Before, NoA didn't want to bring this over; so...
1) Is NoA presumably changing its mind and bringing it over?
2) Gamestop is paying NoA to bring it over, or something?
3) How exactly is Gamestop involved in it coming over?
4) NoA is then only changing the regional coding?

I'm just confused about the relationships between the game, NoA, and why/how Gamestop is involved, as well as if the game is just the EU version, or what.
NoA was waiting to see on the European sales, though whether or not they were going to do that all along is another story. And I imagine either GameStop helped get it out by working out a deal or by being the only major retailer worth going to for it, Walmart and Target probably wouldn't care, Best Buy isn't as game focused as GameStop, and Amazon's online only. We can only wait to see if they do any script polishing or if it pretty much is just switching the regional coding and crap related to that (rating coding, video modes).
Nintendo........ localize Nazo no Murasame Jo!!!!

Time to Occupy Nintendo World Store and make it happen!! >:)
Ah haha... Actually, I'd really like to see Marvelous: Another Treasure Island get a shot at coming out here. It was Eiji Aonuma's game that got him on Zelda, so I'd like to see how he got his start. Maybe it'd be worth while for a 3D Classics release?

I dont give a fuck about RPgs really but Im going to buy this for the music and to support them. I might even attempt to play the game.

Well you have to play it to hear the music, anyway. It's definitely worth playing to the end too. A treat for the ears the whole way through.

I'm gonna be really confused whether or not to import Last Story and Pandora's Tower now.... :/ I imagine NoA will wait to see if this limited Xenoblade release is successful before announcing the other two titles.... but maybe they just aren't coming? It's a tricky situation because I don't like having the PAL copy when a domestic one is coming... But also, I want to encourage Nintendo to release them by having the PAL versions do well..... argh. confusing. ><

Gotta say that going by the used prices here in Japan, Xenoblade did quite well, but Last Story seems to have bombed. Have barely see Pandora's tower in stores at all. The Euro localization must not have been as concerned with Japanese sales if they are doing all three.

Cool. Now, how about The Last Story? I hear that one is pretty good.

I would hold off on importing, there's a much better chance of it coming over here now.

I would take NPC Pikmin 2 over TLS and Pandora's Tower

That one almost certainly isn't coming over, sadly. But if you have an HDTV and component cables, you should be able to play an import!

See I almost feel like importing is pretty much justified. I think I paid 57 bucks for Xenoblade because of the exchange rate. I mean if they announce it before it comes out in Europe I don't see why you would, but if we have to wait another 8 months in between I want to play it earlier.

I guess I just still expect to be kept in the dark for longer than usual even if they always had intended to bring Last Story over. For whatever reason if they wait to see Xenoblades sales etc. Maybe they will surprise me and announce it early enough this time around.

Well if you want to play it earlier, then yeah, it's totally justified. I'm going to import it regardless, just because the process with Xenoblade went very well.

I also hope Nintendo of America doesn't play around with PR speak regarding The Last Story. That statement they put out on their Facebook page (of all places) was just so, so dumb. I would hope it's more along the lines of "we're looking into it, don't get your hopes up, buy Xenoblade and other great Nintendo games".

With all this talk about importing, is Xenoblade in Europe still considered rare? I thought there were only 10k copies made.

It's really great that Americans get to play Xenoblade, though.

Now, I can finally read the opinions of people who actually matter.

I have a friend who keeps telling me to play the Xenosaga games. I just can't get past the purple-haired animu robot girl who is trying to learn what it means to be human.
Despite what I said beforehand, I really do like the Xenosaga games. KOS-MOS is not learning anything. It's more complicated/ridiculous than what you suggested. Cause it's Takahashi. And it's just that.
If he doesn't like KOS-MOS, he'll probably hate MOMO, since she actually does go through some of the "why can't I be a real little girl?" stuff.

In addition to, you know:

I still love the XS trilogy (particularly III), but it's definitely not for everyone.

More on topic, I'm very pleased with the news of Xenoblade's release here. I just posted a few days ago about how I was unsure about whether to keep waiting or to just go ahead and import. I have enough games to keep my occupied until April, so the wait isn't a big deal for me.

I notice that the release (April 3rd) seems to be the first game for Nintendo's next fiscal year. Is is possible that NoA couldn't release it earlier because it wasn't included in their current fiscal year budget?

Its help > Does GameStop ship internationally? > learn more about international shipping then scroll down the page.

Awesome, thanks!

Although, I tried adding some more stuff to my order to make it worth it, and it wants to ship Xenoblade separately to the stuff that's already in stock (making it $60 shipping instead). Is there a way I can set it to send all together?

What immaculate (annoying?) timing this was. Seeing as I held off opening my European copy until I finished Zelda, let's just say that I'd probably be in the process of modding my system tonight had it not been for this news.

I'm buying this straight from Nintendo so that they get the idea that I want to give them my full attention for localization attempts.

Well let's put it this way; If you hack your Wii now, you'll still get to play the game 5 months before it hits the shelves locally so it's hardly a losing situation.

Well, that's no fun.

I'd rather support the US release (after all, it'd be hypocritical not to after doing the letter writing campaign).

Fuck. So you guys get Xenosaga complete AND Xenoblade now. Lucky.

tbh, i'd give up Xenoblade if it meant we could get Xenosaga episode 1 and 3.

If it had taken just two more weeks, I was going to ask my friends who are going back to Scotland for Christmas break to get me a copy.Suppose I'll go with a US version in case something happens to my modded Wii or I want to play it on a Wii U when I move back to the States.

I need to play Xenoblade, but I think you're probably better off with Xenoblade over those two. HOWEVER it would've definitely been better to swap out XS2 for XS3, at least then you'd have the finale and when they made the gameplay good.

+ I hear there's a Shion nude shower scene.

Wow, good catch. I guess if they expect a loss from XB, it'll get washed away by all the cash that'll be coming in for the Wii U launch?

NoA was waiting to see on the European sales, though whether or not they were going to do that all along is another story.

I was one of the guys in the "NOA has already made up their minds and your campaign won't have any effect" camp, but the circumstances of this release really do seem to suggest that the decision to release in NOA came rather recently. Maybe it was due to fan demand, maybe the spectacularly positive critical reception caught them off guard, maybe someone lower down the ranks at NOA convinced the higher-ups to give the whole limited-run thing a shot, who knows; whatever the reason, I'm really glad it's happening and I hope it's successful enough to convince them to do it more regularly going forward.

I'm actually not even interested in the game but I'm going to buy a copy just in hopes that they do more shit like this in the future.

I'm dead serious. I might even give it away to GAF when the time comes.

Why not play it first and if you don't like it then, give it away.

Noticed that too and figured the same thing. Hopefully NOA's a bit more forward thinking with The Last Story and Pandora's Tower so we aren't kept waiting until April 2013 to play them.

Wouldn't giving away a copy to someone who most likely would have bought the game anyway kind of defeat the purpose of buying a game that you otherwise wouldn't have bought just to support Nintendo's localization efforts?

I put my $5 down this weekend but not before the young clerk saw that I was preordering an RPG and said "SKYRIM SKYRIM SKYRIM SKYRIM SKYRIM SKYRIM SKYRIM" to me.

Never change, GameStop.
