Crimson Desert Combat Overview

I do like the look of this but it seems like a jack of all trades type game. Hopefully its a case of better than the sum of it's parts.

Definitely a looker, hopefully it doesn't run like shit.

Here is a video, discuss
That's the idea.

Yeah, this could either be fucking awesome or complete shite. Seems like a game that should have had extensive public testing before release but you never know.

Cautiously optimistic. Will wait for impressions.

Yep, you can tell the game was made by mmo designers. Obviously I want this to be great, but we'll see. Would love a demo.

Some factions are more technologically advanced, that's why they have mechs.

I mean it make sense that in a land divided by war some factions keep their tech for their own without sharing.

Doesn't the warhammer universe include literally fucking everything from mechs to gods to demons to hivemind insects to every piece of scifi/fantasy you can think of?!

If they give enough lore reasons it is the only way to have medieval and tech in the same game and it's cool as fuck if you ask me.

Do you want us to verbally describe the combat moves used in the video?

"I couldn't get enough of him. I was tired and sore but I didn't care. I didn't want to sleep. I wanted the ache. I wanted him in me, all the time. His weight on top of me. I wanted to squeeze him in further and further. I wanted to watch his face. I wanted his sweat to drop onto me"

Edit: Wait, wrong video.

Those are a lot of big ifs. Warhammer isnt consistent either nor am I a fan of it, but it's chaotic nature works in its benefit. That isnt a general rule and it does not universally apply to everything else. Aesthetically Warhammer looks far cooler than Crimson.

Technomagic is a common trope in fantasy. There's a city of inventors in this world so it makes sense, pretty much like in Dune they don't use computers to navigate their space folding ships. The mechanic golden dragon is very cool.

Watched alit of these videos and the only thing holding me back is the movement it looks Jankie like it's missing frames or something I dunno what it is but doesn't seem fluid. Hope that's beta code and the final will be smoother

Starting to look like the best action game showcase i remember so far, and we should get a last video about the "Life in Pywel", showing maybe NPC behaviours, more about cities, etc..

You can tell Pearl Abyss is bigger than any developer except CDProjekt, Rockstar and not much more, and having Black Desert to recycle a lot of stuff from also helped

Controversial opinion I guess but I wish the art direction was a bit less '' pseudo-realistic '' ( in terms of armor and world design etc ).
It just looks kinda bland and generic none of the character designs really look interesting or fun to me.
Looks very '' safe and inoffensive '' like very downplayed fantasy which is a bit dull.

This looks too good to be true tbh. I wonder how the story and pacing will be.

I wonder if this will be a generational title that raises the bar for other games, similar to Witcher 3, Elden Ring and Baldur's Gate 3 - or if I am simply being tricked by good marketing video's.

I see what you mean. Also it looks too clean. The part with the blacksmith and they show a bit of the town, it's extremely ultra clean, no medieval town/city looks that clean. It's look off. But I've noticed that a long time ago.

Combat does look like a lot of fun though.

I think there's worse out there than what we're seeing here honestly.

Everyone is saying this. It's just gonna come down to watching some gameplay walkthrough videos and see if it's worth your time and money to dive in.

If Pearl Abyss ends up misleading people it will be a tough hill to climb to restore their reputation.

but ppl are fighting with wooden shields and swords.

How about here?

Have you ever been to a medieval town?

Yeah this game is not just for me. I personally find entire aesthetics very dull and when this game comes out I'm mostly busy playing MHStories 3.

Something foesnt feel right about this game. Yeah, coMbat looks alright but its a big world and i suspect the other aspects will lack.

Also, thats a prety game - performance is gonna be interesting.

Ok, I didn't want to hype myself too much but this one makes it tough. Looks great. Still, it's a dev with their roots in MMO design so I think it will have a lot of repetitive missions. At least the combat looks fun.

The story will be shit. Don't go in expecting anything more than surface level good vs evil or something. There won't be branching story paths either. It's not Witcher 3.

This will be a game that is carried by how good the combat and/or exploration will be.

Ay, teacher.

Not much that we haven't seen in previous showcases, but if I have to make a comment on something of note, it is that some moves can only be learnt by watching them being executed by other characters just like some activities (finishing is one of the examples shown in the previous videos). It reminds me of the "steal" skill in games like Final Fantasy but implemented in a more seamless way.
