Now that I think on it, Punk's promo was good, and gave him some fire again, but what really made that finale was Johnny Ace's big angry promo afterwards. The two together gave that feud a lot more legitimacy. Even if it's been questionable how they got here, they are here regardless and they should make the best feud of it they can with the situation they have.

The worst thing about tonight was the PG-ifying of the Funkettes.

Camera man must've got fired after that camera view on Naomi on Smackdown.

Well...let's be honest, even as a face against the evil boss, Austin was an asshole. That's why people loved him.

Maybe Punk just comes across as more of a prick while Austin more came across as a uncontrollable animal.

I guess I should go back and look at how Austin Vs McMahon started.

Did that start before or after the Bret Screwjob? I mean that event pretty much made Vince the heel that he was for the next 10 years.

Laurinaitis hasn't really done anything heelish yet. He makes good matches and text's people a lot. THATS all he has done. Why are people booing him? A bunch of apple fanboys pissed that he uses a blackberry? A bunch of marks who hate him because JR doesnt like him?

I guess he sort of cost Punk that match with Ziggler a while ago???

edit. Oh and I guess I backed out the Nash stuff..... ya know.... Maybe they need to have more of a back and forth. Recently it just seems like mostly Punk being the asshole during the feud.

well yeah.

Only after about 6 months of Punk riding on him, making fun of the way he talks. calling him a douchebag on live TV, belittling the mans work and making him look a fool.

If I was John I would totally be out to get punk as well.

I know they want to capture a little of the stone cold vs Vince magic here but they have to do something to make Laurinaitis more evil. So far I totally see why he might be pissed at Punk.

Buh!? Who was it that Vince sent to ring the bell at Money in the Bank in the first place? John was trying to screw punk (or at least be part of the screw job) before Punk was even champion.

Vince and Austin had some disagreements before WM14, but it really started with just the two of them (no HBK or anyone else) after that, and well, it started pretty much as Vince being unhappy with Austin as a beer swilling swearing uncouth champion, and wanting a more corporate type champion.

Vince was quite a wimp at the start, getting shoved around by Austin and made a fool off, before gradually becoming more vicious and eager to destroy Austin himself rather than just have a "respectable" champion.

He was just being Vince's lackey there.

John Laurinaitis isnt Vince. He is just Vince's tool.

Now If punk wants to get angry at Vince....... I can see why he might be angry at Vince.

To bad Vince it to old for a decent feud but I guess its good they are at least trying to clone his character.

Watch this match WrasselGAF, it was pretty awesome;

AJPW WORLD Jr. HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH;

Kenny Omega (c) vs Hiroshi Yamato - (AJPW 01/03/12)

Kinda stupid, IMO. Especially considering that crowd didn't give two shits about any of the matches on that card, and that was clearly apparent before their match started. They were just there to see guys hit each other with objects like the "good old days."

Even though the crowd was horrible, it's easy to see why he might have felt like he needed to do the match - EVOLVE's biggest show yet, their biggest paid attendance, live worldwide on iPPV, Gargano's first defence of his newly won DGUSA title, 'last' match in the Arena, etc. It was still super reckless in hindsight, but he couldn't have known how badly things would go.

It was after. Screwjob started the Mr. McMahon character (he was the over the top commentator before that point), Austin vs. McMahon was build up to Wrestlemania I believe. Shit got really real after Austin won the title. April was when RAW started beating Nitro.

Tonights RAW was really good, especially by today's standards. I was moderately entertained the whole way through, and I can't remember the last time that's happened. Johnny Ace killed me with his "SHUT YOUR MOUTH" comment. Jericho was amazing, as expected. and BAH GAWD MR. SOCKO! THAT DAMN, SWEATY SOCK!

God, I remember loving that Raw so much. When he came out in the suit and everything? So good... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRm1vrVVtAk

Funny that you mention the Montreal Screwjob, and yet can't remember that Laurinitus tried to do the EXACT SAME SCREWJOB to CM Punk against John Cena, in July.

Well, he did fire JR, which is all you should need for entry into the Heel Club, but some of you lame modern marks aren't respecting that time-honored tradition that's been around since at least the Austin era.

I guess he sort of cost Punk that match with Ziggler a while ago???

