So...a new theory just came out about Tobi's identity that makes a hell of a lot of sense.

The truth is that there has always been a connection between Tobi, Orochimaru, and Madara as evidenced during the Sasuke/Danzou encounter and Edo-Madara/Kabuto convo

Given that fact, I believe that

Tobi is to Madara what Yamato is to Hashirama.
An Orochimaru experiment in which he incorporated Madara's DNA into a child.




Consider the similaries between Yamato and Tobi.
Both were introduced around the same time in the Manga.
Both have stated themselves to be significantly weaker than their true counterparts.
And Both have an extreme dislike for Orochimaru.

It also explains all of Tobi's "lies" about being Madara (since he technically is) just not a "complete" Madara.
His line, "My Eyes, Uchiha Madara's eyes"
His wish to "be complete"
The stories of "his" (Madara's) battles
His ability to summon the Kyuubi
The Kyuubi mistaking him for the real Madara

Something else on the new Negima chapter: where Chao and future Eva were joking around, saying something about how maybe future Negi was such a badass because he lost Asuna, and bringing her back with them was a mistake. I can't help but hope that was supposed to be some subtle commentary from Ken on how he really did want to get Asuna out of the picture but wasn't allowed to, but sadly I know that's not the case.

One can only dream.
