The PlayStation Vita In 2011-2012

It would have been amazing if they had included the multiplayer from Uncharted 3 in Golden Abyss and allowed for cross platform play. Just a quick and direty reduction of assets/what ever needed to happen with a port of the Uncharted 3 engine running on Vita.

Lord of PSPortdom isn't an internal SE game, so I didn't count that.

Hopefully it's not from SE. Sony needs something 1st party that actually sells handhelds. I propose a SCEJ game that kills both Pokemon and MoHun, and sells 18 million copies at launch - kill two birds with one stone.

SCE couldn't make a system seller when they needed it most (in 2007-2008), and haven't made one in 15 years. It's more realistic to assume they'll buy a successful IP.

I'm getting antsy, we need to get a new Vita game announcement to quench this anxiousness.

JUMP FESTA #BELIEVE

Is there any word on when we can expect MGS2 & MGS3 HD for the Vita? I presume that Peace Walker will just be the PSP version, perhaps with a dual-analog patch....

SCEJ hates investing money into talent and studios other than PD and Team ICO. They need to get some fresh blood, fresh perspective, and nail the casual market of Monster Hunter and Pokemon.

Weren't those announced along with the ZOE Collection? But i'm pretty sure it was due in early 2012.

Yes, I've mentioned how I've felt SCEJ should've expanded this generation. Acquire, ClapHanz, and even Falcom are all great picks who've shown pretty good loyalty in the past. Unfortunately, Acquire was released acquired (heh) by another company.

I think invizmals could blow upon the vita, at least in Europe I'm sure that's going to be the system seller. it did pretty good numbers on a dying system and required a hardware addon all of thse problems will be mitigated with the release of vita. I'm expectig an explosion if thy get the word out correctly.

I feel Invizimals needs to expand beyond just the AR to actually become a huge success. You shouldn't need the camera to be on to always play the game.

It's ok, I have an idea, invest more into PD and Team Ico, have them combine, and have them immediately halt work on GT6 and Last Guardian. After 10 years or so of development we will get the Pokemon and MH killer:

A game where you collect and trade licensed cars with your friends, drive in those cars and kill colossi for their drops which can then be used to craft parts for your cars.

I'm offering that awesome idea to SCEJ completely gratis.

I think that‘s the appal though. going for a “real life“ pokemon instead of just a copy. maybe have a capture mode you need to hae the camera on for and an adventure mode with ingame graphics to battle with them would be best of both worlds. Say you encounter a monster and want to capture him, then you get booted to the ar capture mode. it has follow the leader type arrow markers you need to rub toward some checkpoints in a given amount of time to capture ur guy. that's just an example of how it might work.

Well, a full blown adventure mode certainly would be better than what we currently have now, which is basically just a game of colour matching before capturing.

Extreme Escape Adventure: Good People Die: GAF washed my brain with 999 so i guess this game will be good. DD and a good price would work for me.
Hype: 6

You never played 999? I loved it, but you should know these games are basically Visual Novels, not everyone's cup of tea.

Bah, wanted to preorder Vita on Amazon.jp, so it would come with the memory card and a case, but it seems the preorders that were open once again yesterday are over already. I wonder how hard will it be to buy a 16GB memory card and a case on the release day.

Probably not too bad. Amazon.jp still taking pre-orders for 16gb cards as well as various stores around me in the Osaka area. Joshin down the street still taking preorders for all accessories except for the 32gb mem card (all cases, etc).

I haven't played invizmal, what's the game like? I think I'll be more interested if they just create a story mode set in contemporary world with the premise that there's invisible monster around us. it's the kind of premise Level 5 would use for their own franchise. :P

Actually, that's the story. Scientists make a discovery that invisible monsters are all around us, and can only be seen via our PSPs, and of course an evil organization is hell bend on abusing these magical beasts. As a new member of the Sony R&D team in Tokyo, it's up to you to stop this evil force, and learn more about these animals. The weird thing is, rather than tell a story normally, Invizimals is entirely told through live action FMVs, with amazingly over the top acting, and the best green screen this side of The Room. It also features Brian Blessed, so the cutscenes are very much an appreciated thing on my part, but I just wish there was more.

Could you believe a PSP game released in 2009 only in the west could break a million units? Well, apparently Invizimals did.

I call BS on that. Don't think I ever saw it chart in PAL land. Ever.

Besides, if it was so hot to sell that many on a dead system, they would have announced a sequel the next day.

They did. And there's a third that just came out. It's a yearly franchise and has sold over one million between the first two, if Novarama is to be believed.

And it's so popular that Sony outright bought the studio earlier this year.

I thought they're making one for Vita?

Gamestop is still taking preorders for these right? How much of a deposit? I usually don't preorder through Gamestop (Thanks Amazon!) but I do not chance missing out on hardware.

It doesn't chart in the UK, but it apparently has done really well in the none-UK markets, and has shown some super legs. For example, the first game outsold Pokemon Black & White last year in Spain, despite last year not being the first game's release year.

As mentioned, the second game was released last month in North America, and the third last week in Europe.

A producer from Novarama confirmed the franchise will be on Vita, and in fact, during the WIDEAR demo from TGS, Tigershark, from the first game is visible.

EU gets some damn nice preorders for the Vita. I would love that Vita wallet.

Video about the official case and headphones.

http://andriasang.com/comyyx/

Case seems to actually attach to the bottom back of the system itself and can be used as a stand to prop it up.
I'll pass, but it's neat that it attaches like that.

that thing puts a frown on my face.

It would be better if Sony made it more like that pspGo case that zips up completely and has the same snap on function ( actually works very well) plus the stand/movie viewing mode that this atrocity has. That case is very nice/ comfortable and it actually works. I never take it off my Go. But this thing in the video is ridiculous.
I also haven't a clue on how the sticks are being properly protected. You still can bend them or press hard against them through that case from the looks of it. Theres absolutely nothing holding them in place. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It doesn't cover the sides, which I believe all cases should.
velcro *shivers*
and it doesn't have any slots to hold things, like my mandatory memory cards.

and of course ear-buds instead of headphones. Called it.
I know I sound kind negative but that thing sucks. imo.

So my brother and I agreed to buy the Vita for each others birthdays. I just got my order confirmation from amazon that he's purchased it. Such as nice guy! Convenient that our birthdays are February and April.

Uncharted sales + 2

Man, I hope it's higher than that. It's got to be the most impressive new IPs we've seen on a handheld in a while.

SCEJ has an incredibly difficult time launching gamer oriented IPs (okay, they have a difficult time doing anything), and something about the game reminds me of Folklore for some reason. You don't want to know how Folklore sold.

Playing Skyrim just makes me imagine how great Elder Scrolls could be on Vita. Even if it was like "Oblivion Stories" or something. Bethesda could take the Morrowind map and make a game in the same era as Skyrim.

Yeah, I believe that's the third new character revealed for ToIR.

I remember Bethesda's PSP lies.

RIP The Elder Scrolls Travels.
The open-world promise unkept.
