Well, it did have the best tyre smoke this gen, outside of GRiD and Driver SanFran, so it wasn't all bad! But Hot Pursuit is the only NFS game you need this gen. Roll on HP2 Criterion, I have unwavering faith in you guys!

Well, i didnt mean if someone likes him or hates him, I also like better Donald. He is still an iconic character for the industry were he was born since 1928.

Also Mickey in Steamboat Willie, plane Crazy and Gallopin Gaucho was future Donald. Blame america's public for that one, they converted him into america's good boy and ambassador for the rest of the world, but im of the opinion that that worked out.
I think it's universally agreed the failure rates of the 360 were unacceptable, but that's no longer the case and this is a topic has been beaten to death so I don't see the point in bringing it up now.

Persona 4 is the most undeservingly overrated Jrpg in the history of mankind (some would argue it's FFVII but it's not), The Last Remnant doesn't deserve one hundredth of the hate it got instead.
I guess my most controversial opinion stems from the fact that most of the time, I dislike 3rd person action games. What that translates into is my distaste for games like God of War, Bayonetta, Vanquish, Ninja Gaiden, Shinobi, etc., and I'm slowly losing my patience with Kingdom Hearts right now. I keep giving them a chance, though, since there have been games and series that I've hated for a long time that I ended up falling in love with later in life, so I haven't written them off completely.
My love for Minish Cap isn't/wasn't popular here. Seems to be the most hated game in the series, or at least GAF groupthink was like this for a while several years ago. Maybe times have changed.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
The split design of the Wii-remote is better than the DS3 or the 360 pad. I think it could do with a slight layout change, plus some additional buttons to accommodate the average game, but it is easily the most comfortable controller in the hand.

I don't think that Skyrim is all that great. While I am impressed with the size and scope of the game, I just got pretty bored with it. I played about 110 hours so I think I have some exprerience with the game. I finished the main quest, all 4 guilds and the civil war story. Nothing really grabbed me. The dungeons were boring. The quest lines weren't great. Nothing seemed as cool as some of the quests in Oblivion. Everything just seemed like a thinly veiled fetch quest. I spent about 20 more hours in Skyrim as I did in Oblivion but I enjoyed Oblivion more. There, I said it.

I think a large number of "classic" and revered SNES/PS1/N64 games are unplayable by modern standards, especially when it comes to JRPGs.

I always remember it as the first game with an intro that actually impressed me.
For me, the cutoff is 8-bit games. Most SNES games hold up pretty well, a lot more than PS1 or N64 games.
The only 8-bit games I can really enjoy with anything but nostalgia goggles on anymore are the classic Mega Man series.

See, that's another thing, all the different buttons you have to use, "R"eload, "T"orch, "G"renade, it's just awkward to me. I get that the mouse is more accurate than the right stick, but everything else is just off. Clicking the mouse button to shoot is surely no subtitute for a proper trigger, the left stick also surely makes more sense than WASD to move, and everything else is just the randomly placed keys mapped to ergonomic buttons on the pad. Throw in rumble (hardly a dealbreaker admittedly, but a nice bonus), an ergonomic form factor and the "couch" factor and the pad comes out on top everytime for me.

I think Valve's terrible for how they've handled Episode 3. We've gotten Left 4 Dead 2 and Portal 2 (both unneeded sequels), but there's absolutely no sign of Episode 3. At this point, they might as well just make Half-Life 3 and make Episode 3 into some prologue for it.
The best FPSes ever made are Quake I, Perfect Dark, Half-Life, and Call of Duty 2.
Terraria is a great game, but the fact that they're STILL using barely-changed Final Fantasy sprites is pretty shitty.

+1, especially with the condom on the remote, so comfortable! The nunchuk could've been a little bigger and heavier for me mind. But not having your hands held together was so liberating in terms of just slouching around, probably my favourite controller/s this gen in terms of ergonomics. Needed more buttons, a bigger wireless nunchuk, and a rounder wiimote to be pretty much perfect.

PS3 YLOD was worse than the 360s RROD. Why? Because I was covered for free replacements for my broken 360s and I could recover all my saves. PS3 I wasn't covered at all and lost all my saves + backwards compatibility.

So, why get hung up on minor fluctuations in frame-rate/buffer-size when time and progress is inevitably going to render such distinctions redundant?

I know I'm way late on this but I laughed.
I know there are some other people who agree with my statement on Xenogears, and I'm no way saying that my opinion is unique, but after hearing how it's considered one of the best JRPGS ever made ever, I was severely disappointed (I played it for the first time when it became available on PSN).
