Unpopular view: Nintendo should have stayed in the Wii world of creating unique, family-oriented, physical and otherwise experimental ways to enjoy gaming for the masses.
And use that subsidize the great traditional games, just as they did in the Wii era... which for example produced my favorite Mario entry ever in Galaxy, so I regard that casual + core Nintendo formula to be perfect.
They gave up on a space that was still full of potential, but I guess partly because braindead copycat systems from Microsoft Kinect and others sort of polluted and poisoned the space with low quality games. Only Nintendo can actually create inventive and polished games within this genre that don't feel like corporate soulless attempts to capture a market.

My reaction when I watched the video. I would imagine this is mostly doing well with non gamers (people who play mobile games at most).

I don't see how that gets traction. People have to invest in a system that only has 5 small games, and they have to sign up to a subscription service to get more?

Because it ain't aimed at us. It has no bearing on Sony or Nintendo. Completely different demographic (well, Nintendo does the family thing too but motion controls isn't the main Switch 1/2 hook). This is a family entertainment device, not something to interest ps5 or pc gamers. No one is giving up playing cyberpunk 2077 to play this shit.

I think any kid getting this instead of a switch 2 or ps5 would be as severely disappointed. And has horrible parents lol
The people who own it seems to love it it has high ratings
Keep in mind that these kids wasn't even born during the Wii and Kinect era this is all new to them.

I'm sure families with small children love this thing. Serious to moderate gamers will never look at this thing. Again this thing blatantly ain't aimed that the usual gaming demographic (especially those that remember the Kinect). There is nothing to suggest those that would buy a ps5 or switch 2 for their kid will buy this, especially if those kids want a ps5 or switch 2 (they will not like this thing one bit).
And that's what makes it a threat

To who?! There is no competition except for the motion control games on the Swtich 1/2 (which were/are not the majority of games). This is completely different demographic to long time gamers or teenagers. I very much this has any impact on the sales of ps5 or Switch 2. You can't play arc raiders or Mario kart on this thing.
