What's the chance of Dead or Alive 4 appearing on the PS3?

Well, I returned my 360 since I don't have much time to game as I used to. I can't do multiplatform gaming anymore. I was wondering if there is a chance of Tecmo porting this game to the PS3, since it's probably the only next gen console I am going to own. =p

Tecmo always supported the most powerful console (eg. DOA2 on DC, then DOA2:H on PS2). I had a blast with this game, and I really hope it gets ported.

It is important to separate Tecmo and Team Ninja.
Tecmo have PS3 games in development.
Team Ninja don´t

So while Tecmo could make a port or something of DoA4 to PS3, Itagaki would´t be involved.

AFAIK, all projects that Team Ninja has (Itagakis team) are all Xbox360-related.
(Team Ninja has several teams within team ninja, like team progressive for example)

SO no itagaki games on PS3..

Ah. That sucks. :( I love Team Ninja's games.

It doesn't have an "Only on Xbox 360" label at the top of the box... then again, I don't think any third party games do, even the ones that are exclusive (Oblivion).

Oblivion is on PC.

DOA4 is suppose to release in tandem with Super Extreme Leather Bondage Golf, right?

i hope DOA4 stays on the 360 to keep things interesting.

I bet Oblivion will be announced for PS3 at this E3.

I bet I won't if Oblivion cracks a million before E3 like it's set to do. Smartest thing M$ could do is to lock this puppy up! Sony will try and do that to other games as well. If M$ is smart this pup is locked already! DOA 4 is probably locked up as well.

Why do they need to lock it? All 360 games out are time exclusive by default until November, money hats not required. Besides the Oblivion team said they wanted the game to hit all platforms that could handle it.

I remember the GI cover and article that siad it was coming to PS3. Most sites also had it listed for PS3 and some people at E3 swore Bethesda representatives said it was also coming to PS3.

I hope it is.

It creates a reason for owning the system AKA sytem sellers like HALO! That's why, yea it would be great if it came out on all platforms but, is that good for Microsoft and Xbox 360? Does that make people want a 360 more or less? You obviously are going to get a PS3 why is that? It's because you feel like it will have all the games. System exclusives upset that balance and can even change a customers stance on a system that's why M$ will and has put a lock some or all of these titles like DOA 4 and Oblivion! Also, this time exclusive thing you view automaticlly about the Xbox brand has to go if Microsoft wants Xbox 360 to be a leader AKA you buy their system also or you buy the 360 only you have the choice. Microsoft has the money to change what games come and are exclusives to their system AKA effecting your reasoning for owning one or not!

What if someone who has a PS3 would like DOA4 and can't afford a 360?

What you actually mean is: I don't need DOA.

I don't think its out of the question, unlinke current gen, there's no technical reason why DOA4 couldn't run on Sony's platform. Its all up to Itagaki's/Tecmo's willingness to want to make quick cash from a PS3 rev.

Do you honestly believe that PC game sales take significant sales from consoles? I remeber when Max Payne came out for the XBOX after being on the PC for months. The XBOX version still outsold the PC version. Morrowind was on the PC but once again the XBOX version greatly overshadowed it.

My point is that a game being on the PC at the same time as a console is NOTHING like a game being on multiple consoles. PC and console gaming markets are totally different. It's like comparing portable and home consoles. I think not labling Oblivion as an exclusive requires at least some sort of qualifer. When a PS3 or Revolution version of Oblivion is announced THEN you can say it is not exclusive.

I hope it's not. I like the idea of each console having unique content. Also, unlike the PC version, a PS3 version of Oblivion would be greatly impacted by sales of the previously released XBOX 360 game. Think GTA re-release on the XBOX without XBOX's installed base. So I don't think that Bethesda would get much return on their investment for making a PS3 version.

for ppl who doesn't know"The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" (Bethesda Softworks/2K Games), is a Xbox 360 "console exclusive" title.

Yeah, people don't read I guess.

I LOVE Virtua Fighter, and I absolutely hate Tekken. What I enjoy about DoA is its fast paced gameplay and the online mode. Sadly, VF5 doesn't look like it's going to be online. =[

I really hope Team Ninja considers a port. It would be a great way to make some quick cash, as I understand DoA is fairly popular in Japan.

I don't want a 360 because there aren't many games I am interested in (I am primarily interested in Japanese-developed games, JRPG's, and the like), and I don't game nearly as much as I did before. FFS, I enjoy talking about games more than playing them. :lol

As I understand it, Team Ninja isn´t in need of money, their projects seems to be funded by MS. So while it is nice to make a quick buck and earn "more" money, Team Ninja dosen´t have to.. they can focus on making the most out of their new content on one machine, instead of wasting man-hours on porting a game to another plattform.

Money is NOT a problem for Team Ninja. (They could establish a whole new team, Team Progressive with 100+ people thanks to MS-funds)

Anyway, the Team Ninja "only supports the best hardware" line is bs. That was just Itagaki's PR excuse for his Xbox move, DOA1 and DOA2 being multiplatform (and Team Ninja supporting Ds over PSP) paint a different picture. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if DOA4 ended up on PS3 in some form... but then I think it's pretty likely we'll see VF5 and maybe even Tekken 6 on 360 too.

Isn't it interesting how people always want the popular Xbox games on Sony's side, while it's not usually the other way around? I know everyone loves Sony and all, but is MS supposed to be 3rd rate just because you want it to be? Without balanced exclusives, what's the point of getting anything besides one console?
