Well, the game is pretty much a port of the PS3 version with some new weapons, tracks, and editing features made by San Diego Studio, the Publisher of the PS3 game, so UFG isn't even involved.

When asked about DLC they said this:

"Comment From WhiteF8ng
Any plans for DLC on the Vita?

Vernon:
Hey WhiteF8ng! We are always open to the idea! Our focus for the game was to take all of the PS3 DLC content and make it available for the Vita!"

So are they going to charge for the same DLC... again? Or do they mean make it free and no DLC?

Really, the game doesn't scream sequel at all. I just want MNR2.

Well that's fucking stupid. Sony's launching two racing games day one and one of them is clearly rushed. I think it'd stand a chance if they delayed it a few months to get online mode in and people would be hungry for another racing game, but as it stands the game is destined to fail.

Poor planning on Sony's part.

The PSP, and PS3 versions of Modnation contained online races, I seriously don't understand how they think it's a good idea to launch the Vita version without it.

Went on Amazon and preordered

PS Vita - Wifi
16GB Memory Card

Right now im gonna hold off on preordering games until more reviews come, hopefully gravity daze isn't too far from the launch.

Ordered Vita from Amazon today. Not a big handheld gamer. Hardly touch the 3DS, but I do like to own every platform, and I have a feeling the second thumbstick is going to be the difference maker that actually makes me game on this thing.

I play my PSP and DS sporadically, but I really feel like I am going to play the vita a lot. Laying in bed playing hot shots online just seems amazing in my head lol

yeah i don't see why i should keep my modnation preorder. i already played the shit out of the ps3 version. no multiplayer in a kart racer? wtf?

Lame. Looks like Modnation Racers: Road Trip might not even support online multiplayer racing.
Incredibly short-sighted if true. Unlike new portable Wipeout or Resistance entries, MNR is a game that really gains something from being on Vita (with its touchscreen and all). It could actually become a notable franchise if done right, and Vita is the only Sony hardware that could do the game's build aspects justice. Yet the Vita version ends up with a less robust feature set than even the PSP version.

Mario Kart 7's online community ensures that the game will have insane legs (which is all the more shocking because of Nintendo's iffy past with netplay), yet Sony is content to cut any potential this game had at the knees. MNR will be DOA in the midst of such a packed lineup, so a delay to the slower summer months would've made perfect sense, especially if the team was so rushed they couldn't even include the fundamentals.

I disagree. The touch screen is a benefit, but the smaller screen negates that. It's hard enough making detailed stuff on my TV. Plus it's a capacitive touch screen, so accuracy goes out the window. MNR is better suited to home consoles.

My first reaction: they finally have umpires!

On the PSP version, they have the animation of the catcher reaching behind him as if to grab the ball from the ump, but there's no one behind him. Thought it was pretty funny.

That looks awesome. I'm leaning towards buying both PSV and PS3 versions of MLB, but I'm hoping that there would be some kind of voucher included in the PS3 version for an online download for the PSV version at a cheaper price.

You also hold the screen of the Vita much, much closer than the TV. People regularly read on devices like the iPhone, while very few people read on a TV.

Heck, there are a number of 5" wide e-readers (including one by Sony), which is as wide as the Vita screen (though obviously the Vita is shorter).

Beyond that, look at how well Mario Kart 7 has done on the 3DS. It's sold a million in Japan. Obviously MNR doesn't have the appeal of MK, but it does show there is a demand for a kart racer with online multiplayer on a handheld.

Expensive Memory Cards.
No video out option (although this is minor for me).
Memory prices are in-line with market standards (especially for the most popular mobile-devices on the market). The only thing that can be put into question is the ability to buy hardware with no memory through official channels.

As for Video out - personally I found the cabled-option on handhelds very clunky and borderline unusable to date. Until there's a widely usable wireless standard(Intel has something that works well over WiFi), this will remain a limited use feature at best.
Although on what could potentially be related to this - has anyone officially confirmed what's the extra Expansion port on Vita for/what interface it uses (there is one on top of the unit).

actually, the psp go handled it quite well. i have mine so that i put it into a cradle next to my tv. the cradle has a power cable and a component cable connected to the tv. then, i use the dualshock 3 as a controller and can sit back on my couch. they really nailed it.

Kart games are great for handhelds, creation tools are not. I'm only about 5 feet from my 26" TV. Trust me, a smaller screen is a big negative for this game.

The ones where they just rubbed the screen and haphazardly placed props? There haven't been any videos of intricate track design. Most videos they just autopopulate.

Yeah, but I thought that was what they were aiming for. Just quick, easy track design.
How was it on PSP?

Do i want to go retail or should i buy a 32 GB stick with my First Edition Bundle and go digital?

why buy the 32gb stick with the first edition? the only reason to get the bundle is because the deal of getting a 4gb stick, game, and case for 50 bucks is good. why have a pointless 4gb stick if you have the 32? i bet little deviants will drop in price pretty fast too.

i say get whatever standalone version you want and the 32 if you really want the 32.
