I watched some anime this weekend!
Rinne no Lagrange 1
Why are all the evil pilots men and all the good pilots women? Or did I miss something? Otherwise - could have done without the suplex (just screams CHEESE at me) but surprisingly good - nice and chirpy.
Aquarion Evol 1-2
I am clearly super-jaded. This is actually no worse than the original Aquarion's first episode, but where I gave that a pass I just couldn't get into this. It makes me feel very old to realise it's been seven years or so since the original series, and thus most of the people watching it probably haven't really seen the first season so it doesn't matter that it's almost exactly the same.
Although what the hell is the stupid segregation of the sexes thing about? While it sets up the ridiculous "men and women should never gattai BUT OH WAIT IT'S AWESOME" joke/plotpoint/whatever the hell it is, it just seems a bit pointless really; an incredibly artificial obstacle that is so obviously going to fall apart (because the premise of the show is COMBINING SEX ROBOTS) that it seems hardly worth the effort.
Anyway, same old stupid Aquaricrack, except not actually at the insane levels it got to later in the series so much less interesting.

It's worrying that everything that happened in this episode - and I mean, everything - was revealed in the advance publicity for it. At least Lagrange and Aquarion have the advantage of action sequences, or Aquarion's cheesy meet-cute stuff - aside from maybe the meeting in the elevator and the hints of there being "another" Misaki (oh ho ho I see what you did there, show), the episode was a bit of a snore. By-the-numbers writing and directing, SO MUCH GREY... not that I'm disinterested in where the story might go, but it's hardly dressed in the most exciting of clothing.
You can be creepy by doing more than just focusing on people's eyes going wide and random seemingly pointless shots of dolls.

I just felt like watching this as it's one of my favourite episodes. The ending section as Operation Golden Rule of Love plays out is just masterful, a perfect synergy of shot composition, art, music, acting, scripting...

It's gotten better, but still noticeably less tense than the original with some censorship here and there.
Honestly, I'm expecting a time change if they want to make it to the Chimera Ant arc. The timeslot they're in now really won't allow a lot of what happens.

Pretty funny episode overall. It was an amusing diversion while also reflecting on the characters and providing some development for Shunpei and O-Nui. It was nice to see that strand hadn't been dropped. I continue to be really impressed with how the show handles timing in regards to its comedy. There were several moments in the episode that were just pitch perfect.

Yeah, this season has a few good OPs, and I like the ED of Ano Natsu.
Very soon, in fact; February 1. Though if you really can't wait and don't mind a bit of background noise, you could always watch this off-screen recording of the music video from C81.
It's an excellent game. I can't speak for HQ as I haven't gotten around to that version yet (only played the original) but it's got fun and attractive characters, interesting plot branching with a variety of "what if" scenarios (it's not a one-story-per-girl game), the affection/connection bar at the top made experimenting to find routes easier than most trial-and-error novel games (hopefully they didn't ditch that in HQ). And of course, it's animated. Not that detailed still CGs aren't nice, but animation is fun, too.

Surprise entry by Kaito was great especially since he is back to solving puzzles. It was pretty epic.

Started to feel bad for both Rook and Gammon. Rook seems to be jealous or envious of the relationships and friendships Kaito has and especially when he got angry at Nonoha in the scene after she woke Kaito up. I hope reconciliation is possible. Gammon just needs a time to shine, but with POG, doesnt seem possible with impossible puzzles
