What was up with that? Anyway decent episode. Really got me thinking about what "joy" is. Gilgamesh is definitely a fave though isIriesviel dying or something?!

A part of my mind can't forget how she'll grow up to (FSN spoiler)fingerbang Saber in the most tacked on sex scene of all time.
So AnimeGAF, what titles are still sitting on your backlog that you've been meaning to get around to, but haven't had the time? Watching Otaku no Video lets me cross off a title on my backlog that has been irking me for awhile.
For reference I still really want to get through:
Captain Harlock and the original Space Battleship Yamato.
Of course, those are just the major classics, I have far more titles to consider, but they're at the top of my list.
FSN must have been a really traumatic experience for me if I don't recollect this happening at all.

Slam Dunkuuuu and GTO. Since they're both super long, it means I'm never going to get to them in my life time.So AnimeGAF, what titles are still sitting on your backlog that you've been meaning to get around to, but haven't had the time? Did I make the right choice in yuri moeshit this year with A Channel, then?

Outside of here it seems to be required viewing for anime fans. You seem almost...embarrassed to admit that. Is there some reason why that would be so shameful?
A-Channel is the betterDid I make the right choice in yuri moeshit this year with A Channel, then?
At the least, watch the live-action GTO, firhawku!
No he should just stick to the anime.
I remember watching the first few Chinese-dubbed. It's funny because of both the anime and the live action show, the only thing I can remember is the opening scene where the guy is looking up the skirts of girls who are riding up an elevator. lolThe live-action's pretty good.

DOkuro is Yandere. Punie Chan is...umm....Hitler.
Huh, I wasn't aware of this.
I was just saying that as per the two responses last page. I wasn't implying it as the consensus. What do you mean 'outside of here'? Came in number 2 or 3 on neogaf's favorite animu list a couple years back.
Golden Boy and Akira are the only two on my "must be watched dubbed" list
You made the wrong choice.

Which version of Akira, out of curiosity?

Although, now that I think about it, at least I got to episode 10 or so of the GTO anime. It was after the student tried to bang him and "incriminate" him at the very least.
Yeah, the Golden Boy dub's funny as fuck. Only way to watch it imo.I'm glad my love and respect for the Golden Boy dub wasn't some delusion.
For the anime, I imagine that manga was still going at the time... and for the drama, that had to be a length thing. That's early GTO in a nutshell. The actual focus on women isn't but an initially reoccurring motif, and even then; the series does do a pretty good job of parlaying that into a genuinely interesting case of character of character development. Read the manga if you're looking for the series' best. From what I remember, the live-action stripped the series of all real substance in the search of laughs, and the anime substantially altered things.
Given that there are prequel/sequel books or whatnot, I'm surprised no one has decided to revisit those for anime... but I guess the industry has moved on from that kind of show.

Mad Bull 34, Garzey's Wing, Sukeban Deka, Angel Cop, Cyber City Oedo 808...there's quite a list, but I guess those are all terrible shows helped by really amazing dubs.

If it's not Streamline then you should be watching the sub.Whatever is on the special edition DVD

They should remake it so that the teacher is a moe 13 year old.Seems so, unfortunately.
the second one's the streamline dub.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYjXwwIcgC8
Second dub in the video (1:15). First one sounds pretty bad.

No, by "amazing" he means "inferior to ADV's Black Lion dub."

Choose Yuru Yuri for the moe yurishitDid I make the right choice in yuri moeshit this year with A Channel, then?
Damn right, it was that good! I've lost count already of how many 'TOLD status' reports I've seen during this week. As SOUND DRAMA Fate/Zero indicates, the expanded version of that episode is going to be even better.Saber getting TOLD so fucking hard. Immensely satisfying. Rider is a goddamn boss.
True, and a good amount of shows used so many times specific tunes restrictively as an accompaniment to certain mood-setting or typical situations that it even made those moments additionally annoying. In some cases it was the other way around, though, and you wanted to hear that tune and immediately after that enjoy what you expected and was going to happen.Less impressive, however, is the shows musical. Much like Marco there simply isn't enough of it to sustain a 26 episode series, much less a 50 episode affair. There's too much repetition and not enough variety, which isn't the kind of problem that you'd see quite as often in a modern show. Perhaps it wasn't one of those things that was heavily pushed at the time these shows were being made but I find the lack of variety quite noticeable.
