A direct sequel to the Eureka Seven TV series has been announced. "Eureka Seven Ao" is set after the events of the TV series, and is about a young boy named Ao who attains a certain "power" and causes the wheels of fate to turn once more.

It is NOT an anime, but a manga. The illustrations shown are by Yuichi Kato, and they seem to show Eureka and Talho. I'm... not sure how I feel about this. :(

Gintoki and Lelouch advance to face each other in the final four (Hideyoshi vs. Keima is the other match), while Ed and Roy manage to retain some measure of dignity. Also, isn't Inazuma Eleven a DS game about soccer or something?

It will probably be Britannia vs. Hideyoshi in the final. I'll laugh if Hideyoshi wins it all, but somehow I feel it's also appropriate if that happens. Nobody is more moe than Hideyoshi if you apply the same definitions the female moes follow to the men.

Guess I'll read it. Maybe they'll adapt it later. I never watched the movie (or was it movies?) based on recommendations to AVOID them.

Inazuma Eleven is also a long-running manga/anime series.

Fucking fujoshi bait.

As they say, just wait till the movie gets rolling!

So what you're saying is, they've taken properties that people wanted adapted, but corrupted them in some fashion?

Apart from Nisemonogatari, but that's always been corrupted by the power of SHAFT.

I keep forgetting, somehow, that Gundam Unicorn is a ridiculously successful OVA series. They really made all the right choices when it came to that show.

Nisemonogatari best show next season yuo herd it here first. dat Kanbaru.

Girls Bravo 16

Fukuyama should seriously be the main character. THIS is the kind of person I want at the forefront of the harem genre.

All I remember from girl bravro is the main chick eating a bana na. shit was good.

Eden of the East: Paradise Lost

More School Food Punishment for both opening and endings? Nice. I wish the movie was more conclusive, left me feeling like we need a movie 3.

Nice to see Juiz and all the drivers, lol. Hated the mindwipe ending though, so cheap as well as Takizawa never getting to be the king. I also disliked the forced kissing scene. The two movies worked better as one, but both could have used more action. Involvement of the dude on the boat (Tsuji) could have been greater, instantly became a favorite character in these, and Osugi was funny and cool.

EoE sucked bigt time. Waht a waste of time that was, ultimately.

Eureka is soo hot. bring onthe HNNNNGS, my body is ready.

Nanami is the best character in the show. fuck the haters.

yeah, the piano parts with the really awkward looking cg hands were the worst

The Cg sucked. It looked so out of place everytime.

See now that's just not playing fair.

Chiyo-chan is never fair for she is HNNNNGGGGGGG personified.

Cool, looks like Mysterious Girlfriend X will be getting an anime as well.

Looks lke absolute shite will watch.

Saint Seiya 1-3

Lots of homolust going on here. Seiya seems like an unintentional prick, which makes him cool.

Good stuff for an introduction so far. Hope the battles get a bit more strategic.

shiryu is such a bro. Best bronze saint BY FAR..

We got that in Madoka.

Do you mean charlotte. Yeah she was fine.

I understand that situation... ¡ánimo, cajunator!

And take an adorable Chihya with you:

i would have kespt watching Im@s if it look ed like that. Seriously.

XX siempre tienes algo interesante que compartir. Eres un excelente persona. Sigue asi.

I love you.

Hito geting in teh holiday spirit. LOl

And cajunator, it's okay if you like the HNNNNGS man. Nothing wrong with that. Just keep doin your tjhing and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

Fuck teh monocles.

Oh my, that just might be the fuel I need to get through the second half of E7 that I have yet to watch.

Granted that's a pic of the movie that doesn't exist, but still.

Oh. Bummer. :(

Also whats the deal with this long-haired Eureka fan art in this thread. I don't get it.

Speaking of clichéd work with great execution:

[Getter Robo Armageddon 1]

I've already talked about this, but I failed to emphasis the visual power of the imagery in this episode. The heavy, thick lines and angular character designs really stand out compared to most shows where the designs tend to 'blend' in with the background so everything looks flat and uniform. Here, everything is LARGER THAN LIFE. I mean, it's not really standard procedure to mix a piece of 70's hammer horror set-design in the middle of your giant robot show, but they do it here and it works, somehow:

Finally someone is watching this.
It's truly an amazing show.
And the change of director doesn't really hurt it as much as some people like to point out.

While I'm thinking about it: Are there any notable crossovers like the Detective Conan / Lupin 3rd one? Not talking about cameo appearances or one-shot episodes like Arale/Dragonball, but actual big crossovers.

OK due to some reccomendation, I have watched 5 Episode of Chuyufuu (or however you want to spell it) and I like it. There are some good set piieces there that kind of connects everything in a more emotional way.

