im not going to reply to you if you're just going to exaggerate and insinuate
what happened to not shitting up the thread and ignoring me?
Lol.

And don't IM me about it on Steam if you're just going to bring it out here again.

Okay, let's not go through that shit again. If you want to have a long drawn out conversation between two people, get a room (pro-tip: use PM). This isn't a chatroom.

K-ON being sexualized would not be surprising but I highly doubt many people see it that way. I dont.
When I think of anime girls i would smash Im thinking of Urd, Misato, Aoi Sakuraba, that sort.
There is a pretty distinct difference.
However anime likes to throw curveballs with females with bombshell bodies who are supposed to be 14-16 years old like Yohko Littner and Eclair from Kiddy Grade.
It is very obvious how these characters are intended to be viewed and it further confuses outsiders.

Rinne no Lagrange 2

Still fun, although I would have preferred the fight to end in the episode, instead of continuing into the next.

Another 1

First episode was basically a faithful transposition of what I've read of the manga, at least of what I remember of the manga. I liked it, as a mystery/horror story it's not bad.

Well, the actual fight is probably going to take up most of next episode. I doubt there's time for it in a single episode.
Since it's 2v1, I think Lan will probably take off and join in anyway.

Persona 4 the Animation 3

I was feeling kind of iffy about the show, but Brotag's "I wish I'd taped it" and Yosuke slurping the katana like a lollipop justify everything forever.

Does the animation get any better, though?

I like this setup better honestly, and they got some exposition out of the way too. And saving that budget for you-know-what.

Gets worse.

Aim for the Ace 1:
Well, that had a lot of still shots. The visuals are pretty interesting though, and the characters are set up nicely in the first episode. I like the way the show was introduced with the narration, and Hiromi seems likable enough. The coach also seems pretty cool based on the first episode. It feels weird to actually be watching this show after putting it off for so long.

Another 02:

I already talked about how brilliant this show is at establishing atmosphere and tone, so I won't reiterate it here.

The show features a very common visual motif involving dolls. I've seen the dolls motif used in a number of different works, in both Western and Eastern media. In terms of anime, the most recent interesting use of the dolls motif was in Kara no Kyoukai, where one of the main characters is a doll-maker who hides the magical ability to bring them to life and even transfer their own consciousness from one body to another, and in that sense become essentially immortal as long as a backup body is always available for use when the current one is killed.

Anyways, the show explicitly explores the very first Uncanny Valley in human thought when Mei asks Kouichi point-blank if he finds life-like dolls to be creepy. The strange and eerie beauty of life-like human dolls has a parallel in the Uncanny Valley which occurs when videogame characters reach a level of realism that look eerily like but also different from how real humans look. This also goes for films animated entirely with CGI, most notably Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Some people found the life-like yet somewhat awkward human models in FF:TSW to be creepy, and for the same reasons.

The visual motif of dolls is very commonly used in horror, so much so that it has been the subject of horror as parody. The Child's Play movies come to mind here. When executed skillfully, this motif can still be capable of instilling the sense of foreboding and unease that is associated with life-like yet somewhat awkward representations of the human form. This show likes to show brief shots of the dolls as interstitials between scene changes. The animators need to be careful not to overuse this motif as it is so heavily overused already to the point of parody elsewhere.

The analogy of Mei as a doll is similar in some respects to the analogy of Shiki as a doll in KnK.
Both characters died at some point and yet are still apparently alive and present in the current world. Therefore, their current forms can be thought of as human-like and yet no longer human, in much the same way the dolls are human-like and not human.

The PV for the next episode actually shows Lan taking off and joining the fight.

Watched a few more things today.

Hoshizora Ova: It feels like it's so rare that the 'bro' character ever gets any spotlight let alone actually getting a relationship of his own in these harem shows. It's nice to see it happen once in awhile. Go Daigo. A fun pandering ova with shota galore.

