The best part of E8 was how it started to alter AnimeGAF's fabric.

EDIT: Checking the 2009 threads I am curious how some people like Fnordchan no longer are regulars. I wonder if E8 did them in...

The best part of E8 was how it started to effect AnimeGAF's fabric.

Endless Eight occurred during the depths of my drinking habit. I was partially convinced that I had merely severed the normal flow of time and found it to speak to me in some weird meta level.

Silver linings and all that.

I don't know, but it was certainly a...memorable experience.

I have a top five, getting to ten is difficult, as it ends up just being a favorite at the moment type of thing.

In that Anime of the year thread of 2010, I was shocked some series got as many votes as they did, I guess people watch stuff but never discuss it here or on the forum.

I've never understood the point of voting for "...of the Year" contests before the year has ended. At the very least there should be a six-month window from the December 31st and the actual voting so that people have enough time to check most stuff.

That's what happened last time.

It didn't make the list any better.

Chihayafuru - 12

I liked this episode, more impressive in that they deal with Chihaya being terrible with pressure without going down the route of angst.

Utena - 33

A recap blowing my mind shouldn't be possible, it shouldn't, that's not how recaps work.

You mean, that's not how recaps work in every show that isn't called Revolutionary Girl Utena. But you see, the rules sometimes have to bend a little.

Kimi to Boku 12

A bit late, but Fuyuki seemed like he should be Kanemecchi's brother versus Shuns younger brother. He really brought along the laughs and was quite a pervy middle schooler. As usual it was a touching episode.

I really like their character design and animation choices given to making the funny faces at times.

Lazily done transparency:

Edit: Not a cat person or anything like that, for the record.

Thanks! I didn't realize you could make the background transparent in .gif form. I had to make the original in 256 colors because the file size was too high >_>

I need to get photoshop at some point.

I'll probably go back to my corgi avatar at some point.

When is the winter season thread going to go up? I was thinking the AOTY vote could start around the same time, or at least after all of this season's 1-cour shows and finishing 2-cour shows have had a chance to end. Which would be no sooner than the... 27th, I think?

Chihayafuru 12

Wow, that was a great episode.
OK, People. I have returned to Birmingham for my holidays and I really want to watch some good Animes this season. I already decided to watch Guilty Crown. Which are the ones that are worth investing in?
Chihayafuru, Tamayura ~hitotose~ and Working'!!. Don't watch Guilty Crown unless you have a thing for girls in wheelchairs, and even then don't.
FABULOUS MAX~

Angel's Egg

This is all about the atmosphere. The ruined landscape through which we wander looks as if it sprung fully-formed directly from a dream. The character animation is appealingly detailed, doing justice to Amano's designs, and the soundtrack haunting due to its orchestration and dissonant harmonic language. I couldn't begin to tell you what it "means" (though the story of Noah, the submerging of the fisherman, and what happens to the egg make me think sin is involved), but that hair!

Electrifying.

So Penguins with hair are fine, but not cats? For shame Anime-GAF.

I at least think your avatar is attractive.

Listening to the pendum triple H album right now and it might be the first time in a long while I'll actually listen to a japanese album past the first listen. I dunno if it's the fanboy in me talking.

e: well, maybe like three songs. At some later point in my life.

A cobble of Christian allegories, sure. The work is full of them.

I've always wondered if anyone else felt viciously happy when
the man shattered her egg.

Just started watching Gurren Laggan, like it a lot so far.

Also almost done with Haruhi Suzumiya. Kinda not sure what to think of it so far. Entertaining but such typical anime sometimes(the self aware stuff is ok). Endless Eight though, lol what a crock of shit.

Mirai Nikki 11

I love seeing
Kurusu lose his shit. Dude has a more subdued way of going insane compared to the rest of the cast, but there's still something unnerving about it.

This is the point of no return. After this, it's a nonstop roller coaster with very little down time. Can't wait to see how they handle it.

And I agree with Unknown, seeing the ladder scene played more comedically was odd. It was tense as fuck in the manga and really made you question what
Minene
was going to do.
