lmao. just realized the reason why I stopped watching gundam AGE was because the latest Unicorn eps was so fucking bad.

How has the past month or so of AGE been holding up? Flint might have been one of my fav main gundam duders. Has brains and is for the most part, pretty chill.

Bartender 11 End

This show is just a class act. The final episode was a nice concluding paragraph to the themes the show was trying to convey throughout. It was just a joy to watch, and I even learned something about bar tending and alcohol in the process. A real hidden gem if I've ever seen one.

Hmm, I may be crossing streams now, having watched/read every form of the property possible, but I never actually caught wind an over-arching theme in Bartender, and I always figured that to be the point; with a job like that comes a varying stories/issues, each having their own theme. Very episodic.

I have this weird feeling all the negative posts about Aquarion Evol is just going to make more people watch it.

Ugliest robots since like, fuck, i dunno.

Since the original Aquarion?

The show sounds pretty much like that was - i.e. terrible, but sort-of deliberately so? As long as the music's good I'll probably still watch most of it.

So is Gunbuster Renewal the original series with new/better animation or something? I can't find out any real concrete info.

Also perusing Amazon for Gurren Lagann stuff(need DVD NOW) and they have a surprisingly creepy amount of body pillows on here including 12 year old Nia.

Theme might have been the wrong word to use. Maybe purpose is more appropriate. The last episode felt like a summation on the purpose of the Bartender and the whole series for me.

Well, to not waste a post, I'll post this:

ABF mentioned that to me too, so I tried the show. I didn't think it'd be this different though. The VN starts much like Genshiken, and stays that way for a while.
I said that the manga and anime had completely different stories from eachother. So is the manga more like the VN and the anime's its own thing, or is each of the three different? I don't know anything about the VN's story.

Dunno actually. I haven't actually tried the manga yet. I'm not going to go any further in anything else until I finish the VN. I did only the first ep of the anime, and it naturally shared a few things, but was completely different otherwise.

Tenchi: Ryo-ohki Episode 1

This OVA series of Tenchi looks crazy good on blu-ray. Sound is great too.

I was lamenting the fact that there wasn't an english dub track, since I liked back in the day (or was just used to it).

But then I heard Ryoko's voice. Dat Voice.

Also Dat Background Music.

I was never a fan of Ryoko when I was watching the multiple series back in the day, but I think I am one now.

THE IDOLM@STER Relations

This is a manga which was issued a few years ago around the time of the original 360 release of the original game. So it follows the timeline and character appearances of the first series of games, now retconned as "1st Vision". It focuses mainly on the anime Producer-san's eerie doppelganger and Miki, who was a new character on 360 at the time. Speaking of Producer-san, he looks so much like his anime counterpart that it's not hard to guess that the anime staff got the ideas for his appearance from his manga appearances. Either that, or in Japan all idol producers are tall and slim, have slightly unkempt hair, and wear glasses. And suits, they always wear suits even though it seems that being an idol producer means you get quite a workout every day running from place to place.

As for Miki, she doesn't look much different between "1st Vision" and "2nd Vision" other than she was given bangs in 2V. The other idols make cameos throughout the story but this manga is pretty much about Producer-san and Miki, hence the name. Relations is Miki's de-facto image song, something you can see towards the end of the anime. Well, it's also kind of about Chihaya, Iori, and Makoto, but not really. Haruka has a recurring cameo role as the host of her own radio show, something alluded to but obviously not really explored in Xenoglossia.

Really I kind of want to read THE IDOLM@STER Break! for the lulz, Relations seems like a straightforward alternate-universe story and it's not nearly as exciting as I might have hoped.

[Aquarion Evol 1]

This show is terrible. I can't describe the plot.

It features:

- Three times faster red mech
- Combining orgasm robots
- Shining palm hand of power
- FLYING LOVE ATTACK right into the moon

sounds like the best show ever

I take it Aquarion is basically a more forward Macross Frontier or something, with sex instead of singing? I guess I'll find out soon enough...

