Nintendo Switch is the last man standing in exclusives

Their business model is that of a toy maker, so yes, selling their own hardware with unique software is the entire reason they exist. They will never willingly port their games to other systems. Maybe if things ever get as bad as in the Wii U era again.

Same. As they respect there fans they also earn allot of money from it.
They don't respect their fans at all. Nintendo treat their fans like shit.

But they do have the sense to know that your platform begins to crumble when it doesn't offer something unique and differentiated.

Never owned a cancer system from a cancer company. Greedy, anti-consumer, rehashed IP in different flavors that the fanbase can't stop fapping to because "nostalgia" while simultaneously always asking others to innovate with IP, being abused by predatory tactics to buy the same shit with a higher resolution for $40 every gen and lastly, it takes a certain level of depraved consensus to defend such a horrible company as if they actually care about you over profits.

Now if you excuse me, I have better things to do, like play amazing games.

And look at that drop in exclusives vs Nintendo. No wonder switch is doing so well in sales

Exclusives helped, but given how good exclusives still didn't save the WiiU...I think the hybrid form factor Nintendo came up with for the Switch was a bigger reason for its success. Combo-ing their console and handheld divisions into one system just gives them a better release cadence as well.

I'm still not compelled to want to jump into the Switch 2, and they gotta put more effort into Pokemon. One bright spot is we got another 3D Donkey Kong game at least.

Damn, Ps5 and XBS are absolutely abysmal. Even less than WiiU.

hence why I bought a Switch 2, sold all my ps4/ps5 games and trying to sell the ps5 with psvr2, we can get all Sony's exclusives on Pc anyways , I wont be buying a Ps6

Do they make more profit than Sony with that strategy?
I would assume Nintendo makes a ton more profit on their first party games than Sony. Nintendo have way smaller budgets, pretty much every title is sold for full-price for the entire generation, and tend to sell in the tens of millions.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo also churns out more first party titles than Sony in general in a year.

That's obvious, but they don't sell third party games as much as Sony.
Oh, for sure. With "strategy" I just assumed you meant each company's first-party strategy specifically, not in general.

I assume Nintendo makes more profit on their first party titles than Sony does despite Sony's also releasing on PC.

In general Sony makes more from what I've seen, at least in recent years:
Company2023–2024 FY Profits2024–2025 FY Profits
EA$1.2 Billion$1.1 Billion
Nintendo$3.5 Billion$2.2 Billion
PlayStation$1.9 Billion$2.8 Billion

When the industry collapses again and crashes. Nintendo will be the one standing to pick it all back up again. Hopefully their purusit of theme parks and movies doesn't cloud their gaming judgement. When times are tough, Nintendo will find a new paradigm for their own survival and the industry.
