

Someone can sure make a new thread if you I mean they feel like it ;)

Will this game have kernel level anti cheat?

edit: oh snap

Nice, gauntlet's been thrown down lol, now we see if EA can do what Activision couldn't.