Call me Papa 1: Terrible CG people aside, it wasn't that bad. If it leans more toward the daily antics of some college freshman having to take care of of his sister's 3 kids than the other terrible things that could arise from the premise it might be a little fun (hoping for too much probably). With a weirder version of Takane from IMaS, the college life part could be amusing. As long as they make no more use of CG people.

Symphogear 2: What happened to Hibiki going berserk on those squishy noise? A standard set up after intro episode explaining what things are and why singing jpop gives girls superpowers. I think it'd be way more interesting if other sorts of music activated the relics, like bust out some smooth jazz. But then I guess that wouldn't sell them singles. : ( There was also some yuri or something going on too.

Kill me Baby 2: I chuckled here and there but for the most part this a pretty dull 4koma adaptation for me. Might give it one more episode.

Highschool DxD 2: A -dere clock that varies its wake up alarm is genius. I wonder if these actually exist. So MC is a demon now and the show just became Scyred. I am okay with this.

Milky Homies S1 + S2 ep 1: Sometimes, just sometimes the current JC Staff manages to make a show that's actually fun to watch. This was one of them. I actually laughed a lot at the shear stupidity and inanity of many of the scenes. Anything involving Twenty and his extremely pointy nipples and Cordelia's insane rampages was gold to name a couple things. JC Staff really should do more straight comedies with no fluff.

Another 02:

I'm liking the artwork and animation of the show (despite the long necks), and I get that they're going for atmospheric, but again I feel it's laying it on a bit too thick compared to the actual substance we've received. Like, the school itself and the school yard looking dirty; I'd be okay with that if the school were, say, abandoned. But kids are attending it. I don't think parents would be too happy if they found out their kids were attending a school that's so dirty and unkempt.

However the last scene with all the dolls was executed beautifully with great atmosphere and direction, which is good because this is the major scene that seems to be moving things a bit forward, establishes an interesting question ("You're not creeped out by the dolls?"), and leaves on a nicely set up cliffhanger.

Will keep watching, I just hope we're getting close to the meat now.

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou

I just finished my re-read of the YKK manga. While I did read it before, having it fresh in my mind has an impact on how I view the events in the OVA's. Whomever hasn't checked out this series yet is really doing themselves a disservice.

It's a little hard whether to recommend reading the manga or watching the OVA's first. One might be a little lost when viewing the OVA's without having read the manga. However, I believe reading the manga after will give the OVA's a deeper meaning.

From the definition I looked at, this series definitely is "mono no aware". I'm not all that in to using Japanese terms so I'll call it bittersweet, in a good way.

Ano Natsu 2

The loli is pretty devious huh? I like her. In general the cast seems pretty enjoyable so far, which is rather promising.

I did catch a bit of it on Toonami growing up, thought "Why isn't anything happening? So boring", and stuck to Sailor Moon.

From what I remember, there was more stalling in Sailor Moon than DBZ, but it's been a long time so that could be wrong. The "powering up for a whole episode" is definitely an overblown complaint though and only happened once in the entire 291 episodes. It's also kind of a moot point now with Kai existing and all (except for the Buu saga which is where that one episode is).

You chose correctly.
There was an animation error where two Chies were on screen at the same time in different places.

I just thought that was a bonus.

Not really. But it's still worth watching IMO, as for all its flaws parts of it are quite well-executed. Just be aware that there's a "read the manga" non-ending.

I dont read manga and open endings dont bother me.

Is Kamisama Dolls as good as its OP?

It has some damn good facial expressions and occasionally good action. That's about it though barring the very good episode here and there (like 10 I think).

It's not an open ending though. It's literally a "this is all the shit you're missing by not reading the manga, go do it! to be continued!" ending.

I see. Well that kind of suckss.
But i want to see it. After twenty more eps of Cardcaptor Crack.

Anyone who has watched DBZ is aware of the infamous "Five more minutes." line by Freeza.

I remember hearing somewhere that in the manga Goku comments at some point it has been longer than five minutes and Namek is still there. What a poor choice of a line to omit. It really would have killed the joke of the five minutes being stretched out over a few episodes.
