Herman Hulst confirms end of Single Player PS games porting to PC.

Shame, but I understand the logic. Thing is, there are not enough PS5 exclusive titles to entice me to make a full switch to console. So Sony won't be getting much third party cut from me.

Never got the uncharted trilogy ported over.

Well, PS3 emulation is pretty good now and PS4 emulation is picking up. So there are ways to play the trilogy on PC.

And nothing of value was lost. Also, you can keep your multiplayer shit as well, Herman.

It's not about converting you, it's about the fact they are going to drop a $1k PS6 and they don't their existing customers to jump ship. If you can buy the 2 or 3 PS6 games worth playing on a PC people will be a lot less likely to pay that price for a console.

And there it is. Sony will no longer publish their signature titles on Steam.

XBOX, Ubisoft and EA should take notice, especially with the improvements to XBOX mode on Windows.
Ubisoft and EA only put their pc games on their own platforms for years. So did MS. They came crawling back to steam. That's three companies that tried and failed, should tell you all you need to know.

Ditching steam for PC games does not work.

First smart decision they've made all gen. Absolutely stupid decision to put these games on PC.
Now I have a reason to buy a PS6 on Day 1. Simple as that.

PC fans will still support Sony via Marathon, Helldivers 2, Horizon: Fattlefields, and Fairgame$

This way Sony keeps the gaas PC money and community and use it to create first party SP exclusives for Playstation.

It's good traditional management.

I can't say Sony SP games are must play.
The best that was published on PC, was probably, Days Gone. The rest vary from mediocre to just ok.
I got done with their games during last gen (owned a PS4) and don't really care about their current output which seems to be just more of the same, but with more modern political stuff injected into them which isn't my cup of tea.

Helldivers 2 seemed cool tho. Didn't try it because I prefer EDF but that one had success at least. But we might still get those, since this annoucenemt is just for "narrative SP games".

Is there a list of upcoming PS first party single player games slated for 2026? Saros was just released and I know Wolverine is sometime in the second half of the year. What else is in the pipeline?

Wolverine is all they need for this to hurt.

There really is no other relevant game to the zeitgeist that they could conceivably hold out that has been announced unless they moneyhat the Dark Souls or Max Payne remakes.

i never owned a PS4 but I did play Bloodborne this year.

This is the rough equivalent of whatever the fuck Blockbuster was doing to compete with Netflix.

If Herman thinks I'll buy his console (again) for like one game (Intergalactic) over insanely good customer service, sales, mods, scalability, visuals and more, he is delusional.

All glory to the PCMasterRace!

Anyone else think Wolverine will win GotY at TGA now if it releases in time?

The exclusivity discussion will bolster its position in the zeitgeist and you only vote for what you played and everyone of the journalists that vote on TGA will have played Wolverine. I think GTA could give it a run for its money but there is enough controversy there that Wolverine could come in and steal it. Console exclusives always get a hard look for goty and this is the first insomniac game I can remember rated m for mature.

So we can go back to pretending they are the greatest thing ever and everyone else is so envious and dying to play them, even though we now have data that shows most people outside of PlayStation don't really give a shit about them.

And I'm saying it as someone who plays almost exclusively on Ps5. But the last exclusive I bought was Astro Bot and they haven't announced anything new I'm actually looking forward to.

He thinks PC gamers will.

Give PC gamers a wave of games like Concord, Marathon, Horizon Hunters and Fairgames as the recent face of PS games on Steam, and it'll surely make every PC gamer itch to buy a PS5 for Intergalactic or Wolverine.

And dont forget the recent PS+ sub plan price hike. Hulst thinks PC gamers treat MP fees as great ways to spend money. So when youre done playing Intergalactic or Wolverine you can stay in the PS ecosystem and buy PS+ to play Marathon season 5 on PS5. And bingo! Youre now a new convert hooked into PS5's ecosystem purchase cycle.

That's exactly what we're doing.

We don't get a say in it, but that's where this is headed.

Just wait for the TGA glaze.

Considering their output this gen they probably just wanted to avoid more gloating CCU threads.
The next few pr disasters are still on the menu though with the horizon GAAS and Fairgames... If they actually still dare to release that.

Spider-Man 2 on PC flopped and he's a bigger draw than Wolverine.