The only only thing that I don't like about it is the presentation is awful. The art work is up there as one of the most unpleasent artworks I have seen and the animation is very very simple. Not to mention the some of the facial propations are just odd. Another one is the way it induces its melodrama is quite cringe worthy.

The Karuta sport is one I have never heard about and its quite an intresting one. I am glad I have watched this

Thanks Anime-Gaf for this (although many of your reccomendation is a bit... off ;p)

Wow what a backwards looking opinion, I think it's the first time someone has called Karuta "interesting", from either in or outside of the series lol. I think it's supposed to be portrayed as a boring game with us being invested in the enthusiasm of the characters love for it, which actually works.

Now excuse me, I have to unbutton my shirt.

Not intresting as exciting, but intresting as it is something I never heard anything about before this series and I find a neat to discover its unintresting play.

It's funny you think that way. Most people seem to like the art the most with the actual game of Karuta being something one has to put up with. Myself included. It's an interesting opinion, to be sure.

Woah, really? Maybe i do have some backwards opinion. I really don't like the art because how it makes the face unproptional with the lips being huge and the eyes sparkling all the time. However, I do find the actual sport intresting as it is one of those sport I can not fanthom exsisting but there it is being played with passion.

Maybe it has something to do with me discoviring wierd sports with passion

Your opinion is certainly an unexpected one, though it's nice to have a different perspective. The presentation is my favorite part of Chihayafuru - the art and animation are very beautiful, with a few exceptions, and the character drama is effectively portrayed thanks to strong direction and soundtrack. I'll admit it took me a little while to get used to older Chihaya's design, especially her lips, but eventually I came around to liking it. I do agree that karuta is interesting, though I find it so more for the passion the characters have for it and the poetic connections the show draws out than for the game mechanics themselves.

This is my second favorite TV show of the year at present, so I'm happy you seem to have an overall positive opinion of it at least.

It started like fanwork, then it got licensed by Bamco.
Now that you mention it, at least I can post here those Akane's (あかね) first and rough strips from her personal website:

I think there were some translations prior to the time everybody interested centered on the officially published ones.
Man, I really need to rewatch the tv show. I remember catching them on adult swim years ago... How do they hold up?
In my opinion, Lupin the Third 1st Series (the green jacket one) is amazingly good, with that pure essence of the 70s; bold, bad-ass and extremely cool with some eerie and obscure moments, particularly in the episodes from Masaaki Ōsumi (that I love). A closer and more dynamic concept of Lupin & Co., more personal.

Lupin the Third 2nd Series (the red jacket one) is attractive although more predictable; like other long running series of the 80s, takes a very formulaic approach but regularly included interesting situations (sometimes with the inspiration from 'caricaturesque' characters of that time), and presented some very good episodes scattered throughout it.

XX siempre tienes algo interesante que compartir. Eres un excelente persona. Sigue asi.
¡Gracias, trejo! Hombre... la verdad es que no me considero una persona excelente, ¡ni mucho menos! Yo me conformo simplemente con poder ayudar, aunque sea de vez en cuando.

Today's the day the Penguins die :(

I DON'T WANT IT TO END!
Oh man, oh man! I think I've made the right decision not seeing the two episodes previous to this latest one, as now I can watch the three final episodes together. PENGUINDRUM roller coaster, here I come!

Sol Bianca OVA 1 From the Director of Bubblegum Crisis!

solrlots.jpg

After being let down by Maps I needed something space related to scratch that itch for me. Sol Bianca got me half way there.

The show is not breaking any boundaries with its story telling or really with anything that it does, but it's F U N ...so there's that. The story is pretty wafer thin, space pirates (Who are all ladies and a girl) rob a cargo ship and find a stow away kid who wants to go home. They introduce some dictator to be the villain but he is hardly there until the end.
He isn't really all that evil for the majority of the OVA, he is going to kill them for wanting to steal his treasure...not completely unreasonable
. The characters are pretty dumb overall, with the lady pirates just swaggering into fights not giving a shit,
inevitably getting captured, and letting the villain get away for a minute even though he will undoubtedly kill millions of people (WTF?)
.

sol46xr7f.jpg

I don't really like telling people to only watch something for the action, nor do I like watching things just for that reason; however, if you are going to watch Sol Bianca, fucking watch it for the action, there is zero reason to watch for anything else (Maybe if you like blondes with black eyebrows). There is a sniper scene that has to be seen to be believed (
She headshotted them from OUTER SPACE!
.

My biggest complaint would probably be that there was not enough action, it needed more shots of the spaceship, and more scenes like this:

This is why he deserved to die.

I feel the same way about most of the karuta stuff. For me it's a subject I have no familiarity with that can be fun to learn about on a mechanical level. I feel like a lot of that stuff helps validate competitive karuta as something deeper that is worth investing time into for the characters in Chihayafuru.
