The smart ones among us knew GamePass's low initial price wasn't sustainable and would kill game sales

Unfortunately you weren't so smart, and now you're upset having invested in Xbox over the last 12 years. The whole time I've encountered you've continued to deny reality and post your delusions on this forum.

No matter what MS says the trust is gone between gamers and the current leadership

Just 4 games being straight up a lie has destroyed any credibility they had

IF they want to remotely save Xbox they have to clean house with their current regime and basically start over

Have been saying it for quite awhile but Phil has to go and take Bond with him

They have lost. Just end the damn thing. This is not even a bang like Sega's end where people still talk about the games. The last Xbox with games worth preserving was 360.

Oh for sure they have lost (long ago) but I don't want to see Xbox go away

I actually prefer them give us an option and somewhat interested in the possibility of a higher priced much higher powered console

I have said many times before I would buy a higher priced PS6 Pro on day one if it launched the same day as the PS6

I'm sure production has been ramping down for quite a while, probably not as many as one would imagine. It's running about 3 to 1 currently, and that's in Xbox's strongest territory (US). In the rest of the world, the ratio is much worse.

The majority of sales will go to Playstation. Everybody who want GTA 6 on an Xbox has an Xbox sitting under their tv already. I doubt GTA 6 is going to inspire anybody to invest in a dead, overpriced console. Maybe Rockstar would do a Switch 2 version to counter Xbox failings? Could that be part of the delay?

No one is buying an Xbox to play GTAVI and MS knows that.

. At this point Xbox is more expensive than a PS5 in the USA as far as i know. (already the least bought console on the market by far)
. Sony always had marketing rights for GTA and i can't imagine them not having a PS5 + GTAVI bundle for next fall like they got for every major game like COD etc. (they even had a COD bundled with PS5 after MS bought Activision, lmao)

The game is basically a PS5 exclusive at this point.

So you got a cheaper PS5 than an Xbox Series plus GTAVI as a bundle...why is anyone buying your hardware?

On another note, the amount of people that i know that tell me they will buy a PS5 to play GTAVI is...something. Asking me for prices and stuff.

Think about it. The console makers must have known they were planning their own obsolescence in hardware buy pushing digital sales. It can't be that much of a shock. You cannot push digital sales and make retailers happy at the same time. No matter how you spin it, the math does not work out. Sell a digital copy of a game, retailers lose a sale. There is no happy medium there.
Then you have Nintendo pretending to sell you physical copies so they can stay at retail.
The writing is certainly on the wall.

PC gamers aren't console gamers. Physical PC games aren't a thing for about 20 years. We were still on PS2 in 2005 and PC gamers were barely buying physical games anymore and steam was already a thing before even the PS3.

Playstation and Nintendo are one thing Xbox never was: They are global brands that are sold in countries where internet connection isn't that great. They always relied on physical media and i don't see that changing at least for another generation.

What killed Xbox was that not only the software wasn't moving, the hardware wasn't as well. That's why retailers don't care.

Even if Nintendo and PS stop selling physical games why would retailers stop having space for their hardware and accessories? Because they don't make as much money? Well...aren't they selling computers and accessories for pc gamers? Are they removing those from their stores anytime soon? After all PC gamers don't buy physical games...yet computers made specifically for gamers are still sold in those same stores.

The problem here is just one: the market is rejecting Xbox hardware. It rejected their games and they had to buy the industry. It rejected gamepass and they had to release their stuff on Playstation and now it's rejecting their hardware and they are a 3rd party publisher. That's all.

Your points are vailid. I had seen Xbox reduced to a single cabinet in Target. I then read Target confirmed it finished with Xbox. And that it going to do the same glass case treatment to Nintendo and Playstation in the future. Could be baloney but the fact that Xbox was in a single small glass case, hardware, games, accessories smooshed together made it seem like this could be a reality. They had an entire aisle for Xbox just a week before. Their cause for this restructuring was digital sales killing game sales. The console has no profit margin, if you don't sell games you don't need the console either. Target is going to let Sony and Nintendo ride this Holiday but we will see what happens by March. (When people have usually used up whatever Xmas money they received).
A PC always serves at least a dual function as a productivity tool, and if you power it up enough it can play games. (Maybe not Apple LOL) It kills 2 birds with one stone. PC should always be on a shelf somewhere in retail.

Man, that's crazy.

There was a time when the rumor was a "day one PC" for PlayStation games. I didn't like it because it would compromise game development by prioritizing the "mess" of the PC, including committing to inferior hardware than the PS5 because it would have to run on the "average Steam PC."

You know what I decided? I would buy a PC to play, play my emulators, my old games, MP games with my friends at LAN parties, and simply forget about the PlayStation... When I wanted to play Horizon 3, I would wait for it to come out on the PC, upgrade to run it, and that was it.

Your problem is that you don't like hardware, video games, or technology; you were "evangelized" by the Xbox.

Microsoft controller production never really stopped. i wouldn't be surprised that they just move to the PC peripheral department when Xbox goes away.

How many of those do you think they've sold the last month, compared to PS5s ?

The answer would be barely fuck all. Why keep hardware you can't sell on your shelves, when you can replace with more of the one that actually does sell.

Competition is good for everyone. If sony were the only primary console maker (sans Nintendo) it would be fucking horrible.

At this point I hope so. Xbox One / Series X are by far the worst game case designs ever and usually result in damaged artwork one way or another. They had things right with the original Xbox cases and even the 360 cases before they ruined them with the "environmentally friendly" cut outs they did.

Unless those aren't even official cases in the first place, but I'm pretty sure I've opened new 360 games that used them either way they suck.
