Went to an art museum yesterday. They had a Japanese section. Wasn't supposed to take photos, but I had to ninja one relevant to this thread/season.

You know what show I really want? Shadow Star Narutaru. Now that show is fucking hard to find.

Have you seen any of it? It's quite the heartwarming show and full of HNGGG, so I think you'd like it.

Didn't think it would be that hard to find. I remember seeing it on Anime Network like a year ago.

I celebrate Happy Consumer's Day. :)

Actually I celebrate Christmas, but not religiously. For my family it's just an excuse for us to get together and exchange gifts.

Wait.... There is a deeper meaning to Christmas?

I thought it was just the day that people give me anime blu-ray's and ask why I like that weird stuff.

Speaking of flawed works, this would have been much better had they dropped the pretense at narrative and made it a pure abstract work of visual insanity.
That intent was strange. And talking about this, some days ago I saw a report on NHK WORLD that presented facts about this project and the resurrection of the interest for toy companies in financing completely new animated shows.

Apparently, BANPRESTO not only put the 100% of the budget, but also various particular premises to take better advantage of the product (although at first they said to them "do what you like"), like "how many characters would be in it" or "what particular traits each character would have" and similar things that Toei Animation and Rie Matsumoto had to abide. The funny thing was when they mentioned the playful bickering between them, with anecdotes like "we in BANPRESTO wanted the protagonist to have an over-sized weapon, but when they presented us the design and we saw that this weapon was transparent with differently sized balls inside, we were thinking how exactly we were going to manufacture cheaply such a thing for a simple capsule toy" and many others. In the end, they said they liked the experience in collaborating with each other, though.

Of course, they planned exhaustively what type of product to make and what demographics appeal to; "Late-teens-to-mid-20's on both genders" was mentioned, based in their statistics on majority of users from their bpnavi.jp platform (that has 2 million users approx.), and this was why they used primarily a video streaming method of immediate distribution for it.

The most interesting things said is that, according to BANPRESTO's Shigeru Hirata, their biggest desire is to make either a series or a movie, they want to do it for sure, but they'll have to wait and see the reception for this project before. And that they are also waiting for more works to be made this way. Time will tell!

It all looks so damn good. Between this and Future Boy Conan I'm thoroughly impressed by the treatment these classics are getting. Of course they are very well known, but still.
After seeing this very good releases by BANDAI Visual (their last Blu-ray products, for example the PATLABOR ones, have been consistently good), I wish they would have waited to give the same treatment to a series like Sherlock Hound, instead of the 'EMOTION the best' DVD-BOX made available early this year (http://product.bandaivisual.co.jp/web_service/shop_product_info.asp?item_no=BCBA-3977).

They need to make up for Guilty Bomba.
True, that had to hurt...

Stop spreading lies.
What have I done to you? :(

The sooner you accept, the less pain you will feel.
I maybe the only one who is fighting the good cause. You should be ashamed for giving up so easily.

I've just thought Rider is Santa Claus, he has a sleigh, a beard and is jolly.
Stop giving Type-Moon ideas for another heroic spirit in their next Fate/* project.

Also, turns out the actors for the Code Geass musical, when in costume, look like...

...two guys cosplaying as Lelouch and Suzaku. Big surprise, I know.
The official website for the stage play inspired by Sunrise's Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion television anime series posted photographs of the two main cast members on Sunday. Enichi Tanno will play Lelouch Lamperouge himself in Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion: Sōran Eve (Riot's Eve), while Hidemasa Shiozawa will play Suzaku Kururugi.
The website also revealed the story of the play, and indicated that the story's timeframe is set in the anime's episode 9 or later.

Compare and contrast to the Persona 4 stage play cast in costume, I guess:

All My Friends Look Way Cuter With Short Hair END

Looking back I'm not really sure why I kept up with it other than the occasional Rika moments. Well, at least that's one more out of the way.

A pretty good end to a really well done series. Overall it was far better handled than the first series and I hope we see another one soon, preferably with more Maya and Yamada-kun.
