how much tequila have I had in this scenario?

In general I do not like much, if any, crunch in my tacos, maybe a bit of fresh onion, so unlikely that I would go for this even if I were down for eating crickets.

Taco Bell menu item 1.
Get 2 chicken Chalupas and one regular taco.

I think I'm more into the Chalupa. I like that oily shell better than the taco.

For my ideal taco I keep it simple.

Soft shell.

Some well seasoned meat (usually chicken thigh and chorizo).

With spicy and zesty pico de gallo with lots of cilantro.

Habanero salsa.

Sometimes some avacado.

No cheese or beans.

Just like it simple, fresh and sharp.

Those are my actual pics. I just bought them out of curiosity from Oaxacan taco truck in my city. 3 for $12.50 and they wouldn't mix and match so I had to commit. I was really disappointed. They tasted like nothing grab a bunch of dried leaves and pop them in your mouth and that's what they taste like.

Street tacos around Mexico are amazing around the northern border areas in Arizona and Cali.

Chow everyday in Thailand had crickets usually crispier on top. The green beans and crickets casserole type thing they always was pretty good.

I eat tacos basically every week.
They are fast and cheap to make and they taste great.

What do they taste like? What would be the most comparable "regular" food?
Nothing. I honestly couldn't figure out the taste. I was eating them individually without the salsa and cheese. They're just crunchy and earthy like dry leaves.

I love taco and all different types - Authentic and TexMex too. I can probably eat a dozen, no problem.
To buy in NYC, too expensive - so it's one of those dishes that I make once in a great while, as it's pretty cumbersome and also need a lot of fresh ingridients.

On top of that, my GF can't eat Mexican - she only eats local chinese food she grew up with (and honestly they are pretty bland - no spice)... :(

She's going away for 3 weeks, so I'm planning to gorge what I haven't been able to eat and make. Taco being one of them! ;)

Mexican food is expansive and varied not buying it that she can't find something to eat
