You just crushed my soul. Now I go to teach innocent Japanese kids while I die a little bit on the inside. Thanks. =(

Hope you're ready to talk about the "my first virgin girlfriend is afraid portable" for Vita when it's announced. It'll make use of all the features sony built into the system even Near where you can actually find virgins on the streets IF only IF you have the 3G model. You can even send each other "keys" and play touch based mini games with each other.

i'm kidding. but we all know a game like that will happen lol

DCCharlie predicted a Monster Hunter TriG total that would make BurntPork's Nintendoom outlooks blush.

that's still not untrue yet ! back in stock over the last few days, plenty of second hand copies, and already price slashed on Amazon!

Tri rerun total! ;)
only difference this time is Capcom will make sure they have a cut off point on pressings and will ship accordingly.

100k batches until the sales dry up....

500.... 600... 640... 680... 710... STOP. Look. Listen. WIN!

edit : sprks confirms fake - on a roll now! 1 for 1 ! ;)

So I'm no tech guru, but I've got an important question regarding the Vita.

I've got a PSP with a ton of Video content, like about 4-5 gigs worth. Its all been converted using PSP video 9 into PSP format. I think the res is 480x272 and its MP4?

My question is: will this content run on the Vita? Can I transfer it straight over without reconverting it? and lastly will it look any good; ie. run full screen without any bars etc. ?

I used my PSP a lot for video so this is all important to me. Oh and does anyone know if there are thumbnails or some sort of a decent browser for video files on the vita?

Out of the large launch line-up for the Vita, how many are bound to flop? Will people buy more than 2-3 games at launch, knowing that the Vita is at a premium price, plus the additional cost of a mandatory memory stick? I just don't see large software sales outside of maybe 2-4 Vita games: Hot Shots Golf, Uncharted, Disgaea 3 and Dynasty Warriors.

Ridge Racer could do better than uncharted and will assuredly sell better than Disgaea. Flops will be the shitty gameloft games, both the squeenix games and probably a few others...

It should work just fine, yes. The Vita uses the same aspect ratio as the PSP so no black bars, just expect some blurriness due to the upscaling.

The videos will look decent, but if you want the best results you should re-rip them to the Vita's native resolution.

F1 would never get such low scores anyway!

It's kind of surprising they're not using the 2012 season and launching it in March, unless they decide to not renew their license.

Edit: I wouldn't be surprised. The game looks like a port of the PSP/Wii version and the previews have been mostly negative.

Just skimmed through the new Famitsu and like it's been said before - there are no Vita reviews in this issue. There's a neat Vita Q&A/Game Preview 40 page long booklet attached though.

That's a bit weird, no?

Publishing launch game reviews an entire week after their release is weird.

Either Sony ran out of money or Vita is getting delayed.

Maybe Sony paid Famitsu NOT to review the games, so that gamers wouldn't be biased toward specific titles, so that all launch games do well.
Yeah, right.

Ok so they should all transfer over and run as is and without bars etc. That sounds sweet!
I wonder how much blurrier they'll look? hmm. I was thinking they should look a bit better colour wise and contrast wise becuase of the OLED screen.

I've since lost about half of my original videos that were on my PC, so re-ripping my entire video collection is not really a solution unfortunately.

so people can blind buy of course.

Or the majority of the scores were surprisingly bad (hardware performance issues were exposed by the games) so Sony had to break the piggy bank to afford holding them off for a week.

Do you have a PlayStation Vita yet? Of course not! Because PlayStation Vita doesn’t come out until the 17th, and breaking street dates is wrong.

Of course, if you’re just sitting at home and your Vita shipment arrives a couple of days early, there’s no harm in opening the package, right? That’s what happened to Twitter user dcengine, whose system arrived today, possibly from Yodobashi Camera (unless the bag is there just for decorative purposes).

According to Famitsu, the PC content management software will also be released on the 17th.

Congratulations, dcengine! You're the first person in the world to share pics of his Vita on Twitter. May the Vita be as memorable as the two systems that form your name.
Anoop has been bitten by the Vitadoomed bug as well.

So how does that work, PSP games automatically adopting to Vita's twin sticks?

It maps the face buttons (or d-pad, depending on the game) to the right stick. It's still not true analog control but it works much better.

A similar improvement happens on the 3DS with 3D games. Moving around with the slidpad is much better than the dpad, even though the slide pad is just emulating the 8 directions you can use in a dpad.

It should look much better than watching videos on a PSP. It just won't look as good as videos rippped to the Vita's native resolution, kind of like watching a DVD on an HDTV is harder after your eyes get used to HD content.

I know how I'm going to christen mine...and this is just the foreplay.

Is that you? you look less like Leona Lewis than I expected

I believe the rumor was 500k 3G models.

I believe the 500k rumor was only a reference to how many 3G models will be getting the free 100h ("first 500k sold will") but they never explicitly stated the 3G model's launch shipment number.
