Before it's too late, I just have one thing to say before the fateful The Game Awards happen... It's important.

Never forget.

We were all eagerly waiting for Elden Ring to finally make its appearance, and then they dropped this trash as the final reveal of the show

So your idea of announcements that would "set the world ablaze" is bunch of remakes? I mean I like good remake as much as the next guy but what makes me excited is new IP from my favourite dev or new entry from my favourite series.

Please, please have AT THE LEAST ONE actually juicy announcement that will set the world ablaze. 🙏

What would such a thing look like ?

I mean judging by internet chatter maybe Bloodborne 2 ? Not saying that wouldn't be cool and I'd definitely be interested, but would that really "set the world ablaze" ?

Half Life 3 is another one, but again its a sequel to an old game.

Given that people are so "meh" about almost every showcase, I'm not sure what expectations are anymore.

I just gave one example.

It is impossible for me to really get excited about completely new IPs until I actually experienced at least one entry.

I do have big hopes for Intergalactic, even though I only tried a few Naughty Dog games.

I was just exaggerating.

Basically, I would simply like to see at least one actually interesting announcement.

But its from my favourite devs I get super excited.....for example new IP from Monolith Soft?

That would be me.

I played, and finished Xenogears, watched Xenosaga anime, and played a bit of first Xenosaga game, and I guess I am familiar with Pyra, and Mithra from Xenoblade because of Rule34.

If anything, I definitely consider Xeno stuff as something that is to my liking.

I would rather juicy announcements were of new games and new IP not remakes lol....

MGS6
HL 3
Shenmue IV
XenoSomething
FF17
Sekiro 2
New From IP
New Intergalactic trailer
Stellar Blade 2
New Sony first party IP
New Halo

These are juicy.... remakes not so much.

It's never going to happen because why would a company give that moment to Geoff instead of doing it on their own platform.

The most that he will get is a very cool AA game reveal like they always do. The Xbox Series X reveal will probably be the biggest one the awards ever gets.

That's about as juicy as a block of wood.

You missed off a Last of Us remaster to make things extra juicy.

I'm sorry but you won't get any of this there. But some day you'll see Dino Crisis back.

Are you serious here? Remakes may be fun for fans but I wouldn't call that a juicy announcement. It's just a bunch of games most here has already played. Though one could argue that it's the same for new entries in most big IPs. Few devs today dare to think outside the box.

Agreed, OP. I'd personally like

Quake (5?)
A new Duke Nukem (yes, really)
Half Life 3
Something cool with dinosaurs
A true spiritiual successor to Wave Race 64, preferably on PC
A modern take on the old The Settlers 2 - in my book, nothing has come close ever since

1. Sony rebuilds Evolution Studios/Liverpool Studios with a Public apology to the team and announces:

MotorStorm Revolution
DriveClub 2
WipeOut 3099
And a new IP

2. Phil walks into the crowd and finally announces Sega is being acquired next Wednesday with Xbox Dreamcast 2 on the helm.

3. Nintendo walks on stage and then walks off.

4. Saudi's buy the Game Awards, EA, Ubi, Netflix and then make it all regional exclusive.

5. Google announces Stadia is coming back with a bigger ambition this time being led by Don Mattrick.

6. Naughty Dog announces The Last of Us Remaster Remake.

7. Neogaffers come on stage and finally admit they like talking shit on forums more than playing their games.

Whenever my wife tells me she's gonna announce something important, she just wants some attention. What followed was actually never important.

There will be some good games for sure. Maybe even a gigabomb, but that is also a subjective thing right.

One person would love a new Persona game and another one Wreckfest 3.

What we can rule out is that we get Half Life 3, Bloodborne 2, Max Payne 4, Metal Gear Solid 6, New Uncharted Game, Resident Evil Zero Remake, New Santa Monica Game, New The Elders Srolls, New Fallout Single Player game, New Duke Nukem, New Quake, Dark Souls 4, Star Wars 1313, Projekt Awakening.

All at once. Probably not even one of those. Too many rumors trigger our biases.

I was mostly just thinking out loud, because it seems to me that its extraordinarily hard to think of any sort of announcement that would have the same impact as in past decades.

It seems to me that technically we're at a point where there aren't massive gains yet to be made, and creatively the parameters are mostly known and fixed, so... beyond a favourite team/franchise/genre etc. making a welcome comeback for their fans, there really isn't much left to be wowed by.

The only message Geoff hears is how much the advertisers are spending. The only message the advertisers hear is many people are watching.

You know what to do.

tv show no GIF by Robert E Blackmon

Half-Life 3
Dino Crisis remake
Bloodborne 2
40K Total War
Monolith Soft new IP

That's what I'm betting on.

Command & Conquer: Tiberian Twilight (continues from Tiberian Sun)
Ultima X
Freelancer 2
Total War: WW1
Half-Life 3
Blizzard apologizing and re-remaking WarCraft 3
Final Fantasy XVII directed by Matsuno and set in Ivalice
Gameplay footage of Dragon Quest XII
Dark Messiah of Might & Magic 2
A new King's Field
Trailer for the new 3D Mario game
