See, I told you... now you want more too. But at least it's pretty funny while it lasts...

(Oh, and what, you want him to like the other, non-murderous girls more? Bah, that'd take away most of the uniqueness of the show... but yes, you would think he'd mind getting killed so much. He clearly has realized that that's just her way of showing how much she loves him... :p)

No, I just wanted narrative closure. It could have been done in one more episode really. It's not that I really cared who he chooses, just that he chooses, or something. Though I haven't read the light novels and don't even know if he does there.

The overall quality of Brotherhood's direction makes all of your claims dubious.

I've flipped around on it the past few months, but I've finally decided that the original is indeed better.

Well now that you've finally come to a decision then I guess that's that.

But the original series is better.

No, it's a train wreck and not the fun kind.

The first 1/3 of it is really great, the rest is best forgotten with the movie later taking a huge dump on the series.

While first 1/4 of brotherhood is mediocre, the rest of the 3/4 is great and a lot fun to watch.
The original just handles the brothers’ back story and nina arc way better then brotherhood.

fma manga >>>fma b >>>>>>fma a

The original FMA anime is one of the few shows I can remember having the chance to watch in its entirety when it aired on US broadcast TV. I enjoyed it, and when I later learned how the story had diverged from the original manga I started following the latter as well. It's interesting how they managed to time Brotherhood to end almost the same time as the manga. I didn't watch Brohood though, and besides it's been far too long since I've seen the original for me to make any valid comparisons anyway.

Streaming media notification: both shows are available on Funimation's Youtube channel -- the whole first series is available in both sub and dub forms, while Brohood has the first four hybrid and the rest of the series sub only (incentive to buy the discs, fair enough). Dunno if there's any region restrictions in place, though.

Brotherhood had better fights, more Mustang, Olivier, and Al actually doing something and not being completely useless. So you're probably the only one who thinks the original series is better.

Amazing you spent a few months pondering on it and you still came to the wrong conclusion.

Brotherhood is the much better series. It's really not even close as others in here have mentioned.

I like both versions of Full Metal Alchemist, but the first take on it seemed much stronger than Brotherhood. FMA:B mostly just feels like a Saturday morning cartoon, and I feel like it loses out on character focus as the scope of it expands out. One of the best things about the original FMA is the relationship between Al and Ed that just seems to be suspiciously absent from Brotherhood, making the subtitle rather ironic. As dumb as the ending is the original FMA anime just carries a much stronger story and properly sets the somber tone for the content. Brotherhood seems to get caught up in the action too often, and it can be hard for the characters to truly shine because of all the globe trotting and perspective swapping.

I preferred the original series... but then I kinda just stopped watching Brotherhood part way so I guess it wins be default for me. Though I guess Brotherhood does have sister Armstrong.

For me i like Brotherhood better but i will give the original its props for how they handled the little girl scenario (i will say even better than the manga).

i wanted to go there and personally strangle the shit out of that guy

Bakuman s2 12

Miura is just plain terrible. Shujin really gots emotional. Fun episode. Im glad there was more Aoki however a 90 second stare down scene with no dialogue was quite pointless with
Iwase, why does she need to be brought back into the plot?!

Un-Go 10

Truth be told I don't really give a fuck about what's going on anymore but there's just one more episode left so whatever.

And you all keep listing the things the original did better just because Brotherhood rushed them out in order to get to the new shit quickly.

Yuru Yuri 1

Moes being moes. I got a slightly K-ON vibe in terms of the pacing, but the characterization was definitely different. Not that I'm complaining. Kyoko and Yui are batshit hilarious, and while they're basically the same BFF team represented by Ritsu and Mio, the fact that they take on masculine character properties makes shit HILARIOUS, especially old-man-in-middleschooler's-body Kyoko. It's amusing enough for me to keep watching, let's see if they can't create the proper conflicts to keep it going. There should be enough for a one cours anime like this one...

And you go on about me watching haremshit like Mashiro?! lol

Tuxedo Mask getting beat down puts a smile on my face.

Yeah, maybe they disliked that it was half moe antics, half mono no aware drama? It did both so well though, that was actually one of its strongest points, not a weakness!

Also people kept saying it was a K-on clone, which was unfair and not true.
Girls + instruments = K-On clone, I guess.

I have never been able to even begin to understand why some people actually think this...

What, so they made it one of the most boring animes around on PURPOSE?

That is just not true at all.
Let's not start an A-Channel vs Yuru Yuri war. :p

I have yet to see a good Yurishit anime, however, I have seen the best haremshit anime. Why would I waste my time with what I already know is never going to live up to what I've already seen? It's like using dual analog after becoming proficient with KB&M.

Yuru Yuri 2
My God, it's glorious. The fujioshi, the tsunderes-for-each-other, the poor Student Council VP, so goofy. Hell, they even did the tittie-slap better than A-Channel. Man, what dumb shit that was...

Guilty Crown 10

The show has been consistently bad in all the wrong ways for a while now. They can still turn this thing around, at least partially, if they'd just increase the focus on wheelchair moe. Sadly, it's not looking good.

YuruYuri 3

Damn, that is a nice apartment. I would not be able to afford such a nice apartment. Goddamned loaded kids... My sister walked up about half-way through and watched it too. It gets the Imouto Seal of Approval. Bizarrely stacked apartment aside, it's still awesome. Let's see if it can't stay that way...

Yuru Yuri and Aoi Hana is the most 'apples and oranges' comparison I've seen here in a while.

Why not compare Kanji's arc in Persona 4 to Wandering Son while we're at it?

C3 ep 12 End.

I give the series a 6 out of 10. It made a great recovery from the deceiving episode 1. I loved the action in this episode 12
(Fear should have been using multiple punishments the whole time) and everyone fighting together was nice. Haruaki has honestly been pretty worthless but at least he did do something with painfully freeing himself. Unfortunately the animators failed to remember that as he was in perfect fighting condition apparently.

Peavy was still the best villain and no one else seemed to compare. Alice was close thanks to hear attacks and such (lovely lasers). I really liked Alice's voice as well as personality which fit in well with being a villain.

I just hate how characters are introduced in the last six minutes of the episode.

Based on the episode, I hope they give us a second season....and the second opening is far greater than the first opening, though the first opening as an instrumental was nice.

I'm not going to make any comparisons between Aoi Hana and YuruYuri. It would be like comparing BECK with K-ON!: ill advised. However, YuruYuri and K-ON! both have the Imouto Seal of Approval™.

YuruYuri 4

Beach episode! Some of the gag and narrative elements are just a bit looser, but the plot elements are a bit more focused. It really is hilarious to see these different characters interact, and because it's all Schoolgirl Lesbians, it creates a more laid-back atmosphere in the interpersonal drama. It's surprisingly relaxing.

Horizon 3-10

Woah. I had stopped watching after episode 2 because it seemed like letting some episodes build up would have been better and I guess I wasn't wrong.
I can't believe in 10 episodes Aoi has never done anything worthwhile and yet he's still an enjoyable smugdouché. I actually like how everyone else is good at fighting but him (wouldn't mind if it cane out that he has some nice ability as well tho).
The fight between Aoi's sister and Honda was lol worthy.
