Apart from Lan being cute as usual, this episode wasn't that much fun. Muginami is excruciatingly annoying, while Lan's refusal
to tell Madoka what's going on is still irritating.

Madoka herself didn't help much either, with the standard
Let's all be friends even though you want to kill each other!
trope in full effect.

I personally dislike characters who intentionally withhold vital information simply to drag the plot out, so this episode really soured my opinion on the show as a whole.

Hee hee I advise you stay away from "another" then, it’s all about withholding information and beating around the bush to create artificial mystery and to cripple drag the plot.

I feel like am the only one on the internet who hasn't seen Lost.

I thought that was what Another was going to be like, so I haven't even watched any of it. I know my limitations. :)

Muginami just looks bad. Design blows, character is worst, and when she's on screen, that's just screentime that Lan could have taken.

warning: I've yet to watch episode two.

Like a blind prophet, your predictions still come to pass (sometimes).
I'd probably get the pillows in this order:

Ohana
Nako
Cake

that other girl

I think what you mean to say is that you've got the first two and have an order in for the third.

I had to sleep a little bit. WAtched one episode then passed the fuck out on my futon next to Android.

Tomoyo singing is so cute.
This episode is pretty straightforward except that
the new transfer students are very suspicious and obviously behind the angry piano, among other things.

A strong episode again. I'm so positive at the moment, so I can watch Another now.

Damn, I didn't even realize that Tasogare Otome X Amnesia (which I just started reading) was getting an anime in spring. That brings the total series I'll be watching then up to 10 and I'm sure there's still stuff that will be revealed.

Spring is stacked and I'm not even watching Apollon.

Ghost In The Shell 2 Innocence

Man, this film. This was another movie I've been wanting to watch for a while but I've never had the chance before. Luckily a friend was willing to let me borrow it so this is how I decided to spend my Superbowl Sunday. I absolutely loved it. The film was visually breathtaking with really great art direction and top notch atmosphere. Some really amazing scenes such as the parade and the mansion scene. The use of philosophical quotes was a tad overbearing though. It felt like half the dialogue was them quoting something. I thought the overall plot was really well done, aside from that. A bit slow paced but I was pretty much expecting that from the beginning. It's been a few years since I've watched the original so I'd definitely like to go back and watch that and give this a re-watch since it seems like a film that needs more than one watch.
You're good people.

If anything, that proves my point!
There's a war between Lan's planet and Muginami's, but Madoka is only concerned that they're fighting with each other on a personal level.

Madoka doesn't know much about the intergalatic war. What would you do if you learn that your friend is an "enemy"? I guess that's pretty much how you would act.

Evangelion was filled with stock footage and Freudian imagery.

The problem was that they had the Freud without the Jung, a total step backwards in my opinion.

Intergalactic war is surprisingly similar to regular war, at least in those respects. Madoka should have learnt about that in school.

He's too busy trying to keep his
deep seated attachment to Lapp's wife in check to be drawn correctly!

The scene directly following that one was a lesson in the use of context like I have rarely seen. Incredibly impressive direction. I'll be giving detailed impressions later once lectures are all said and done.

I don't know who that is, BUT OMG MORE SAINT SEIYA BEYOND THE HADES OVAS! I picked a good time to start watching Lost Canvas. This brings the total up to 11.

Yoshihiko Umakoshi was the character designer and chief animation director of Casshern Sins. He was instrumental in that show turning out so gorgeous. He was also the character designer, and animation director for the important episodes, of Heartcatch Precure.

Yeah, there's a really impressive amount of story being conveyed visually in the movie as a whole, which is pretty ironic consideration how often LOGH drops exposition onto through lots of narration.

Oh, that bloke, now I remember.

So is the new Saint Seiya anime an adaptation of one of the spinoff series or is it completely original? I see Episode G and Next Dimension don't have an anime yet, but I don't know enough about them to notice if those are the characters or not.

Seems like an original story.
If they make it approachable for people new to the franchise, I might give it a look. I liked Heartcatch's style, despite how formulaic it was.

edit: article up in English:
Toei Animation announced on Tuesday that the mythical fantasy anime Saint Seiya will return to television for the first time in about a quarter century with a new series, Saint Seiya Omega, on April 1. The new anime will have an original adventure action story with a new generation of characters, led by the protagonist Kōga.