That had to be one of the most bizarre forms of trying to
figure out who Sailor Moon is
I could possibly imagine. I have to wonder what Takeuchi (or Ikuhara or whoever it was if this was anime only) were thinking of when they thought of putting that into the story.
Nearly every monster-of-the-week format you see in Sailor Moon was invented for the anime. The manga DOES have a few youma, though.

Tenchi: Ryo-ohki Episode 1

But then I heard Ryoko's voice. Dat Voice.
Ai Orikasa sounds so much better than they raspy voice the dub gives her.

Gurren Lagann 27

Wow.

Using galaxies as weapons, omg that was fucking AWESOME

TENGEN TOPPA GURREN LAGANN!

WHAT DID I JUST SEE WITH MY EYES HOW MANY MECHS OH GOD

NIA :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(. I totally get why it had to happen but ;( make me sad

Simon :bow,
He didn't become Kameda, he was his own person through and through.

Top 3 anime for me, holy wow. It had literally everything I want from an anime in terms of story, characters, art, animation, and general what the fuck is that moments. Pure magic, bro-fist to all my blood brothers.

Final words: JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM?

Damn awesome series. Glad you liked it! ^_^

sakura squeeing over penguins. Hnnng.

Sakura already has 4 cards. She aint messing around.

Show is long, but yes they don't mess around too much. But I love the wacky hnnnnng hijinks! ^_^

guys why didnt gandalf just ride an eagle to drop the ring in mordor

'cause then the book would be 10 pages and suck. ;-P

What is this the hnnngh grid?

I recognize a bunch of those...

Also, I made it through 4 episodes of CCS before falling asleep and calling it a night.
The marathon will continue today until tonight when there is a college football championship game, which my state's college team is in, so of course I have to watch that.

Mech fans need to check out Gao Gai Gar. Because ITS FUCKING AWESOME.
I'm not a mech fan and I enjoyed it because its FUCKING AWESOME.

Gintama 241

I probably should make Sengoku Basara one of my next viewings.

Quite the Angel.

There was a while twenty seconds dedicated to the Shinsengumi in the opening. If I didn't already know I'd suspect a Shinsengumi arc was on the horizon.

I believe I've seen enough clips of the show when I compared it to the Gintama parody.

I find the Bartender opening never gets old.

[Zero no Tsukaima F Ep. 01]

"S-Stupid dog!"

Kugiloli is best loli.

Next week:
To Aru Majutsu no Louise

[Highschool DxD Ep. 01]

Boobs, booby AND panty shots, demon chicks, a protagonist that has nothing but boobs on his mind
(even when he's lying in a puddle of his own blood, dying, he's still thinking about boobs. Gotta give the man props for that at least)
. He really does have an awesome alarm clock lol. Might continue watching it, might drop it. I don't know yet.

[Last Exile: Fam, The Silver Wing ep. 12]

Looks like Gonzo run out of budget already. Seeing as it's usually the case with them I wonder why I'm even surprised by it.

Anyway, this time it's a
retrospective episode showing the events of the first Grand Race. It's a very cheerful episode right up until the very end when shit starts hitting the fan.
It's a rather important episode so it makes me a sad panda that it's plagued by QUALITY.

Next week:
Soviet Russia, here we come!

[Mirai Nikki ep. 13]

A fanservice episode? In my Mirai Nikki? It's more likely than you think!

I'd write that shit is about to hit the fan, but I know that the real shit hitting the fan moments will come much later. Still, awesome episode was awesome and I can't wait for the next one.

[Bodacious Space Pirates ep. 01]

I like the mother already. "Your father was a space pirate. Hmmm, I forgot to tell you that? No biggie." lol

"Legal pirates." That sounds so wrong XD

This show will either be totally awesome or totally boring. Not sure which yet. Will follow.

[Poyopoyo Kansatsu Nikki ep. 01]

HHHHHHHnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! *dies*

Aya Hirano is teasing that she might be in the Akito cast. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

How about this?

bgTitle.png

Wait what is this? Is this a prequel or something to Geass? I thought there was some manga version or whatever depicting a squad in Europe. Is this an adaptation of that?

It's not really a prequel, nor is it based on any manga. It's a new original anime series in the Geass universe set at around the time of the first series, except in the European front. It's directed by Kazuki Akane, and has been in development for over 2 years.
