hmm, nice. Not sure about the default controls - I think I'd like 'wipeout' config, but with the fire weapon control on the touch screen or rear panel

Lots of launch games look great. But not 50!!! Euro great. God damnit, Sony. 51.92€ for Hot Shots? No, thank you.

I looked up prices on Amazon and now my hype is pretty crushed. They must be mad. Nobody bought PSP games for 40€, who will get Vita games for 50€ (or more!)? I'll still get my preordered wifi Vita, but probably only one game, two at the most. The way of the bomba tells me that there`ll be UK bargains to be had in March.

How is that level of AA even possible? I mean seriously, that can't be what the game is really like, is it? It literally looks like console 'bullshots' or when you make forced AA just-for-screens from PC using multiple SSAA that slows the game down to unplayable levels.
 
In Wipeout continuity this is a prequel right? The vehicles don't like as advanced as some of the other games and I assume 2048 is the year.

thats photo mode which you can access after the race finishes, so not real-time screen grabs

True but even in game, the amount of aliasing the pretty minimal, sure it's there but you have to ACTIVELY look for it. And it's certainly hard to notice when you're racing. Of course even with all that said I'd take a ton of jaggies if it means I can run it at 60fps :p

Hello Gents, I've been seeing 'qHD' on GAF of late, in the context of the PSV games that aren't native res mostly. I'm just wondering what the Q's for, and where this came from if that's also of any interest.

Quarter HD. The resolution is 960×540 It has 1/4 the amount of pixels as something that is full HD which is 1920 x 1080.

Taxes are a bitch. Sony hasn't really priced Vita games too high, but in many European countries those cheap-ish prices can turn into not-that-cheap prices when taxes are added into them AND retailers get to fix them up a bit. That said, you can get a lot of the games for somewhat cheap if you just know where to look:

I don't see those as being that outrageously priced, especially given that something like Everybody's Golf Vita is probably the bigger & better game in comparison to the previous home console iteration and something like Uncharted GA probably has production values rivaling a lot of console games. If you want that kind of quality, I don't think you can expect much cheaper prices just because it's a handheld game.

Yes, only 8 vertical lines. (less than 1% difference, which was more likely to make it easier to scale PSP games) I agree, it's probably not a distinction worth making really.
 
The jet lag is making me too sleepy and will not be able to go to the New York event.

For those that can go, please do tell. I hope they have MK vita there so people can provide feedback.

I see. All screenshots of Vita games so far have been made using system's screenshot making function, so it would be nice to get some like that from this game as well.
 
the sound design is astonishing. The sound FX sound perfectly made to compliment the dance tracks and have that F1-ish feel of rev'ing up but also that hard dance track rising drone that makes you want to dance.

Sounds incredible, looks incredible, plays incredible. 4 hours to go (if i'm lucky)

Not been this hyped for a single game in a long long time.

Tempted to import physical card. Won't play online much but will play a lot offline so lack of online pass shouldn't be a big deal.
 
Thanks for all the demo impressions and videos folks. I still think Wipeout will be a PSN title for me instead of retail just because I'm going to want to keep it on my machine for a very long time.

It's still unfortunate about the lengthy load times but with the audio and visual quality we're getting I'm not going to complain about it too much. Those photo mode pics are pretty staggering considering they are coming from a portable device!
