Rinne no Lagrange pre-air

Such a strange show. The OP/ED makes it look like a magical girl show. The pre-air quality is rather poor, but the animation looks promising with limited CG work(as far as I can tell, only the transformation scene looked off).

Mecha designs remind me of NGE, with a touch more Super Robot influence. A female lead is a refreshing change, maybe Gundam will take a hint if this show does well!

Looking forward to more.

That's pretty true. I wrongly figured Steins got no play because of the hype devouring beast that was MPD. It seems that way here on GAF, at least.

AnimeGAF is its own little world. Lots of people on GAF loved Steins;Gate, evidenced by it more than likely going to finish 4th in the AotY thread.

On the subject of Ikuhara I'm not a fan at all. Penguindrum was completely uninteresting. Utena was pretty good but not really amazing. But I can say that his 2 episodes I've seen of his from Sailor Moon thus far have been better than anything else I've seen with his name on it.

Wandering Son 1

This is an extremely well-made, well-directed, poetic and beautiful show - though the shiny hair can be a bit much. The composition of the class feels a bit contrived to make gender issues appear everywhere, but I don't mind.

It really is. Such a great show that is incredibly well directed.

You can call me Reg-chan if you want to...

I'm going to call you Reggie. I hope you don't mind.

Rinne no Lagrange 1

Seems pretty fun. The more female mech shows we get, the closer we are to getting a female Simon. Maybe Madoka will be the one to finally one-up Nono.

Rinne no Lagrange 1 (Pre-Air):

This pre-air internet stream quality is balls. Now I remember why I only watch anime in HD these days.

The good news is, they've successfully combined moe and mecha into, well, something. I'm sure Production I.G. will ensure this show has the technical quality it needs. If we're lucky, this Madoka will have a robot boyfriend too. Also, robots suplexing robots.

I've been hoping one day someone will follow the example set by Idolmaster: Xenoglossia and combine moe and mecha into, well, something. It seems this day has finally come.

Mayo Chiki! 1 & 2

I'm impressed, decent premise and a likable main character. Wasn't expecting much so i'm happy.

Warning: Not Anime

I can remember, way back around 2002, Matt Casamassina posting a link to an online web comic in the IGN Cube mailbag. This web comic was an experience I had never seen before. Instead of using the typical panel format, a "statically animated", cinematic approach was used. To add to the atmosphere, sound effects and music accompanied the visuals. It didn't take long for me to get hooked on this "motion comic" by following its release chapter by chapter, downloading them with my dial-up connection. When the first high resolution DVD remake, complete with voice acting, was released I made sure to nab a copy.

I was looking at my anime DVD collection when I spotted the Broken Saints DVD. For some unknown reason I came down with the urge to share it with AnimeGAF. Now I want to watch it again. That'll have to wait until I finish Gundam 00, the two styles simply clash too much to be watched at the same time. If you've never heard of Broken Saints I recommend checking it out.

Start with the classic website, it really gets you in the mood. Explore it, imagine visiting that back in the early 2000's. I doubt you would have seen anything like it at the time. The sites music is actually running in the background as I type.

One drawback the classic site is it's a little low resolution for this day in age. An alternative can be found by watching it on YouTube.

Go and give it all a look.

Thanks to everyone spoiler tagging the steins;gate talk. Makes it easier to gloss over whenever I see it. Hopefully the translation is done soon. :(

It's hard to imagine the anime being done better than it was (unless you're Jexhius), so you might as well watch it now and play the game later.

I remember when the motion comic thing was seen as a way to both enhance comics and to prevent piracy. Crossgen!

Marvel tried this recently with some X-men title a couple of years ago... but I assume it was a bust, since no one seems to be talking about that now and all the craze is on digital comics these days.

Nah, the final patch will probably be done in a matter of weeks, or much less. A rough patch already being available. I'd advise that anyone starting now, with the intentions of playing the game, just wait.

What I wouldn't give to see Suzutsuki do that in jest. XD (sadly this does not happen)

Ben-To 10:

Ahahahahhaa....don't fuck with the shopping handbaskets combo!

I'm glad they got back to the fighting over half-priced lunch boxes.

Also, new versions of the OP and ED which feature the second parts of the songs and some new animations. Including more twins. You can never have too much twins!

Freezing 7

Wait, so an
8 year old boy essentially raped a 9 year old girl?
That is such an Im Dal Young plot point. Kind of figured Satellizer's past would be like that.

Some really good fights this episode. The acceleration seems to be one of the keys to the spectacle.

It wasn't rape, just sexual harassment. At least according to the manga, not sure how they represent the issue in the anime

Ben-To 11:

The Greek mythology angle is fucking hilarious. The best thing about this show is that they play it completely straight and serious even though everyone knows it isn't. I think that's why it's so successful, because the faux-serious is so genuine.

Also, the fighting is awesome. The second half of the series has been sorely lacking in that department, unfortunately

On to the finale!

She's still left a broken mess afterwards, and the brother uses it as a way to powertrip. The specifics aren't the point, it's the end result that's the same.

Yeah, no arguing that.
To be honest, I didn't really like that arc because it diverges completely from her normal personality and she's completely willing to become his bitch until he stopped himself. At the same time, it almost feels necessary in order to give some depth to her current character

Do you read the manga by any chance?
