Bodacious Space Pirates 1

Introduction episode. Could really go either way. If we get awesome swashbuckling adventures on the high seas of space, then I'll be happy. Definitely seems like a fun world.

I don't care that my opinion may not be a popular one.
With how old she is, the only excuse not to use protection is lazyness and irresponsibility. I know that accidents happen sometimes but I still find that what happened with her at her age completely went against how she behaved as a child. Of course in the case of something like rape that wouldn't apply but the anime made it clear that it was some old boyfriend of hers. I get that she's a teenager so she's horny and shit because of hormones or whatever but putting on a condom would take five seconds.
I'm sorry if that offends anybody but it's my view of the subject, like I said before it may not be a popular opinion and obviously there are different cases and circumstances but imho it just shows a giant lack of forethought and maturity.

[Moribito 1] (Rewatch)

It's pretty impressive how good this first episode looks. Perhaps I've just become accustomed to living in a world where only shows featuring cute girls doing cute things get to look good.

It's also worth nothing how much of Balsa's character they define in this episode, both through spoken dialogue and the actions she takes. It's really commendable how much they cram into such a short time. Perhaps most importantly she isn't a 'boring stoic strong female' like far too many 'strong women'.

normally where theres a huge gap in common sense you can blame alcohol

I'm a little surprised that there exists a..."picture book" filled with nothing but old men wearing glasses tbh. And that she just found this lying around somewhere.

At this point, I can believe anything. It sounds crazy enough.

I forget who's impression they were, but they made me add this to the backlog just a little while back. I'm not in the mood for it atm, but it does indeed look beautiful.

I would love to hear your opinion on the matter and why mine is so ignorant that it can only be caused by being under the influence. Go on educate me, and I say that without any sarcasm before anybody claims otherwise.

im sorry, I didn't realize you were born without a sense of humour

You picked a great series to watch here.

Well after having three posts basically tell me I'm wrong without explaining why they feel that way it tends to leave me defensive.

I wasn't picking at your reasoning
just posting because i haven't had internet for 2 weeks because my isp is a joke

Damn it Uchip.

lol sorry

edit: Im bitching at them on the phone and i cant understand the guy because hes mumbling, cant even watch anime! dammit

See, this is why you don't go for the harem end.

They actually did work in some of the stuff from
Awakened Miki
after all, but re-arranged for Haruka as the catalyst, not Miki. Well, there's only 2 episodes left now. I'm not sure why they saved all the serious stuff for the end, it would have worked a lot better if it occurred during the course of the show instead of all crammed at the back.

Agent AIka - 6

Even without Neena and Rudolf Haagen, I would say the best episode of the OVA. Pretty much the perfect combination of fanservice, mecha, action and jokes.

Only nami goes round stealing treasure but only from other pirates, but they do steal treasure from a town once(IJ mentioned).

they are legal pirates in one piece.

I dunno, luffys food runs could be considered stealing

I think the only real defining thing that makes them pirates is that they are outside the law, and with luffys exploits against the navy and the government he definitely deserves his super high bounty

The question here is, did we invent the term 'kugiloli'? If we did, and therefore nobody else on the Internet uses it, it stands to reason that we dominate the Google results.
Well, with the help of Google search tools and after seeing various time custom ranges, it seems that the apparent origin of the term (as far as little Googlebot knows) resides on this blog entry:

EveTaku Blog: So I'm due for an update.
http://evetaku.blogspot.com/2011/01/so-im-due-for-update.html

So... anyone here knows about it?

Brave 10
I enjoyed this. The fight scenes were cool and the character's fighting styles are interesting. The hot blonde will show up in the next episode and I like Sarutobi's style.

Ah goddammit, I gotta go clean my glasses again. And then on to the series finale!

Majikoi 1

So... Was this big ol battle the end of the show, or the beginning? Really funny, but this isn't how the VN starts at all.

[Michiko & Hatchin]
If you honestly agree with Jex's hypothetical statement
that all single mothers must have done something wrong
then I don't even know where to start. And I probably shouldn't. Soz.

I didn't generalize as clearly there are different circumstances, but with regards to
being a teenage mom, where the sex was consensual then I see them as irresponsible and immature. The only thing they did "wrong" was being too impatient to wait five seconds and put on some protection. I'm not saying they should of gotten an abortion and I'm not faulting them for having sex. It's just, getting pregnant at that age when you didn't want a child says a lot about a person's character.

I never finished Idolmaster. Should I?

I would. It gets really good at the end. The Jupiter arc wasn't even the real arc of the story, the real story actually starts after Jupiter are sorted. Speaking of which, we see Touma again quite a bit near the end, and he helps Haruka out a bit too.

More thoughts to come.

How far did you get? If you didn't like it and already watched most of the show it probably isn't worth it, but some of the later episodes are the better of the bunch.

Aquarion Evol - 1

Oh, this is gonna be a fun show. Not a fan of the
gender segregation
going on. At least, the
GATTAI is as good as ever and NTR I guess?

You do know that condoms aren't at all a guarantee, right? And after even that,
getting pregnant at a young age, and ending up alone, says nothing more about a person than the fact that they're human and capable of making mistakes, if anyone is to even see it as one; with something like this, really, nothing should be said unless you're personally part of it, and/or know the exact details. Assumptions in this area are just tacky.

You should spoiler that first part.
Condoms aren't some impregnable defense but they provide a good chance against such a thing and it hardly takes time to get one on plus there's always the pill as well. Accidents happen sure, and yes when it comes down to it they're just people. But this is a pretty big mistake to make when it can easily be avoided by just carrying some protection either in a purse, pocket, car glove compartment, the drawer next to the bed, etc. The only person directly connected to me who had an unplanned child is a cousin of mine, and I feel that she's completely irresponsible. A selfish grown woman with the mind of a teenager, I also know a few other women who have had unplanned children. I said it before that it may depend case by case but I think that most teenage pregnancies occur because of carelessness and irresponsibility.

EDIT: Didn't catch ending up alone the first time I read through. I don't fault her for ending up alone, not in the least, sometimes shit like that happens and is beyond our control. Something like a pregnancy however needs a lot of things to go wrong if the person has been careful.

I only have 3 eps of Imas left to watch really. I like the series, I just didn't bother finishing it.
Oh, yeah probably worth finishing then for some kind of closure. They're not that great of episodes necessarily but they could have been worse.

Anne of Green Gables 19

The budget saving necessities of a 50 episode series reared its ugly head, as there were considerably more stills here than usual. Still a good episode. Thanks to her frank and outgoing nature, Anne can wheedle her way into anyone's heart, even that of a crusty old lady like Aunt Josephine.

Gintama 100

Hmmm, seems a bit too soon to have another serious arc.

It's been twenty episodes since the last big serious arc (Yagyu); I don't see that as too soon.

Gurren Lagann 18

I don't like
government bureaucrat Rossiu. What an asshole. Too bad Simon has way more fighting spirit than that dude so he'll never win.

I just find it easier to not have an opinion on something I'll never have to experience first-hand.

I've heard they are quite different.

ABF mentioned that to me too, so I tried the show. I didn't think it'd be this different though. The VN starts much like Genshiken, and stays that way for a while.
