I'm sorry but anyone hating on this is just dumb lol.

Fucking photorealistic graphics and we have people complaining because it's made possible by AI

Ok, stay on your 4000 series card until 2040 then.

Ai is the future. Embrace it or get left behind. End of goddamn story

Let's be sincere here.
This is exactly the kind of AI tech I would expect for the developers to use when prototyping new characters, art etc. until the refinement of their concepts.
Not something to be calculated on fly on the users end after the development.

Those RE9 faces lol. The Starfield ones doesn't look too bad though. Just needs to be dialed in a bit and this is going to be transformative for lighting in games.

How will you cope when this comes out?

Technology started evolving way faster than most ape-brained hominids are able to adapt, their neurons are apt to react in a conservative fashion (at least at first).
sure seems to have broken your ape-brain already. get help from your favorite bot to save that sentence.

PC gamers, I know some of you guys like brightened and contrasted ENB mods in games, but you must draw the line somewhere.

This footage looks like a legitimate art-killer.

SlimySnake SlimySnake @GymWolf @Msamy and the other graphical fidelity thread bros…please…talk sense into them.

Edit: Nevermind, I tagged the wrong ones. They have already started liking this.
lol hahaha. yes. i think the tech is great. but i definitely see the concerns and potential issues. like you said, its an art-killer. and thats just the tip of the iceberg.

But the potential is there and its a revolutionary new tech that will change the modding scene forever.

My opinion about this: This could be really helpful for games integrating it in dev pipelines from the beginning as it would allow them to make simple 3D models, as long as they make sure it looks 100% consistent, but for games already out, I wouldn't count on it... I feel like they're disrespecting OG artists

The gooning community loved this.

RE9 example is specifically awful because RE characters have distinct Capcom touch. They are highly detailed and stylized at the same time, they are 'anime' just enough to be believable but still distinctly Resident Evil. Especially female characters like Ada, Grace or children.

Nvidia slop demo just erased decades of artistic and stylistic legacy in one beautiful AI touch.

Hey don't be mad at me because I like this. Facts are simply such, you react negatively to stuff like this all the time, and oftentimes after a while you accept it as normal.

This look so bad to me, "DLSS on" picture looks like someone put fake face on top of the screenshot in photoshop.
its an art-killer. and thats just the tip of the iceberg.

This is how I envision the future of art/graphics development:

Devs would essentially have their art departments make an extensive "idealized" version of a vertical slice of each level using offline rendering techniques within their game engine or through CGI, whichever they are comfortable with. This would capture the artistic look and intent for every model and area.

Then they train the heck out of their AI model until you throw any combination of geometry and basic lighting into the level and the AI "filter" can create the ideal artistic version of it that matches their original intent.

Then they build the actual game at whatever minimum input data is needed for the AI model that maximizes runtime performance.

Then the game ships with the final AI model and game code.

You want an anime-looking game, train the AI model accordingly. You want photorealism, you got that too. Devs would not be relying on Nvidia's model. At some point, devs would get control of that. For a demo cobbled together by Nvidia without any artistic intent behind it, the tech itself is pretty damn revolutionary. I think they have gone overboard with training everything on photorealistic content. It's only a matter of time before that changes.

Why are all you AI techbro's the same kind of special retards?

Are you the same folks who were hyping up NFT's to be THE NEXT BIG THING IN GAMING

And web 3.0 ???

slop deep

The problem is that it looks like A.I. slop, deep fake trash. it destroys all artistic intent.

If you can't spot the difference between fucking AI … and … NFTs then I won't even bother giving you a serious reply

This will be a streaming feature, mostly. Who the fuck can afford double 5090's and the energy they consume?

It's almost like you failed to read anything past that. This is alpha/beta shit. Nvidia has said this is intended to be used via a single GPU when it's fully released.

:messenger_tears_of_joy:

You act like it's the fucking savior of mankind or something, when it has produced literally nothing of value

You clowns are funny
There are so many reason just within the silicon industry why this is a better path to advance 3d rendering than trying to make bigger chips at higher and higher cost. I don't have the impression you are interested in any of that though. Guess you gleamed all my thoughts on the subject from my sentence teasing your faulty deduction though!

Just shows how AI kills uniqueness and creativity. By definition it can only be trained on what has been done before and the unique examples of art are very few by definition.

So yea this is great if you're making slop but if you want to do something different and interesting with your art this is gonna destroy it.

Would have preferred to see it being demoed with something like Forza. No matter how good they look, games like RE are always going to look like CGI movies no matter what you do to them.

Like ray tracing, this will be amazing for certain games, on others it'll simply look like something tacked on that serves no purpose.

Whatever the case though, its great to see PC's pissing on consoles again.
