Looking forward to the PS handheld. I hope it's a hybrid and that Sony doesn't abandon it in a week like they did with Vita. And that it doesn't look like that monstrosity Portal.

For the home console, team PS6 Pro. PS5 Pro and PC before the new Pro.

Wondering how the new PlayStation 6 SDK handle ports From the PS6 console to the handheld. The PS5 games via lower power profile, PS4 games via backwards compatibility. Will Sony introduce backwards compatibility layer for PS3 games?

I dont know about this, but for me 2027 is the worse year to launch a new console especially with ps5 and ps5 having a very good momentum and great games coming up like GTA 6 and Wolverine. And Ps5 pro update help allot to make it more future proof for 2 or 3 more years. It pretty much kills the momentum of ps5 and ps5 pro if its 2027. It is very bad for business to kill the one that lays the golden egg right now. Late 2028 or early 2029 is still the best time for Sony to launch a new console.

What momentum? The console already peaked a while back, this is 2027 not 2024.

I'm talking about sales of the console. The interest on ps5 and ps5 pro is sky high right now, especially ps5 pro, with re9, Crimson, Saros, and anticipation of wolverine and GTA 6. Even Ps5 pro demands had increase. Base ps5 is still selling very well and 100 million still achievable this year. 2027 is to early for ps5 even on survey of gamers. Why will Sony want gamers to lose interest on ps5? Why will Sony kill the one that lays the golden egg?

Gaming also lost 3 years from pandemic. Its almost like Ps5 is just in its 3rd or 4th year. Ps5 and especially ps5 pro still has allot of capabilities and not yet fully squeeze out.
Graphics had plateaud and stagnant. PT and RTGI are great, but not a necessity and negligible. Majority of gamers, especially in Japan does not care about RT or PT. And most gamers prefer good IQ and frame rate than RT or PT.
Handheld is okay to launch early, especially in Japan since that market prefer handheld, and Sony is getting killed there. But console, just give 2 or 3 more years of breathing space for ps5 and ps5 pro.

Perfect time is Christmas 2028 or summer 2029.

Gamestop going to be busy this year. Trade in all those old worthless boxes and controllers. Don't forget the HDMI and power cable.
 
So what clown fabricated the whole story that Sony was going to release PS6 way later than expected? Several sources picked it up, now it seems it's utter bullshit.
 
I am glad. 1 more year and half of suffering before we get something better.

if the PS6 was gonna be a 2028 system, i would have kinda had to go and buy a PS5 pro to play the exclusives. But I can wait till 2027.

The wallet though.. its not gonna be happy. between the PS6, maybe handheld, 6090 maybe ? ... yeah i am going to get divorced...

Time to start saving money on the side from now lol.

Well. 2027 if it happens, then it happens, but for me that will be a bad decsion. But I have a feeling it will be delayed to late 2028 or early 2029. Sony knows its business and they will not be stupid to kill the one that lays the golden egg and sell a new console that is so expensive, given that ram and other parts will be more expensive next year due to continues AI boom.

And about MS Helix project threat? It will not be a threat since its already a hybrid pc and surely will be expensive. It will be very much in the high end pc category, not console, whether they deny it or not.

Let the fans enjoy PS5 and PS5 pro era more.

This is not an official news either....

Nothing against Kepler but "still on track" means very little at this point

Sony was on track to keep releasing PC games, until it wasn't....

I mean there wont be any ps6 exclusives for 3 years or so so it kinda doesnt matter anyway.

PS4 Pro was the same price as launch PS4. PS4 Pro was also cheaper than the PS3...

What's the target base and sales for PS6? Is it the same as PS5 Pro and meant to attract 10-20% of the install base of base PS5? Sure, it will be more expensive.

If PS6 is meant to have 100M lifetime sales, it will be priced accordingly to achieve that which means the current price of PS5 pro is irrelevant.
