Just a little over 2 weeks until the First Editions hit and I'm glad it's almost here. I know I'm getting Uncharted from the TRU.com deal and I'm going to download Wipeout 2048 as soon as I get my machine home and will most likely pick up Shinobido 2 on the 22nd.

I have a little over $60 in PSN credit at this point thanks to the PSN Visa deal and hopefully Wipeout will be $30 leaving me another $30 (or $40 depending on the how the $10 PSN credit with the FE Bundle works) for other titles. Super Stardust Delta is a lock but beyond that I'm going to wait for some more reviews before I decide what else to purchase.

I've got a 16GB card on pre-order to go with my FE Bundle and will use that as my main card. I hope I don't later regret not getting the 32!

Mine says the 15th? When did you order?
The day it was announced! I can't possibly see what the probl-
Do you have Release Date Delivery selected?

... *whistles happily as he stealthily exits the room.*

Damn Amazon, I always forget they don't automatically select release-date delivery. Even on games when the option is release-date for 99 cents or two days later for 4 bucks. Who would pick the second option, I mean really!?

That PDP case looks so tacky and cheap. It doesn't even hold up in the official product shots. Not sure if you guys are serious.

Finally saw the Taco Bell ad. Doesn't do the system much justice or hype it much.
At least it won't hype people who don't already know it exists.

That PDP case looks nice. Looks to be officially licensed too from the packaging. I put in my order at amazon but they lookto be out of stock...wonder for how long...

I think a good case is a necessity for a handheld gaming system. Then again I tend to be clumsy and have been known to drop a system in my house just going from room to room. And some of the rooms in my house have hardwood floors which are not friendly to electronic device impacts.

Why take the risk, especially when a good protective case can be had for $20 or less?

Just bought this case.

With some ebay bucks that I had (which were about to expire and I wouldnt have used em apart form this lol), it cost me $5 bucks.

Ill post some pictures of it when I get it. It looks pretty good, but even if it turns out terrible, for 5 bucks who cares lol.

So I thought I'd search for some Vita products after reading your post and someone is selling a one of a kind PS Vita.

Make sure you view the video.

Hmm, seems like the 3G version is pointless. Well, from the reviews I've read so far.

Yeah, but I'm going to get it anyway, because with the 8gb card, it's only 20 dollars more than the wifi. Plus for 15 dollars (the price of one month of data), I get two months of 3G and a 10 dollar PSN game. If that stuff is of of no concern, then the WiFi seems to be the way to go as it's still a little cheaper, but I'm not disappointed in my choice at all, and who knows? I may end up wanting the 3G access down the line and I'll be glad I got it.

if it's not a clamshell, it needs a case.
I used to have a cheap crystal case for my psp. Regret ever using it, made all these marks around the psp that could never be wiped away. Also had a crystal case for my ds lite and I don't if its the reason, but it somehow made the hinges loose and eventually cracked the thing (I know its a common issue with the ds lites, but I really have a strong feeling the case had something to do with my ds issue)

I was out and about earlier tonight, and I figured I'd pop in Best Buy to see if there was a demo unit. I'm walking around, and spot the Vita stand, and lo and behold, a sales clerk is all decked out in Vita gear. A Vita T-Shirt, Vita name badge laminate, and a Vita in her hands.

At first glance, its quite easy on the eyes. Slick form factor, and one of those devices that seem to catch the eye. I try out the Little Deviants demo, and get a feel for the controls. I am extremely impressed at how easy on the hands this device is. The analog sticks feel great, the buttons have a perfect "clickiness" to them. The sales rep. informs me that they're pre-orders have ramped up over the weekend, and a lot of people have stopped her to ask her about the device, not really knowing what it was.

So, I mess around w/ the demo for another couple of minutes, then notice a few people lining up behind me for their hands on time.

One thing is certain though, this begs of a screen protector, or at least a lot of TLC for the finger print smudges.

I'm still a bit confused by the 3G bundle. To get the PSN game you have to buy a month of the data plan ($15 or whatever)?

I'd upgrade to the 3G if I could get the 8 gig stick and the PSN game. I don't care about going on the internet with the Vita; don't care about the free month or whatever either.

Even if I don't intend on using the 3G, at least I'm not gonna look back on it and say, "Man I wish I had spent that extra 10 bucks to just get the 3G version. It would come in handy right about now". C'mon people.

How can I prevent screen smudginess from finger prints? The screen is a smudge magnet. Do screen protectors help against that?

not worth it if you have a smartphone and already pay for a data plan, thats why I am getting the wifi version. No point in 3g for me.

I'm mostly referring to people who are spending their money on things similar to what the 3G deal would provide.

I'd rather not have an additional device to have to add credit to for mobile downloads. I already have a pocket wifi thingamajig and it works fine across all my devices.

Ive read 4 pages, but I didnt find the answer, sorry, I havent been following the launch....

1)Are demo units out in the wild? id like to see the screen

2) Whats with the "best buy 1 week early! release" thats sort of weird isnt it?

Yeah, I'd rather waste $10 on a feature i'd never use than save the 10$ and always wonder "what if...".

Im quite excited about near (even though i dout there'll be much people using it in my city.)
so 3G is goood for me.

the fact you get wipeout download with (EU) it just sold me on it.

I played the Vita at one of those Vita social hill things they have in Santa Monica. I was very impressed by the hardware. However, playing it sorta took away some of the mystique and now I dont know if I need one RIGHT away. I kinda wanna see what the iPad 3 turns out like before I buy it.

This is why I'm not going to look at one until it arrives from Amazon. I'll take everyone's word for it that it's awesome. As for the iPad 3 I married an Apple fangirl, so I'll get to use that as well without having to spend "my" money.

Glad to hear that the Vita's starting to catch on with the general public. Hopefully the marketing campaign for this thing goes into full swing in the next few weeks.

I'm not much of an online player, and it sounds like 3G's terrible for that anyway. Still, maybe the GPS is useful even when it's used only through Wi-Fi, and that Gust game implies there might be games that use 3G in an interesting way, and maybe THEY will do it in a form that I'd actually give a shit about like whatever MGS Portable Ops was trying to do.

Completely pointless. As is a measly 8GB card. That bundle is a joke.
Sarcasm? Though sarcastic or not 8 GB is probably ENOUGH to hold you over until the holiday season when there might be some sales, at least unless you planned to get everything digitally anyway. Going by the fact 32 GB would probably be immediately killed for me once PS1 support's added for me it's futile to hope to store all your games anyway.

That reminds me of the Logitech Playgear Pocket for the PSP which was awesome.
That might even be better than the Pull and Go Folio because it holds 8 games and is 10 bucks less.

Was about to say that it reminded me of the Playgear Pocket.

I think I found my PS Vita case. :) Thanks for sharing, Don!
