Totally understandable -- for me, most of the time, I watch him learn the system and how to exploit some nuance or intricacy of the system to win. Very admirable and a good explanation of why he wins with a variety of teams on a regular basis (remember MvC3 where he'd bring a new team to WNF every other week and still win it all?)...

However, while he had a couple slightly flashy combos with IF from what I watched of him in the SRK event, he just wasn't really exciting to watch -- I like the "holy shit!" moments of flashiness, like when Richard Nguyen would bring hype new Dante tech and style all over people at WNF... much more entertaining to me.

Plus, the amount of people who almost worship Justin Wong like he's the end-all be-all of fighting games gets old quick. Add that to the "I'm sick of watching <x> win every time" syndrome and now you have an understanding of why I personally don't like watching him win.
 
Fuck, it looks like I missed out on some crazy blowup while I was going home in the rain. Fuck. I should've stayed home today.

While Iron Fist maybe not be the best in the game, it's Akuma that's doing most of the work. Akuma's assist pins you down in the corner for 3 seconds and you have to guess high or low. The rest is BnB combos. I know because I deal with my fiend's Nova with Akuma's assist :/

slightly flashy combos? I've never seen anyone do those kind of Iron Fist combos

oh wait, I haven't even seen Iron Fist until Jwong.

All the other teams in top 8 certainly weren't flashy, the only one who looked really nice was Clockwork's doom. Everyone else was herp derp, wesker magneto.

Other ways to contribute. Show up to tourneys, help run them, spread the word/knowledge of games and whatnot.

SCR was fun this year. KOF got the love it deserves and its ascension is rising. AE had some moments though Rufus Mirror was blah, but Marvel brought it back. Good stuff overall.

Shoutouts to NorCal vs SoCal KOF 5v5 for Loudest/Hypest event of SCR!

I think a stream monster made a joke about you being the mascot the whole time and I couldn't hold the laughter when I was watching the stream with my friend.

The very thought of you acting crazy in that suit is just too funny. :P
 
are there any archive footages? can anyone put the highlights on the first post? didn't get the time to watch it, and the stream quality was pretty shitty for me.

I usually only talk in chat during Rush Hour at Big Two or in streams with sub 500 viewers, I used to talk in every stream chat but then I realized its just more fun to watch the other stream monsters go at it.

I always have it open though, I've never closed a stream chat.

Umm, I don't agree with calling Magneto herp derp at all. Doom is shit ton more herp derp than Magneto.

I meant herp derp that in all his combos look the same. The only one who does swag combos is RayRay. That's what he was complaining about, that all of Justin Wongs combos weren't flashy. It's because he uses the combos that do the most effective damage, and Wolverine doesn't have any really flashy ones. His Iron Fist stuff was top tier though.

Ah, OK.

Well, to be honest a lot of Mags are still trying to adjust to Mag blast combos. (Which are easier than his other combos to be honest.) However, most people are still using the combos they have in muscle memory from MVC3. RayRay ATM is the best U.MVC3 Mag but even he drops Mag blast combos due to still not being fully adjusted to them.

Once more Mag players have time in the lab (To really get that shit into muscle memory) and getting down his new B&B the swag factor will rise for sure. (Though, I'm sure there will be some lazy Mag players that will never bother learning the Mag blast loops.)

And, yes Justin's Iron Fist has hella swag. :)