You mean twice. IN A ROW. Which set up this whole timeline to this Ziggler/Punk PPV match with Laurinitus as self-appointed Special Guest referee?

Yeah. He did that.

Seriously...are you guys even watching the show?

Or are the rapid-fire bong hits you guys are apparently doing on Monday and Friday nights affecting your memories of the most basic signposts on the road of this whole angle? If so...ease up, Cheech.

This is a pretty damn easy angle to follow IMO. It's not exactly like trying to figure out what happened to the secret general manager.

How about some context? What was the buildup to this match? Any promos? Where's the story Bootaaay?

Not much build-up - Kenny Omega won the AJPW World Jr. Heavyweight Title from KAI back in October, but is an outsider contracted to DDT Wrestling so is the automatic heel. Also, he seems to be being somewhat of a dick in his promos and with his general underestimation of Yamato, who is one of the rising stars of AJPW. And it's Kenny Omega - you guys know he always brings the goods, right?

Da hail is dis? Has Bootaaay tapped out to Youtube?

Yeah, youtube are being a pain in the ass and stuff's getting taking down in a matter of hours, so I'm using Megavideo temporarily. Probably gonna try Dailymotion or Veoh for full shows.

So, they play the best Indiana Jones movie after the worst Raw last week, and play the worst Indiana Jones movie after a good(ish) Raw this week. Fuck you USA

Wait, what? They're not airing Temple of Doom...

I thought Ziggler had promo of the night with "John ran away...awkwardly." but Barrett destroyed him with "Well, R-Truth, if that even is your real name..."

I am so sad that Ryder lost the US Title. So sad...

Everyone was on top form tonight. Even the Eve/Ryder stuff was nice. Cena was actually interesting. Dolph is skyrocketing to the top. Vicky was great. Johnny Ace is SHUT YOUR MOUTH amazing. Bryan is approaching the heel is should have been for ages. The Jericho bit was awesome, and Punk is delivering the promos he should be. The only main thing I did not like was Kane speech (everything he said was overly cheesy). I have no idea what the blogger guy said, as I muted the minute he started to come out, so that does not count.

Now for them to screw up all the good things they set in motion - I am sure they will manage it in 2 weeks.

...

Someone hold my drink.

Take it easy champ, he's not worth it

He'll soon be meeting Kali...IN HELL

Fav Five:
1. Raiders
2. Crystal Skull
3. Last Crusade
4. Every Episode of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles
5. Temple of Doom

...

I mean, I know, opinions and all that but...

Jesus fucking Christ...

edit: oh, I get it. It was a joke. Ha. Hahaha. You had me going there for a second there, man, I guess I am a mark. Good shit, El Pescado

R Truth was pretty hilarious this week. I AIN'T SURE IF THAT WAS PG!

Best part had to be: Jericho trolling, taking a picture of his fans...commercial rolls...commercial ends, 4 PEOPLE ARE NOW IN THE RING, JERICHO STILL CIRCLING THE RING GIVING HIGH FIVES

So good.

I swear, it's like every time I look, Adam Pearce is the NWA champion. Who the hell is he? Is he any good, Bootaaay?

Pearce was the booker of ROH after Gabe was fired, but he's been wrestling since the 90's and was trained by Ace Steel, and in turn had a hand in training both Punk & Cabana. In general he's a great old school style heel, which didn't always endear him or his methodical, distinctly un-flashy ring-work to modern indy fans, but I've always been a fan of his and felt he's pretty underrated and can work a great match given a good opponent.

What makes you think you can get me to watch anything Kenny Omega? :p

I thought this match from last year was good.

Crystal Skull is awesome and gets waaaay too much weird Internet hate.

I've despised Temple of Doom ever since I saw it when I was a little kid... Whatever.

On another note, I'm not the only one who hates R-Truth's face turn, right? Talk about ruining an awesome gimmick. Couldn't they have just split up Miz & Truth without one of them going face? Ugh...

I've never seen Indiana Jones.

What's wrong with me?

My wife has never seen anything. Ghostbusters. Star Wars. Indiana Jones. Back to the Future. Lord of the Rings. Apparently the only movie she ever saw as a kid was The Wizard of Oz.

I haven't been a fan either... They really fucking dropped the ball so hard with Truth-Miz. They could have been the guys to revitalize that tag division. =(
