I've probably said those exact words too in my lifetime, so I guess we can conclude it and I can bring home the trophy I won for Astounding Achievement in Figuring Out MoeAlright, this has just become 100% comical. lol
Just let me leave with a fun line at least.
One Piece is popular shit.
I'm not using shit in a negative context.
Nope. But you can have "Big One's fantastic definition of moe which applies to 70% of all manga in existence." If you can fit that on a trophy, go for it. Might be pricey though.I've probably said those exact words too in my lifetime, so I guess we can conclude it and I can bring home the trophy I won for Astounding Achievement in Figuring Out Moe
But it'll always be the most consistently correct one, rather than labeling chibi style and similar stuff as "moe anime" and get it done with.Your definition is currently and will forever be terrible.

The Rainbow Project, a task force made up of the Social Responsibilities Round Table and the Gay, Lesbian, Transgender and Queer Round Table of the American Library Association released its 2012 Rainbow List last month. The list included Takako Shimura's Wandering Son volume 1 from Fantagraphics Books.
Can't blame mangastream for Big One's trolling. That still falls on him.See what you've done to ManGAF, Mangastream?
Every main character in that manga is drawn in cute style. If there was just a few, like in something like Berserk or Fist of the North Star, I wouldn't call those "moe-style."

The main character here, and most pictures I've seen from it are drawn in a very cutesy style. The style is what I call "moe-style," but you can call it anything you want, it's a very clear and concise style you see in a lot of series. Yes, majority of anime/manga have this style, but not all and it isn't so inflated that the idea of sticking exclusively to more non-conventional styles is out of the question since there's hundreds of manga out there that aren't moe-style.
This doesn't mean that "all anime look the same" but the styles are there. For example I consider One Piece to be completely cartoon-style (with some anime stuff too), but that doesn't mean all cartoons look like One Piece or vise-versa.
I'm not hating, just stating the truth. Did not use "shit" in a negative context whatsoever.
a preview of the anime thread at times.
All of you are on my ignore list. The only posts I can see are mine. This thread is awesome.

Like I said, moe is not a genre. Never has, never will be. Moe is just a kind of feeling you get when you think a character is attractive and/or cute, and that's all it's ever described. The phrase is, afterall, "That's so moe..." The idea that there are "moe anime" is a relatively modern concept, but moe itself can never be considered an actual genre. You're trolling aren't you? you're calling that moe? You're got to be kidding me. That's not moe. Moe is something like K-on or Pretty Cure.
Bleach is definitely in the same style most anime is. It's a little different, but the base fundamentals are there. The proportions of the characters, the facial designs are all very moe-like.Bleach is moe? Ahahahaha.

The reason why I call stuff that is typical anime style "moe-style" is because moe has primarily in it's origins in shojo style stuff. The Shojo style, which was originally unique, pretty much became the standard style for most anime and manga out there due to it's widespread popularity, and then later you got stuff like Rurouni Kenshin and Yu Yu Hakusho which introduced the shojo style to the shonen fanbse. Back then it was more focused on pretty boys, which is a key difference there. Shojo appeals to to females, and moe appeals to a wide range of dedicated otaku mixed with internet culture. Nowadays you have stuff that is consistently anime style, but series always insert in a "moe" characters with character designs that make the characters look perfect and flawless without any consideration of making it work for the setting and story. Largely so, everyone of those manga he put except for the two I listed have moe character designs and a very modern moe style to it.
I do admit that it's been a while since I've discussed the concept of moe, but I'm an old anime/manga fan so I remember when moe was used correctly and what kind of context it has culturally. I'm more than aware that people have their "moe anime" nowadays, but the use of such a term that was is ruining the original context of it and also doesn't really make sense in the perspective that people treat moe as it's own genre.

I don't' even recognize the chick at the end. I assume it's just a competitor for the main chick that hasn't shown up before, or no?
Now that Mangastream is gone, I think we all know that Naruto, One Piece and Bleach scans are done for good. Forever.
Well at least one person from ManGAF is still ecstatic.Well, there's always Fairy Tail!
To be fair, Fairy Tail's been surprisingly good recently.
Only because of the focus on Juvia.
No. Juvia makes everything worse. Actually the chapters have been good in spit of Juvia.
So I marathoned some swimming echii series called, I dunno, Kenko Zenrakei Suieibu Umisho, and it was alright. Enjoyable enough for me to marathon it, I guess. I think if you get enough likable cast members together I'll read purely to see them do their one-note gags every few chapters.

Umisho was alright I think, I feel there are times where it drags though. The art is pleasant and the characters are fun enough. I'd put it at the same level as Bamboo Blade in terms of the slice of life/comedy bits. I still think Inu Neko Jump was Hattori's best work, although I am enjoying Sankarea.
I really want to see a harem or echii comedy where the protagonist isn't a blithering idiot or a generic duder though, any recommendations?

$10 says the other one dies stopping cherry from killing the friendly giant and this one sleazes in with Tae.
Anyone know if vagabond is coming back? Its been gone since like 2010. I thought it was just like Blade of the immortal for a while, with a very irregular release rate, but it seems the author has simply stopped making them.
